As stated in the subject - touchpad doesn't work in Windows 10 on HP Probook 450 G1 no matter what you do, or what driver you install. It used to work once there was Windows 8 or 8.1. I don't remember when it was. My wife has been running the laptop for several years already and the touchpad stopped working a long time ago. However, she has never asked me why though. So now the question is more of a principal - who co do a magic to return my touchpad back to life. Looking forward to any magic tricks except for another Windows\driver reinstall.

fingerprint scanner does not work.

I tried to change my login settings and that's when I noticed that windows hello was not avaiable on my elitebook. But this is not possible because I do have a fingerprint scanner on my elitebook.
So I started searching on the internet but nothing seemed to work.
I noticed that on device manager there wasn't an option for biometric devices.
Also when I open "hp client security" and click on "fingerprints" at the bottom it says that there is no fingerprintscanner connected.
So my question is: how can i activate windows hello and make my fingerprint scanner work?

Screen doesn't wake up after lid closed
I have an HP Envy 17 laptop, which I have had for probably 4 or 5 years. Over the last year, it has developed a problem when I close the lid or press the power button to sleep it in between use.
On lifting the lid or pressing the power button on to use each time, the laptop clearly wakes (lights come on, fan starts), but the screen stays black. Sometimes I can force it into coming up by pushing the touchpad buttons aggressively, but this does not always work.
I have looked into it, and tried the very few things I can find, but am not convinced that what I have found really matches this problem, as a lot of things seem to refer to the whole PC not waking up. With mine, it is just the screen that won't wake.
I have updated drivers for the screen and associated bits, I have checked the settings to make sure it should wake up up with touch of a button and lifting the lid, but still it is often painfully stubborn.
Any advice would be MUCH appreciated.

HP Omen Keep go to sleep after few minuts
Hi,
My HP Omen keep go to sleep after a few minuts when I am not active on the computer.
The power settings are set for 20 on battery and 30 min on cable plus ScreenSaver is adjusted for 20 minuts too.
Quite annoying when trying to install anything as the computer go to sleep every other second when I am not around.
I was told that it could be caused by a HP program which overrule the Windows Screen setup but cant find anything.
When it happens I just need to move the mouse and log-on again but the download seems to be stopped during the sleep.

My Notebook has no display
Hi. The notebook has power, but display is blank. I can hear the fan is on, and the light on the CAPS lock is blinking, yet no life from the display. I tried hooking up HDMI to my smart T.V. It recognizes a source upon plug-in, but then no video. I tried the BIOS start-up (windows key + B key, then start button for 2-3 seconds, holding other two for over a minute) .... all to no result! Any advice before I spend $$ on a new display or repair?

HP Spectre - Erratic Touch Pad
My HP Spectre has a crazy touchpad. Pretty frequently the point of the cursor for the touch pad freezes, appears as a vibrating circle and starts randomly opening and closing screens. I always have an external mouse attached and while it kind of still appears on the screen it can't be controlled. I generally have to switch off by using the powere button and starting up again to resolved the problem. My model number is 13-4116dx. Please help. I used to infrequently use this laptop and only noticed this occurring once or twice. Now I'm using it everyday it's occurring every few minutes.

I updated to the last BIOS (F.0B Rev.A) but then the touchscreen stopped working.
I try to reinstall the backup BIOS (F.00) or later version to the last (F.04) but I receive:
Unable to open bios signature file.
I reset the BIOS to the default configuration and Windows. I updated "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" too.
I tried to update the BIOS with "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" because when I try to update with WIN+B the Laptop not response.
When I tried to update with "HP System BIOS Update & Recovery" (sp62270.exe) for version F.04 BIOS software I received:
This BIOS update is not compatible with this PC.
But HP provides this software for my Laptop through your site according to my serial number.

hp 23f screen quality problem
I just returned an HP 23f monitor to Best Buy because there was white coming through on the bottom and corners of the black background on the monitor. I got a replacement of the same one and this one has it too. Does anyone know what this is? Does it get worse? If not I might just say heck with it and keep it, or might pony up and buy a different monitor. Just frustrating.
Also, there's no board in this support page that deals with monitors, pretty bs. Just chose a random one. If someone can point me in a better direction I'd appreciate it.

Dim corner screen
The right bottom corner of my screen gets really dim after sleep mode. Even after I unlock the screen it does not return to normal.

HP-15f211 dead screen
Hi Forum, replaced a drive in a HP-15f211 (as a favor), re-assembled and now no display. Power port light comes on when power button is pressed (with and without battery) and light on wifi key (F12) lights up but no display. I was thinking maybe lid switch but I have no idea where that is.
Step taken:
Hooked up HDMI monitor but that shows no signal. I dont know if the HDMI output works in POST environment so that is a mystery. I toggled the F4 key a few times with and without FN and CTRL
Moved lid around during and after power up, no help
Put old drive back in, no help
Checked all zif connections and all looks good.
Pulled apart and re-assembled a few times hoping to resolve, no help
All drives being used have been scrubbed and have no partitions.
Suggestion? Thanks in advance.

nVidia installer will not find Quadro P1000
I am trying to update to a later (the latest) nVidia driver 397.93 (recommended by the nVidia website download help) but when I run the installer, the "checking for compatible hardware" stops the installation cause it cannot find any compatible hardware.
Rightclicking on the the driver in device manager (searching for updates) will not find a new one.
Using the HP Support Assistant will not find one either.
But I have applications in need of CUDA acceleration using newer versions of the driver so I am sort of stuck.
Suggestions?
