800 EUR notebook with useless switchable graphics!

$

Since HP can't update a pathetic display AMD driver from 2011 leaving me with 800 EUR notebook that can't run anything decent I will make sure no one I know will ever buy anything from such a pathetic company and I know a lot of people.

You just had to locked it so no one can update it from AMD directly ? Are you idiots or what.

Besides judging from your sales you are doing just fine even without me. The way you treat your customers it is no surprise at all.  I "love" how you posted an official response to this. Like if works fine if not go somewhere else with your money.

Spare me with your polite responses. I am done with your company for good.

I have an HP Pavillion g4, had a little over 2 years. Lately, when I start my computer up it has been displaying flickering horizontal lines like an old tv. I hooked it to my tv when it did it today and it did not connect or display what was on the screen. Is my laptop on its way out? Anything that I could do to save it?

Available drivers are YEARS out of date.

Why are the drivers for the HP ENVY 17t-3000 CTO Notebook PC years out of date, and why when I go to AMD to get the up to date drivers am I unable to install them once downloaded?

Shutdown/Won't boot when LCD cable is attached to MB

Hello all,

Apologies if someone has had this problem before, but I haven't been able to find a similar issue in the forums/online.

I recently replaced the LCD screen on my HP Pavilion Dv6t-6c00 (The part number for the screen is HP-Compaq 665335-001). After reassembling the laptop, I hit the power button to test the screen; nothing happened.

I eventually discovered that I could get the PC to boot, but ONLY if I disconnected the display cable. I even tried reconnecting the display cable while the unit was on--this caused an immediate hard shutdown.

I'm at a loss as to what is going on; I would have blamed some sort of loose power cable, but then why can I get the unit on at all? I can't imagine its a software problem, because I can't even get the unit to power on with the display cable connected--it's not that it won't boot windows, its that it won't turn on at all.

I have an external monitor for now--but I can't see bootup information on it, because the external monitor doesn't activate until Windows boots, and I can't get into the BIOS to change that setting without seeing the screen (it's really been a frustrating day!)

I'd really appreciate any advice or ideas! Here's some more information that might be relevant:

I have about a month old HP Pavilion x2 11inch laptop/tablet that has been working fine. Until i upgraded to windows 8.1 i had some problems with games running slow which i eventually fixed. But now i have a new problem when i put it to sleep it wont wake up. the power light comes on and makes a vibrate noise as per usual but no screen display! I have changed the power options and no joy so i understand it must be a driver issue as it was working fine before. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks in advance!

Radeon HD 7670m not working after switching to Windows 8.1

$
0
0

After wiping my hard drive completely(no possibility of recovery) I have instaled Windows 8.1 . I have installed drivers from ATI and Intel sites but they either didn't work or switchable graphics wan unavalaible. After this I deleted everything with admcleanuputility and tried installing drivers from HP - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5311482 . I have installed both in different combinations but it's unnecessary since Radeon Driver installs Intel components along with CCC. This resulted in being able to switch between power sawing and high performance in switchable graphics menu BUT. If applications are not specified or set to power saving they run(obviously on Intel HD 4000), but if I set applications to high performance they will crash on startup giving various error messages i.e. "Could not load direct3d"-League of legends, "Graphics device is not avalaible at this time"-Starcraft 2 or Windows informs me that applications has stopped working.

My laptop is HP envy-m6 1178sa.
I have installed directx and everything neccessary to run any of these applications.

I have updated my bios with your drivers.

I have support Assistan which solves nothing.

Dxdiag shows directx 11 and Intel 400 HD as video card as it should.

SIDENOTE:

I tried installing AMD_Catalyst_14.3_Beta accesible on http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx since every single previous release would not work or disable switchable graphics.

It resulted in applications starting and running but something is not working properly. It seems like very first frame is saved and display flickers between current frame and first one(with 60fps this is highly disturbing for eyes) making no use of any programs using either directx or .Net or 3d features. Interesting thing is this effect does not take place while set on "borderless mode". This is only temporary fix since only one application I use has this option.

Please help me with this issue.

ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j000 Touchscreen Problem - Tapping Itself

$

I have a very annoying problem with my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j000 Quad Edition that I'm hoping there is a solution for. If I close the lid without turning the laptop off and later reopen it to use it, a point on the upper left corner of the touch screen will randomly tap itself ever 20 seconds or so.  It's very frustrating, especially when you are in the middle of writing a long email or doing something on a website, and it taps on something that takes you away from the page. Ive had it with the issue. I have cleaned the screen to make sure there is nothing on it. Nothing is touching it, but it shows a circle like it has been touched. It is always in the same exact location. The only thing that I have found that solves the issue is to shutdown completely. The problem remains if I only restart. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.
