My mouse cursor jumps two spots that activate without touching and the mouse moves to these spots.  One is at the very top of the screen and the other is about 2 inches below the first.  At times I can see the cursor jump between the two spots.  Using the touch pad I move the cursor back and shortly after I it will move it back.  Wiping the screen with a cloth wil sometimes stop the movement but after 20 to 30 min it will come back.  I have rebooted the system and it will still do it.  It is always the same 2 spots on the screen.  I have updated the synaptic driver, the graphics driver, hid touch screen driver, and the  display addaptor driver.  Each one seemed to fix the problem for a short time then it would come back.  2 years ago I had the same problem and I found a post that said to disable something in the mouse settings but I can't find it again.  I see lots of post with this problem but no solutions that last more than a day or two and the issue comew back.  it ad not been a problem for me in a while until I updated the display driver trying to get my screen brightness keys to function and then it came back.

Hello. I have two issues with this newly purchased machine.

Problem #1

In the tablet mode, in some areas of the touchscreen when initiating the writing the screen doesn't recognize the contact for 0.5 seconds after the contact. For example, if I want to write the word "laptop" it will write only the word "aptop" or "ptop" because it doesn't recognize that initial contact. And it happens only in certain parts of the screen which is highly frustrating. I am a student and constantly utilize this tablet/touchscreen mode. I tried two different styluses, including HP stylus I received in the package with this laptop and they all lag perform the same with the same glitches in certain areas of the screen. Now, to my notice, when trying to write something with the bare finger (skin-to-screen contact) those glitches disappear throughout the entire area of the screen.

Problem #2

When I turn on a keyboard light, the laptop starts to produce a high-pitched noise that does not disappear and very frustrating as well. 

I ordered this laptop off official HP website and it is brand new, so my question is, why is this machine working like it was already used?  Please, assist me to solve these rather annoying problems. After spending over $1000 dollars, I am considering to return this product and honestly never use HP products, because for this cost I was at least expecting a machine without glitches!

While swiping a finger on the LCD touchscreen to scroll vertically, screen does not move fluently and rather moves in intermittent steps. This is being occured in Windows folder view or in internet pages, whatsoever.

To note that scrolling with two fingers using the touchpad does generate a perfect fluent and fast move.

Does anyone have the same behavior on their Spectre 13.3" touchscreen?

I would be glad to solve this annoying behavior.

When I connect my LG TV via HDMI as an External monitor (extended display) to my laptop on the active signal resolution drops to 1320x768, whereas the desktop resolution on both the tv and the laptop monitor both have a resolution of 1920x1080. When the display is set to "duplicated" both the active and desktop resolution are 1920x1080 however the display doesn't fit properly on the tv screen. I have searched extensively for help on this issue but have been unable to fix it from updating drivers, adjusting the desktop resolution, checking cables, restarting etc. I cannot adjust the active signal resolution manually. How can I fix this issue?

The brightness buttons on my keyboard don't seem to change the screen brightness, how can I fix this?

I've tried turning adaptive brightness on and off in the power plan settings and attempted this on battery and mains power.

I've used the windows device manager to update the graphics driver and system firmware.

The HP support assistant says no updates are available.

I've looked on the Software and Drivers section of the HP website but multiple drivers are available for the chipset/graphics etc. so I'm not sure which one is suitable.

Did my HP pavilion x360 convertible (product no. Z4Q51PA#ACJ) supports stylus pen ?

Laptop configuration:

Intel i7-7700 HQ CPU
NVIDIA 1050Ti 4GB
16 GB RAM (Upgraded from original 8GB)
WINDOWS 10 - 64 bit
1920x1080 resolution @ 60Hz

I have a very stable connection which provides more 25+ MBPS internet. Minimum required is ~15 MBPS

My laptop seems to have ticked all the boxes for streaming and watching HD content. But even then, I only see 720p as the streaming option on YouTube. Till data I have never been able to stream HD content on Amazon. Even my phhone, Samsung S7, is able to play HD content from Amazon.

Whenever I purchase an HD movie, it says, "Your display doesn't seem to be HDCP complaint, hence content will stream in SD". This has really frustrating. To me, there is no point of spending som many dollars if the visual quality is not up to the mark.

