Blue screens and thermal throttling
Hi there, I've had my Spectre for about a month now, unfortunately I've been encountering consistent problems with the machine overheating and thermal throttling during games causing heavy stutter and slowdown, often ending in a bluescreen (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE). I've been in touch with HP Support on Twitter and we tried many things to solve the issue, various updates and even reinstalling Windows, with no success. I was recommended to contact HP Phone support but will need to wait until Monday, so I decided to post my problem on the forums for now.
I have heard of many others with this issue, and some without. Is there anything else I can try to fix my problem, or is this looking like a return-and-replace job?

problem with video
Good morning
I have a problem with my computer. in video playback (example: youtube or film) it happens that everything is blocked for about 1 or 2 seconds and then resumes to work and then re-lock again for about 1 or 2 seconds. not a network problem because when it happens, the whole screen is blocked, prevents me from leaving, changing video or pausing. is there any driver to download that can solve the problem?
help me please.

My laptop makes an eerie noise and then crashes.
I bought my Laptop in UK. I've been using it for around 4 months. recently, it has started to make eerie noise without any reason and than crash and restart. I've tried to play game(fortnite), it has crashed everytime while making that noise.
what should I do? I live in Bangladesh. I don't think there's any service center in Bangladesh.

White screen

Dim display on boot
HP 6730b running windows 10 64-bit. Fully updated Windows.
Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)
The display is very dim on boot but restarting Windows resolves the problem.
Last Device manager Events shows '\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_30DD103C&REV_07\3&b1bfb68&0&10 requires further installation' even after reboot (and display brightness is currently normal).
Tried uninstalling display and letting Windows reinstall on reboot but on next cold boot display is dim again.
Keyboard controls do not seem to make any difference.
Night light etc in windows is turned off, display controls show brightness at 100%.
The only thing that seems to work is to restart Windows.
Any suggestions?

HP OMEN graphic
Hello,
So i have a question regarding my cheap low quality and useless laptop HP OMEN 15-ax000ne
i bought my laptop in 2016. after 6 months of purchase my FAN STARTED MAKING NOISE.
obviously some cheap fan from foxconn is going bad (compared to the graphic fan from DELTA which still working fine)
the problem is common with HP you may google and look at the tons of results.
i ignored the fan noise and using my laptop since.
Three days ago i received update for BIOS and graphic Card. (updated both at the same time)
and suddently BSOD. i restarted my laptop and my graphic card is giving code 43.
i tried every possible solution :
1. reinstalled the driver
2. reinstalled the previous driver
3. reflashed the bios again with the latest version
4. tried to reflash the BIOS with the previous version F45.A but not possible (not working)
5. tried the WIN+B to flash the older bios from USB
6. tried WIN+B Bios recovery (recovery working but im still on the F46.A BIOS)
7. I tried to reset the LAPTOP (F11), (there was a problem while resetting...)
8. Tried the HP Recovery (started the format, started installing software and drivers and suddently stopped)
nvlddmkm.sys error. and thats it
because the recovery formatted my HDD, i cannot boot to windows anymore.
i used Microsoft Media Creation Tool on another laptop and installed fresh copy of windows.
and the result is below:
Laptop is working but:
I cannot create recovery media for HP (recovery partition still there)
my graphic card not working (only Intel)
there is no recovery option anymore when i press F11
So now what i do with this cheap laptop ? to the trash?
im still on extended warranty but im trying to solve all the SW issues till i give up and give it back to service centre to check the HW (motherboard most probably is gone. typical HP Quality)
after installing the fresh windows install i was able to save my work (at least)
Details about my laptop (nothing, specs as per HP website, Softwares as Per HP, used for few games and internet surfing)
BIOS Version F46.A.
graphic cant be installed, everything else is working.
tried fresh install using DDU, downloaded the oldest driver. tried BIOS DOWNGRADE cant be done.
so now my laptop is a piece of plastic because i updated my drivers.
HP WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW ?
I decided not to buy HP anymore but when i saw the OMEN i said maybe its high end high quality but again i was wrong.
I hope the service centre (which is the next step coming after i lose hope here) will refund me to get a new laptop from different brand. for the 1200 usd i paid i expected higher quality laptop.
I am open to any solution and will revert back within minutes.

