How do I completely disable the auto-contrast on the HP Pavillion N5Y72UA#ABL?

 

When I'm working on a dark image the contrast dims and when I'm working on a bright image the contrast brightens. As a graphic artist this is very annoying because it is vital that my monitor be consistent.  A quick search on the internet shows thousands of people hating this "feature" and wanting it disabled but none of the sites show solutions that work with the Pavillion. The Intel graphics control panel doesn't even look like anyone else's.

 

Who thought this feature was a good idea? Who thought it was a good idea to make it the default? Who thought it was a good idea to make finding the way to turn it off virtually impossible?

 

Please, someone, help me destroy this "feature" once and for all.

Hi there,

I am getting VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (atikmpag.sys) in my HP ProBook 4540s with Windows 8. Tried updating AMD Graphics card driver but it doesn't helped. I tried disabling the AMD video adapter from the Device Manager, it helped me to boot my Laptop but I couldn't change screen brightness and I could't project my screen to a second screen which is absolutely necessary for my job.  Can someone please help me.

I am having trouble in connecting my HP2311x LED monitor with my new Hp 250 G5 Notebook using HDMI to HDMI cable. Whenever i connect that the laptop blinks like there is a connectivity but the monitor shows the Error "Check Video Cable".

Monitor is working when connects MacBook. I don't think that it is HDMI cable issue because i changed 2 HDMI cables and both were new.

I think there must be a Compatibility issue regarding the devices or any Configuration issue for the HDMI cable.

 

NOTE: Attaching VGA to VGA works but on the monitor ends it shows blurry screen, Readable but not looks perfect and quality resolution. I don't know why?

 

Any Advice regarding this issue would be very helpful.

Good morning,

 

Today I updated my laptop to Windows 10 Pro x64 ver.1803. After the update, I cannot connect my laptop to external monitor due to a problem with graphic card driver (Intel HD Graphics 620, driver ver.23.20.16.4877). When i use WIN+P on the right menu there aren't the four classic options (Computer only, Duplicate, Extend and Projector Only), but the right menu says: "Your PC can’t project to another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or using a different video card."
I tried to reinstall graphic drivers but still doesn't work.

 

Any idea?

I just installed the most recent Windows 10 Update, and as usual, the Fingerprint Reader isn't functioning. I have gone through the steps I normally do to get it working, but this time it isn't fixing the issue. Is there a new driver that I need to download and install?

Hi,

 

I purchased this laptop about a week ago and everything is great except the trackpad becomes useless whenever the keyboard is in use. It's not the end of the world but it is essential for certain applications. 

 

I have already tried to troubleshoot the issue myself by: Disabling SmartSense in the Synaptics trackpad mouse settings, and my chipset and bios drivers are all the same versions listed in the support section of the HP website. 

 

Is there anything else I can do?

I have had this laptop since the middle of March. Shortly after getting it (but after the return date was over) I noticed a white stripe when I scrolled down/up. However, the stripe came and went pretty quickly so I wasn't sure if I did see something. Since then the stripe has appeared a couple of times (the last time there were two white stripes); the stripe only appeares/disappeares when scrolling, it isn't a fixed thing on the screen. Also it has never appeared when playing a video. I've managed to take a couple of photo's of it. Hopefully someone can tell me what the problem is and hopefully it isn't something serious and it's fixable. Thank you.

hi i have hp pavilion 6090ee . my issue is when i install amd driver for ati 6770m then restart stuck in black screen before that when format laptop and install driver working perfect but now icant install driver . the ati 6770m show in device manager i try another driver with fail any thoughts.

Hello, my laptop has the problem that the screen sometimes distort for a short time and that since i bought it 2 years ago. Now the screen has stucked for 5 minutes and directly after my laptop turned off and restarted but the screen didn't wasn't turn on. After 10 seconds my laptop turned off and i couldn't restart it again. The "turn-on" light was lightning for 2 seconds after i pushed it and my laptop stopped directly. That happens everytime i push the ON-button. I can't start my laptop anymore. Sometimes my laptop stays on but the screen is black and the capslock button lights 3 long times and two short times again and again. Can you please help me? Thank you.

I have the Zbook 17 G3 with Thunderbolt 3 Dock.  My Zbook display plus 3 display ports connected to the Thunderbolt although 1 is connected to the Thunderbolt connector through a dongle.  All work fined before the April upgrade to Win10. Now one display will no longer work even though it shows up in the configuration.  Monitor 3 and 4 connected to display ports on Thunderbolt 3 Dock, monitor 2 through doggle.  Display 3 works, 4 does not.  Unplug cable for 3 from Thunderbolt and monitor 4 comes to life.  Plug 3 back in then 3 does not work.  Unplug 4 and 3 comes to life.

When I first updated to Windows 10 everytime I would press the Prt Sc button a screenshot used to be saved to a folder. Now all I can do is the original press Prt Sc button and paste the screenshot to Paint. Which is fine. I just liked having the screenshot saved to a folder and be able to edit it in Paint later. Has it been removed in newer updates and we can't do it anymore or can I turn it back on if I want too? I am just curious that's all. If that is no longer possible it's alright. Thank you.

Intel Driver and Support Assistant identied an update for my Intel HD Graphics 4600 product.  Downloaded the update but it will not install due to error message as follows::

 

"Driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.

 

I then ran HP Update and HP Update shows no new updates available.

 

How do I resolve this conflict and install the updated Intel HD Graphics driver?
