    Since I got this monitor: HP Compaq l2311c 23 inch docking monitor it has never worked properly. Keeps freezing/crashing and I have to unplug and plug in the usb cable for it to wake up. It is so frustrating and I have tried to everything that I can think of. Installed the latest drivers, tried compatibility for older version of windows and also used another dock to connect the monitor. Please help!!

  • I was having some issues with my touch screen, that it was clicking the screen automatically, so i contacted HP via chat and the representative sent me a firmware that was not meant for my device and now the the touch screen is not even detected in device manager;  SO i request hp to send or create the touch firmware for my device .

    Hi, I'm triing to revive old HP Paviliont notebook, everything works except for touch screen. I dont know if pen input works (lost stylus) but finger input doesn't. When I try access tablet setting  I got message " A supported tablet was not found on this system", I have tried HP drivers and Wacom drivers but without help. Any idea which exact drivers should i try? Also I have disassembled the screen, chcecked connectors and all seems OK. Touchscreen may be dead after all but since I have an use case for this device involnivg touch, I would like to make it work again. Any ideas?

  • Everytime I keep my laptop on so it turns into sleep mode, or I close the monitor down when the laptop is still on, I cannot turn it on again as it starts flickering.
    I notice that the screen is usually totally black and the flickering increases as I touch any key on the keyboard . 
    It does not work again until I turn OFF the laptop totally and turn it ON again .
    There is no specific software or hardware change , as the problem is on the laptop from the first day I bought it 5 months ago.
    I am really disappointed to face such a problem in such a very expensive laptop!

    I'm having problems trying to play a few steam games on this laptop.  Most of them simply launch and then nothing.


    The latest I've tried is the "Wallpaper Engine" this actually produced an error when attempting to launch, (good in one way, at least now I know what to try and fix).


    The error that pops up displays words to the effect that the DirectX 10 drivers are either corrupt or not supported on my graphics card.




    I navigated to the drivers for my notebook, but there are no nVidia drivers, only drivers are listed are for the Intel on board drivers.


    I'm thinking if uninstall my current driver for nvidia, and then download HP certified nvidia driver and install it then I might get this blasted thing working again.


    So can anyone please help me to locate the driver, alternatively if they can help me to fix this problem in any other way.


    BTW I have the latest nvidia driver installed:

    GeForce GT 740M - driver version 398.82

    There is a black horizontal line on the display which have increased day by day.

    Hello HP Support, 


    I'm having a problem when using the Netflix app on my laptop. It changes to a grey colour tone after a few seconds each time I am watching something. It only happens when using the Netflix app, not when using Netflix in Chrome or playing other videos. I would like to use the Netflix app and this problem is very much affecting my watching experience. Changing settings for playing videos didn't work. 


    Any suggestions or ideas on how I could resolve this problem?

    I've got a problem with one of our HP450 G3 notebooks. Every now and then the screen will flicker, or blink for a moment.


    I ran the bios diagnostics test, returning a Video Palette Failure: GU1WKX-7SQ97F-MFPWLK-Q2AB03


    Where can I find more info on this failure ID?

    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

  • I notice that the laptop screen is yellowish as compared to my other laptop eventhough the night light setting is OFF. You can refer to the picture below whereby my HP Envy laptop is at the right side:-IMG_8529 (1).jpg

  • My laptop tells me that there are updates for the display driver. I click on the message and a window "Radeon RX Vega..." opens up (see the picture below).Radeon.JPG




    The system tells me I got version 17.xxxx installed (downloaded from the hp-support) but there is a version 18.x that is recommended. 

    I choose to upgrade to the recommended version but the only thing that happens is that I get a message (in Swedish) that says "Choosen driver didn't identify the current configuration". 

    Am I stuck with version 17.x for ever or what should I do?

    The display on my HP EliteBook 850 G4 is constantly flickering. So far, I have updated all of the drivers, and turned off virtualization in the BIOS. I am out of ideas on how to fix this issue.

    HI -

    Well, I'm stumped.

    This gorgeous HP 23" TouchSmart came from HP with Windows 8.1 installed.

    When I got it it had Windows 10 Home installed.

    I've installed ALL of the Windows 10 Updates.

    I've intalled the most recent BIOS Update.



        - Can NOT adjust the screen BRIGHTNESS.


    Current brightness is 'tolerable" - but not as BRIGHT as I would prefer.


    Can't find ANY driver or device setting to increase or decrease the current brightness level - either on the computer or on HP's site for this computer (which has NO drivers shown for Windows 10).


    Sure would appreciate some help from this forum.

    My screen has developed a big problem on the RHS.  About of a third of the screen can't be used.  Any ideas about  a solution?


    It is worth noting that when I tried to do a print screen, the screen shows up as normal on the image.  I ended up having to take a picture of the screen to show the problem with the screen.  I can also plug the laptop into  an external screen and see the whole of the screen as normal.

    When I flip the screen (and enter tablet mode) or press the button on the taskbar (summoning the keyboard), the on-screen keyboard only partly shows. It's a strange situation: the screen will display only the top-left section of the keyboard, and not in alignment with the rest of the screen.