Laptops with touch enabled screen
I hope and I think , that being an hp user the laptops with touch enabled screen should have an option to enable or disable the touch effect accordingly by the choice if user. It would be lot better and life would be lot easier.

no pen and touch input avialable for this display
Hi,
I have my HP ELITEBOOK 840 G1 Laptop previously my touch screen was working fine with windows 8.1 pro but once i have upgraded the window to windows 10 home my touch screen stopped working. I have checked for the every avialable solution for the same but none has worked. In HID option in device manager there is no driver as such HID-compliant touch screen even in system properties it's showing no pen and touch input avialable for this display. And even in component test there is no option for TOUCH SCREEN kindly suggest me the same.

Clean install complete, Can't change screen brightness.
Recenlty completed a clean install due to hard drive failure and have most drivers i needed installed. But the screen brightness can't be changed now for some reason.
I must be missing a driver but don't know which one it is, if someone could please help with this.
I've tried the HP manager assistant but gives me no actions and tells me no drivers are missing.

Small Blobs Onscreen
Hello, so I've pretty much gone through a process of elimination with my laptop's display, and I'm still unabke to conclude wether these dark spots oon my screen are dead or stuck pixels. They aren't totally black--almost brown and look like larger specks of dust (which is what I thought they were until they didn't rub off), and aren't visible given my display has somthing dark on it. I've used multiple methods to try and 'jump start' the pixels, but I'm yet to find a solution. Can anyone help me recognize what's going on with my laptop?

Brightness Keys not working on Elitebook 840 G3
Recently, my FN+Brightness keys have stopped working. They still function as function keys, just not as brightness keys. Every other key, such as volume works just fine. I am on BIOS version 1.2.5.

Grey screen issues
I have bought (converted to HP brand for the first time) the following computer two weeks ago and I am already facing problems... http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/pavilion-gaming-laptop/overview.html
Everytime I open illustrator or photoshop or chrome or unity or anythign that has a grey background , the screen will kind of flicker , turning diffrent shades of lighter grey until it becomes very light grey.
The initial starts with dark grey and then screen slowly shows me diffrent shades of grey one by one until it stabilizes into a light grey.
Please help , I was really happy with a new computer and now I am not.

graghics card for windows 10
I am trying to connect my hp pavilion dv7 4065dx to a monitor via HDMI without success. The HP screen shows fine on the ASUS Monitor when I use VGA, but nothing shows when I use an HDMI cable. The cable works fine on other computers. My display adapter shows as an ATI mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series.
1.) Any suggestions.?
2.) I suspect the display adapter is the problem. I am running Windows 10 Version 1709 Home. How can I replace this adapter. I think windows 10 doesn't handle it.

HP ENVY x360 15 Drivers (Ryzen)
Hello. There are many of the issues with graphical software with HP ENVY x360 15 Ryzen 2500u (15-bq101ur).
The first and the main issue is that AMD AMF api does not work, it allmost crushing. This means that the HD 4K movies are played mostly by CPU, not by GPU. AMD fixes related issues in drivers version from 2018.02 but no update from HP yet.
There are also some another issues by HP drivers itself: they does not detects video hardware correctly.
All issues are documented and can be distributed to the support team if it could help.
I have try to return notebook to receller but it say that two week returning interval ended (only 2 weeks by russian law).
I have called to HP support team but they say me only "wait-wait-wait" for new drivers.

ps. Notebook was bought specially to works with AMF api. HP doesn not note customers that this official vendor API not yet updated and HP does not have plans to update it.

cursor that moves and opens menus and windows irratically
The cursor on my display has begun moving, jumping the screen positions and opening windows or menus every few seconds. I have rebooted, changed out the mouse, tried using the touch pad and tried just using the touch screen. Any suggestions?
