While attempting to do some work with a new applicant, we ran across the unpleasant surprise of having a non-functioning rear (main) camera. The front camera works well for selfies or video calls. I have:

 

- attempted to search forums and found that others have had this problem and HP refuses to provide technical solutions. 

- reviewed privacy settings and found the Camera app NOT present in app permissions for the camera.

- downloaded alternative camera applications in hopes that this could be resolved.

- received the following error message upon trying to switch to the rear camera in  the Power Cam app:

 

Will HP provide a solution for their consumers or will consumers be forced to look at Samsung, Microsoft, Lenovo and other providers in our next purchases?

My sleep settings are at 10 minutes.  The system often goes to sleep in 5 minutes or less.  Lately (about every 5 instances of sleeping), it's impossible to wake up without a hard power off/on. 

 

I'm running 2 monitors off the laptop, and neither gets a screen when this occurs.

 

Any thoughts on a solution?

I have just purchased an HP large screen monitor to use with my laptop.  I would like top fold the laptop to the tablet mode to use the keyboard with the external monitor.  When I do that, I lose the physical keyboard function.  Is there any way to get around this?

Hi Paul, I know your post is from over a year ago but I'm in a similar situation to the original poster (HP Notebook 15-af110ca, but running 64-bit Windows 7 rather than 32-bit).

 

For the graphics driver, I navigated to the 64-bit version of the page you linked, downloaded, and installed. However, this graphics driver doesn't seem to be compatible with my laptop - it significantly lags/freezes after every 3-4 seconds of mouse movement. 

 

The driver it has installed is listed in Device Manager as ''AMD Radeon HD 8200 / r3 series" . However, the graphics card that the laptop has (according to HP's specification page) is AMD Radeon R2. Could this be the reason? I've searched high and low for a driver specific to AMD Radeon R2 but can't find it anywhere.

 

If you could help out, I'd appreciate it endlessly.

Hi,

I have HP Tilt Pen SPEN-HP-03 and HP Spectre x360 15-ch000na laptop.

 

I haven't figured out how to get Tilt -functionality working properly on my laptop, for example in Windows Ink.

 

There is a video reviewing this MPP 2.0  and at 3:05 it shows how this tilt functionality works.

Do I need to download some kind of driver or mess up with the settings? And does my laptop support MPP 2.0 and tilt functionality.

need to have attached monitor always be primary with laptop lid closed.

i set monitor to be only monitor to use. i set clos lid option to be "do nothing".

yet when PC awakens from sleep or startup, primary screen is back to being laptop's.

i have to go back in and re-establish attached monitor as primary, no secondary.

 

another thing i need help with.

when laptop is asleep, USB attached keyboard and mouse cannot wakeup laptop.

i have to open it and press its space bar to wake it up.

My laptops screen went totally white and I've taken it to two different places to fix (i don't live in the U.S or in a place with an hp center to go fix it directly).
In the second place i got told it's the inverter and I'm trying to find this piece but someone told me that the model of my laptop (An Hp 2000) doesn't have one and have to replace the whole screen ?? ?
I'm confused and need to know if this is true or whatsoever. Urgent.

I have an HP ENVY 13-ad007la. I connected my USB C to the HDMI adapter and it does not detect the display.

 

It is now identified as a USB 2.0 Billboard device, which I think means that you are not setting up Displayport's alternate mode correctly.

 

This is what I've been trying to do:

 

Press Windows - P to change the project mode.

Entering the display settings and detecting the display.

Check graphics driver update, USB drivers, check for updates.

Using a different USB C to HDMI adapter, a different TV and a different cable.

Safe start without running services.

 

Any ideas on how to set up the screen?

It fell and the screen came off but it was still attach to the laptop but has a black screen and my mom isn’t exactly sure about the date of the warranty what should I do ?

Hello! The webcam stopped working. Prior to that, it turned on at a different slant of the screen, now it does not work at all, I suspect the camera cable. Can you give me part number and service manual?

Hello.

Brightness quick buttons (fn + f5, fn+f6) and "microphone off" button (fn+f10) stop working after automatic updates of BIOS and display drivers. I'm not sure when exactly.

 

What can I do with that?

When I'm asked for my password to login I can only type numbers but when it asks for the code A1B2C3 I can type that ok!!???

The laptop is actually an HP Notebook, 2016 model. Gaming notebook. 

I bought it in February of 2017. It was brand new.

It has a warranty running. I still have 3 months of Warranty. My Warranty had to be reset to when I bought the notebook and take into account the issues I have had.

The issues are experience are the following;

1. Occasionally the cursor just freezes. Everything would be just fine. When there is a movie playing or music, they would not be affected. The notebook recovers simply by me unplugging the power and re-plugging if it happens when connected to power or by me connecting the power if it happens on battery.
2. The most importantly, from time to time or intermittently, maybe twice a day and for a few second the LCD would start flashing or flickering as shown in the video attached. That happens for seconds and the notebook then recovers.

I have had the following changed;

• Motherboard
• LCD
• SSD drive
• RAM modules
• I have formatted and reinstalled the OS.

And yet the problem has persisted.

What can possibly be causing this?

Have used two displays for 2 or 3 years with no problems. Now, thesecond display was blank at switchon, and Settings doesn't show the option for adding a second display.  It still didn't work when I replaceed the second display with a known good one.
