Hello,
I am posting to the forum because I cannot find a way to email HP directly. Their chat function directed me to a warranty check page, and afterwards there was no way I could contact them simply because my computer is out of warranty.
I am writing to express the severe issues I am having with my computer. Upon bootup, it will either remain with a white screen, or cycle between primiary colors and gradients. I am unable to access my desktop or any of my files; it is unusable. I have searched online and found that a hard reset might be able to fix this, and I have tried with no success.
Doing further research, I found that I am not the only one with this problem and it may be due to a hardware issue where the motherboard sits too close to a source of heat and becomes shorted out. Other users have solved their problem by completely disassembling the notebook and placing a penny between the two components.
I have had problems with the display from the start, when I originally purchased my laptop if I tapped the bottom part of the display it would become fuzzy. It was a small, non-recurring problem and I was not prepared to deal with the severity of the issue now. I am not tech savvy, nor very proficient at taking things apart and putting them back together. I'm looking to get this problem solved by a technician who knows what they are doing. It seems that there may have been a class-action lawsuit towards HP or Nvidia regarding this exact defect, and I would really appreciate someone to touch base with me and let me know how we can fix this. It was a very expensive laptop, I really don't want valuable paperweight.
