about a year ago I posted here asking for the Spectre x360 13-ac000 touchscreen firmware.

There were several people who had the same problem. I can't post there because the topic is archived. I have good news! :)

HP has finally sent me the original firmware for my device! Well, they sent me 3 and 1 of them worked.

 

If anyone still has the same problem, you can get the firmwares they sent me from here:

The one that worked for me is Sphinx2.0 (FHD). After the install, I needed to reboot my computer for the touchscreen to work properly again. This did NOT fix the pen/touch delay issue but it fixed the bricked screen.

 

These are FIRMWARES! so, install at your own risk!

Hi I bought a pavilion X360 convertible 15-br013na for sketching etc, I bought an active pen but it doesn’t seem to be working can someone please tell me which one I need as can’t find anything in the internet

I have an HP 240 G5 and my processor is celeron N3060 braswell, and your driver update page tells me there is an graphic driver actualization sp85376.exe,  but its description says "Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - Broadwell (Windows 10 v1703)", if my processor is Braswell instead of Broadwell must I install that actualization? Thanks for your comments

**Preface** Been building and repairing PC's for nearly 20 years...

 

Got a Chromebook 11-v025wm I'm working on. Customer said it won't turn on.  I can see it's charging/charged and Power LED works, but the screen stays black. Acts like it is stuck in a sleep state. Here's the things I've tried/recorded about the laptop:

 

1. Plugged AC adapter in and LED light was amber color
2. Power LED is white, stays on for 15 seconds, goes off for 5 seconds, and back on for 15 seconds repeatedly. Like a sleep mode indication
3. Let the laptop charge over night for about 10 hours. Charging LED light is now solid white, no longer amber.
4. Power LED still doing 15 on/5 off
5. Held power button on keyboard for 20 seconds and the Power LED stays off. Pressing the Power Button causes the Power LED to come on and do the 15 on/5 off cycle as before
6. Opened the laptop up and disconnected the battery for 30 minutes. Plugged back into the board and same result of Power LED 15 on/5 off
7. Checked all cables and re-seated with battery disconnected. Re-connected battery, nothing changed
8. With laptop fully shut off, tested the Hall Sensor by putting a magnet near it and removing it. This caused the Power LED to turn on and then do the 15 on/5 off light cycle. Unsure if this is normal, but I would assume only the power button could turn the device on, not the Hall Sensor...

I have not tried any USB restore or anything like that. I also tried the trick of disconnecting battery, plug in ac adapter and then plug in battery. It did nothing.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

Edit 1: Disconnected the Hall Sensor from the board and still no difference. A new thing I found was if I disconnect/reconnect the battery, then connect the keyboard and press the Power Button, it won't turn on. It will only turn on once I connect the ac adapter. After that, I can remove the ac adapter and use the Power Button to turn off by holding it for 20 seconds and then back on after pressing it...

The screens will go black multiple times daily.

Hey guys, 

 

Had this laptop a little while now and the first thing I noticed on set up was the constantly changing screen brightness. 

I managed to turn it off by going to the intel settings (windows settings for screen brightness did nothing) and disabling adaptive brightness. 

 

However....Occasionally it comes back - I'm not sure why... but this time I cannot disable it (there was a W10 update that might be linked. 

 

For absolutely clarity, here are the settings that I have altered - They are the same for all plans/power modes although I think it only does it on battery. 

 

 

 

Can anyone help? I love this laptop but this one, ridiculous little problem will 100% prevent me buying another HP Laptop if it can't be turned off. 

 

For anyone wondering if I'm being pedantic, it adjusts brightness based on what's on the screen, so if you go from a white web page to a black program it reduces the brightness in really noticable steps. In addition I'm primarily using my laptop for photo editing at the moment and it really doesn't help. 

 

Please restore my sanity.

There's no model number in my laptop, but it has some id or what .. "IS 13252 (part 1) / IEC 60950-1" . Can someone please tell me which grafics card is instaled in my laptop so that I can install its drivers.

PS: I can't find the name in device manager or directX thing.

I've been trying to connect my Pavilion X2 to a projector using a HDMI cable. The projector is seen as an additional screen by the computer, but nothing is showing on it except a message saying 'no signal input'. I was trying the various multiple screen options in the display settings and selected the projector (rather than multiple or extended). My computer screen immediately went black. It returns if I unplug the HDMI cable, but then I can no longer select the multiple screen options to change back to a multiple setting.
Please can anyone tell me how to reset the multiple display setting without having the additional screen plugged in, or otherwise solve the issue?

I plug my HDMI cable into the computer and the computer recognizes the second monitor when I try to extend the screen but the second screen never displays an image, it remains black.  Window 10 updated the other day and I imagine this is where the problem comes from but i don't know where to look.  My drivers are update but one says there is a problem but don't know where to get this or how to fix it.  Both monitors are showing they are connected to Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1). But under device manager/Display Adapters it shows there is also an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series video card that doesn't have drivers anymore when it did before and I don't have an option to roll drivers back.  How do i get these and will this solve my problem...very frustrating!!

Hi

 

My laptop has started to play up a bit. It starts up fine and works ok, however when I use the shift keys (either one) it might work for some keys and not others. The mouse touchpad also plays up and stops working. In order to correct this issue, temporarily, i have to close it down and open it again and it works fine for a while after then stops again. The laptop is still under warranty for another 20 days. Would you be able to offer me assistance please?

I have brought HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Signature Edition from US about 6 mothns back. Now, touch screen got crack. Hence, looking for re-placement of it. Currently am staying in India.

hi,

 

my laptop's (hp envy touchsmart, windows 8.1, 64 bit) touchscreen has suddenly stopped working.

 

even under HID in Device Manager, the touchscreen option is not visible (screen shot attached).

Used a couple different video conferencing services and the camera is continually grainy. It is extremely bad, especially in comparison to the other people on the conference.  Really looks like something from 15 years ago. It says HD, but it is definitely not. HP please do not respond with have I checked my lighting, do I have a good wifi, or anything elementary like that. Is there a setting I'm missing? Do I need to return the computer for another? Or is the camera really this bad, in which case, this computer will be sent back for a full refund.

If I leave my my computer on for longer than 5 minutes I can't use the video player without restarting my computer. If I have video player up I can't leave it paused for too long or the video player will stop working and I will have to restart.

 

Also, if I bring it out of sleep mode the audio no longer works. I have to restart the computer to make it work again. 

Everything is updated to todays date.I madesure of it. And I don't believe I have any viruses. 

 

Anyone out there have any advice?
