Hi, i'm trying to make my graphics work after replacing my HDD, with fresh install of Windows 7.

 

I'm using this installer from the support page: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50640.exe

 

It isn't really working, it only installs the ATI CIM (catalyst install manager) and nothing else. 

 

Tried installing the other one as well (intel only), that one works perfectly, but no CCC and no dedicated graphics of course.

 

What am I missing? I can't see ATI card in the device manager as well. Someone suggested to check the ATI switchable graphics option in power manager, that one is missing as well (only intel graphics options are present).

Hi,

 

Ever since the recent Windows 10 Spring Creators' update, I haven't been able to use the webcam which also means I'm unable to use Windows Hello (the face sign in feature). I have already attempted to follow the many steps recommended such as always updating Windows, uninstalling and then re-installing to the latest camera drivers and making sure that permissions for camera access are granted but none of them seem to work.

 

I definitely know that the camera still works as I am still able to access it in another operating system (Linux).

 

Are there any further solutions or is this something that needs to be reported to HP?

I bought a HP Spectre x360 last week for home and thought great it comes with the tilt pen. I have a work laptop the HP Elitebook x360 1020 G2, which I assumed that I could use the pen with as well. However after loooking online I see that it's not compatible.

 

Does anyone know why? What's the difference in technology that stops it working?

I am hoping someone here could help me out on an issue i am having.

 

When i bought my laptop it came with 2 graphics cards: Intel and Nvidia.

I am trying to run a pc game using the nvidia graphics card but i have literally tried everything and the game is still running with the intel card.  I dont think i have ever been able to use my nvidia card no matter what i do or try it just wont switch over to using the other graphics card,

 

Further I tried 

 

Switchable graphics card are self-managed by the operating system

Are you facing any lag on FPS while playing the game with the AC adapter connected / without connected?

Are you facing the same issue whit a different game?

Which games are causing these issues and are they online games or installed on your PC? 

 

In the meantime, let's Adjust the PC for best performance. 

 

• Go to Start Menu > click on Settings. 

• Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.  

• In the new window, go to the info Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance. 

• click Apply and ok

But didn't work and the problem still exist. 

 

Someone please help me out or let me know who i can contact to help solve this issue! Thanks in advance

Hi,

 

The screen stayed blank yesterday when I tried to take the laptop out of sleep mode.

 

There might be a faint ghostly thick line that might then widen for a bit, before disappearing.

 

I've tried rebooting but see nothing at all on the screen.

 

The laptop was purchased in Jan 2016 so is out of warranty but should still be covered by the Consumer Rights Act since if it's the screen then this is not a consumable and should still be working after 1.5 years.

After I've had the hard dish replaced, since there were serious problems with my notebook, the touch screen doesn't work at all.. it seems like it's disappeared completely!! Don't know what to do!

My screen was recently broken on my Envy and I wanted to know what I should replace it with.  I know that the screen was the upgraded 4K screen (non-touch).  My product number is L8V09AV.  Is it possible to classify it with this?  Thanks!

Specs

     HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1

     HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station - Product # 732517-001

     Windows 10

 

Two monitors connected to the docking station

Left is connect to the display port connector

Right is using VGA to USB adapter 

 

The Left monitor periodically goes black for 20 to 30 seconds

Only happens when it is on the docking station

I have circles appearing all over screen, screen size keeps getting larger by itself, there are scribbles appearing as if someone making irratical marks. I ran diagnostic touchscreen and mouse tests, changed resolution. Still having issues...Help will be greatly appreciated.

Every time that I turn my computer on, the touchpad seems to click and move itself all over the place... I have tried cleaning and drying it off many times, but it still sometimes goes crazy. I have even plugged 2 different external mouses into the computer, but it still does the same thing. I am fairly sure it is not the touchscreen, but at this point I am not really sure anymore!!!

I have a HP laptop I bought off HSN in Dec '17.  The screen is messed up, we don't know what happened.  I'm trying to find the serial and/or model number but it's no where.  There is some writing on the back of the laptop but can't read the gray writing against the purple background.  I've tried booting into safe mode using F8, F11 the escape/shift but I can't get anything to come up on the screen.  I need to send it in since it's still under warranty, I have the receipt from when I bought it.  I'm not sure what to do.

I just got this replacement and already notice a weird blemish on the trackpad after whiping it down. It looks like it disappears in the video after I whipe it but it's still noticeable while working. It's not a huge deal but I would relate it to a first scratch on a new phone. I don't see how I could have done this as I just unwrapped the laptop this morning and brought it straight to work in the leather case provided. Is there any reason for this? I've provided a video to help out but it looks as if it's defect in the coating on the trackpad. Anyways, thanks for your time.

UPDATE: I am able to buff it out over about a minute with a cotton shirt however after using for a few minutes it comes back. I can live with it, but I'm not happy. It's kind of annoying already having to "live" with something on a brand new laptop. What could this be?

Hi HP,

I was careless when I bought my HP ProBook 430 G4. I have just realized that the USB-C port is not compatible with display port/thunderbolt, in fact the speed, specifications of the Type-C port is nicely left out from the specifications: https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c05274396, which may be a little bit misleading. My mistake is that I didn't know USB-C means that the port is shaped in a USB-C way, and does not mean any further speed, function.

 

Although in the specs of HP USB-C Universal Dock (200$) and HP USB-C Mini Dock (100$) HP ProBook 430 G4 is listed as compatible, there have been many complaints on this forum regarding their compatibility. My question is: if I buy one of these docks and connect them to my USB-C (which is apparently not Gen 3.1), will the dock be able to output 2k/4k HDMI output?

Is there any way to connect two external QHD monitors to the HP ProBook 430 G4? (I think I can convert the USB 3.0 to HDMI with a converter.)

Hello,

 

I accidentally dropped my Spectre x360 convertible and basically it damaged my screen. I am looking for spare parts (screen FHD +digitizer) online for my model which is HP Spectre 13t-ae000 and i am unable to find any.

 

Can someone please point me to an online store which is selling screens compatible with my laptop. The location of the part is not a problem i can have them shipped from anywhere.

Hello.  Someone please tell me the exact model number of the video card this laptop is using. I am getting blue, green, yellow and all kinds of blurry screens at the time of rebooting even when both of the graphic cards are disabled.  So i feel i would need to replace them but i don't know the model numbers. pls guide. 

 

PS: In the device manager, it shows 2 graphics cards: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 and Intel(R) HD Graphics.

Hi

 

I work for an IT company and we've encountered a problem with the laptop that one of our clients uses for graphic design. The problem is mainly visible in Adobe Dimension.

 

The client uses an HP ZBook Studio G4 Mobile Workstation with integrated "Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 1 GB" + "NVIDIA Quadro M1200 3 GB". The laptop is connected via an "HP USB-C Universal Dock" to two "ENC EV2785" 4k monitors.

 

When opening Adobe Dimension, the program doesn't render any forms and shapes, as seen in screenshot below. It just shows a gray/white grid. The problem here would be that the integrated Intel graphics card cannot render it, although the NVIDIA card should definitely work (assumption).

 

I have already re-install

 

I have set the NVIDIA card as default for Dimension in the Windows Display settings, although this didn't solve the problem.

 

I have also tried opening Dimension on the laptop itself, with the docking station disconnected. This didn't work either.

 

I then disabled the Intel graphics card in the BIOS, by setting the graphics mode to Discrete (the extra power consumption is irrelevant for our client). After that, Dimension would still not render.
