Dark patch in the bottom right corner of my screen

The bottom right corner of the screen on my laptop is dark at times. It appears to be a physical problem as pulling on the corner of the screen results in the darkness going away. It was infrequent at first but is now worse. How do I fix it?

Updated driver to 18.5.1 Radeon - laggy notebook

0

I have recently updated my driver to the 18.5.1 Radeon (AMD graphics) and ever since I've had a 'jittery' laggy screen. I completely reset my laptop, clearing all files. I did an extensive system test (turning off, spamming F2 and letting it run for 48 hours. After 7 loops, everything 'passed' - before I decided to cancel repeating the test, so as to use my laptop.

Below is my Diag report including graphics/ visuals. Hope someone can help me sort this and thank you in advance. Admdittedly I'm not too clued up on tech, so thought here would be the best place to come.

F9 and F10 no longer change brightness.  F6 and F7 still work for adjusting volume.

The only way I can change brightness is to swiped the touch screen from the right, but btighness control there is in 4 steps only instead of the 10 using F9 and F10.

laptop has blank display after driver updates

Hello, I've recently been having alot of issues with my device and was looking to see if anyone could help with some solutions. My device was originally running windows 10-1511 and was working fine until one random day the screen stopped displaying anything. I'm not sure as to what the cause was, but I did do a driver update a couple days before that could've been the issue. It didn't complete succesffuly and caused my device to freeze. Anyways, I couldn't get a signal on my screen unless I restarted the device over and over again for a good abount of time (typically 5-15 minutes) eventually I get a frozen HP logo. The only this I could access was bios, but when I tried to continue to windows, the device would freeze. I did a clean install of the newest windows (1803) and then I checked the updates and there were several drivers recommended. There were two critical- with one being a bios update. I selected this update and and then after it went though, it rebooted my device. unsuprisingly, the display was blank once again; however, no matter how many times I turn my device on and off, I cant get any display on my screen. I tried the hold "windows key and 'B'" method, however it doesn't work. Any idea why I'm having these issues and how to deal with them? I installed the drivers straight from the HP website.

Any help is appreacited,

Thanks

Hey. So I've been getting used to my new pc, but whenever I use the touchpad, the "search" thing besides the start logo always pops up. Can I deactive this somehow and still be able to use the touchpad? It's really starting to irritate me now. Please help.

Fn + F keys no longer working

Hello,

Two days ago, changing the brightness, the volume and so on via the Fn + F keys combo stopped working altogether.

I always keep the action keys mode off since I prefer direct input. Ocassionally, I do change the brightness via Fn + F2/F3.

However, only the primary function of said keys is the one responding even if I do use Fn right now (e.g. F3 toggles a search).

I've enabled the action keys mode again, however they still don't work even if I press them together with Fn.

Does anyone know what I could do?

HDMI does not work with some devices

Hi,

I wonder if anybody tell me why my notebook connects to my LG TV via HDMI cable and shows perfectly with clear sound but can not connect to any monitors with the same cable!!!

I have reinstalled windows 10 over and over and each time have installed the last ver. of intel and nvidia display drivers.

when I connect the laptop to monitors via HDMI cable, the OS is paused for 3 seconds and finally can not detect the device but when I connect to TV, It detects quickly.

Thank you.

Stuck pixels on the screen

Hi,

I bought my notebook over a year ago and two months ago I started noticing that some pixels in black background look red or blue (It's fine in other backgrounds and they only show themselves in dark color backgrounds) , So I took it to the center that has guaranteed (It's a third party working with HP not HP itself) it and they said it will take a while to replace it since they didn't have the display in store to replace it and because I was working on my projects with the notebook, I told them that I would bring it back a month later. After a month I took it there and they looked at it and said that my battery has swollen and that the pressure from the swollen battery has damaged the screen and It's not covered by the warranty but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't swollen the first time although the screen was faulty.

Please look at the pictures and tell me what to do. Is it covered by HP warranty?

Blank Display

Hello,

My Spectre x360 15's screen has stopped displaying images. It worked fine about 8 hours ago. I closed it and went to sleep and, when I opened it this morning, the screen was blank.

Computer still works fine otherwise - when plugged into an external monitor via the HDMI port. The camera still works - Windows Hello still sees and recognises me. Touch input still works. I just can't get the built in laptop screen to display an image.

Troubleshooting attempted:

- updated all drivers

- deactivated/reactivated the monitor in Device Manager

- power cycled/hard reset the PC

Please advise.

Thanks,

Ben

BR158CL Active Stylus Pen

Hi i am asking about a 2 in 1 laptop i just ordered from Sam's club. It was on sale and the price was too good to pass so i ordered it right away and it should get here next week. Now reading through some specifications online some sites are claiming it has an active stylus support, even Sam's club, but official HP does not list it in pen compatible devices. Confused, here I am asking for clarification here in the forums, if it supports it or not.

HD WLED-backlit touchscreen display driver

my HID compliant touchscrren driver is no longer installed.  Originally the touchscreen stopped working so i followed the troubleshooting support instructions and uninstalled it, forced restart by disconnecting my batter for 20 seconds (which was longer than the 10 seconds recommended) restarted my system.  Still not working... Device manager is not showing the touchscreen driver.  I followed all newer troubleshooting tips and nothing.  the restart never identified the missing driver to reinstall it.  driver is not missing, its not in ghost mode, ive updated all system and microsoft updates... still nothing.  which driver do i need to install to get the touchscreen to install?  do i need to do a factory reset?  I have already tried the recover option, reset keeping files and have reset deleting all files and documents.  I have also read so many articles that after the windows 10 upgrade, others touchscreen driver is no longer installed either.  What is the solution to this?  which drivers under the driver download section do I download.  After all of this and working on it for weeks, I no longer have the patience.  please just tell me which driver to download or how to get back to factory settings. I work off of my computer and i must have capabilties to use pen and touch.

Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Touchscreen not working and Intel (R) Trusted Execution Engine Driver issue in Windows 10

After a WIndows 10 update, my computer crashed, got the Blue Screen, no fixes so I had to start over - reinstalled Windows 10.

Now my touchscreen does NOT work in Windows at all, but works perfectly in BIOS and in Components Tests.

When looking in Settings, it says there is no Pen and Touch device available.  There is also NO HID compliant touchscreen device at all in the Device Manager list.

Also in Device Health, there are device driver issues detected, I use the troubleshooter, then "Apply this fix" and it can't detect the issue.

I have tried resetting the computer, reinstalling Windows, doing a Repair Install of Windows, I have downloaded related HP drivers to attempt to fix this.  I've got nothing, can anyone help me please?!

Here are screenshots of the steps and messages I get.  After running the troubleshooter, sometimes I get that it can't detect the problem, sometimes I get that it made changes but needs to be restarted - but it doesn't change anything after the restart.