I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter.

a few weeks back i recieved my hp g5 zbook x360 workstation laptop. but i have problems with the touchscreen sometimes when i am working the left side of my screen stops working when i am touching it. this is very anoying because then i have to restart my pc every time i work on a project. when i try to start the hp create control panel I can't it says that the touchscreen isnt connected. and when it doesnt work i have to contact hp. but i couldnt find any clue how to fix this problem so maybe someone could help me with my problem. thank you in regards!

Hi everyone

I had purchased a refurbished HP elitebook a couple of months ago and it has worked flawlessly until today when I noticed my wifi stopped working, I restarted my pc like usually only this time I was suddenly greeted with a glitched out white screen with vertical and horizontal lines all over. I noticed the pc was running so I tried to connect it to my pc through cable and that did work. I read up online and found that it might be my graphics driver. I installed the latest from HP and restarted my pc, that actually worked however the screen was flickering constantly. I then went into bios and restored the default settings and restarted the laptop. After that it was back to the beginning and the screen glitched again. I've been trying to do the driver installation again but it's not working anymore. I don't think this is a hardware problem because I didn't do anything to break the lcd and I got it working once after it broke. I suspect that it has something to do with the wifi on my laptop since the problems occured at the same time and when I'm using a different screen for my laptop the wifi still doesn't work.

Hi,

 

So I was working on the computer when it locked up and crashed . Upon restart Windows 10 updated. Once booted the keyboard and Touchpad stopped functioning.

 

The keyboardand Touchpad work within the BIOS and HP Diagnostics but not Windows 10.

 

I have an external mouse working in Windows but an external keyboard doesn't. On screen keyboard life ftl.

 

These issues are obviously driver related but I can't roll back the Keyboard driver and rolling back the mouse driver does nothing. Update showed errors but I was able to update eventually, to no change.

 

I tried downloading from the HP support site but install changed nothing . Uninstall and reboot did nothing.

 

Device Manager returns this error for the Touchpad:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

 

And this error for the Keyboard:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

 

HALP ME.

The keyboard keys fn+f5 and fn+f6 do not work for changing the brightness under windows 10. Other fn keys, like for changing the volume - work.

I have been having a display driver issue which i only noticed about 3 weeks after updating the display driver from the AMD website. I don't have a restore point (i think). (i was having an issue playing movie files, which were stalling. But it wasn't resolved until i deleted some big files off the hard drive)

Now, when i try to open specific programs (Solidworks CAD) i get an error message "LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specified module could not be found".

After searching for solutions on google it seems this is a display driver issue.

I have installed the HP support assistant which has recommended a display driver update (SP54471), but when i try to install this driver it gives an error message "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".....

I tried getting the most recent drivers from the HP website (SP55092) which installed fine but hasn't solved the issue. So i tried the switchable graphics driver (SP55098) which would not install, returning the same error as above about min reqs.

 

Any ideas?

 

I also just tried SP55470 which gave the same error, "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".....

I have a problem with AMD Radeon 535DX. This card has 2000 MB of memory, but it use only 500, like a main card on my laptop (Radeon R5 with 500 MB of memory)

After updating to windows 10 did my touch screen still work. A few hours later the hp support assistant asked if i wanted to update my drivers, After I did that my HID- comliant touch screen  end pen support drivers disepeared. So now I can't use my touch screen. I tryed to fix it by going back to factory settings but it didn't help. What can I do?

Hello,

The screen of my HP PAVILION 15-AB522TX started showing these black lines recently. They're getting larger and larger by each day. I assume these are dead pixels.

 

 

Will this require screen replacement to fix it?

I'd like to get a rough estimate on how much does it cost. I'm from India.

Any help would be appreciated...

HP ENVY x360 - Anyone else can help me with my problem. The upper portion of the Touch Screen is unresponsive, When I touch it is not working, but in the lower portion of the screen is working. After restart, all part of the screen work, but after 20 to 30 minutes the problem is repeat again. This is happen to me every time I open may laptop. A hardware problem or a software problem. Any suggestion what should I do?  Thank you
