Whenever my laptop goes to sleep or I close it, upon awakening it shows a colorful screen with vertical lines, and the curser is a square .

 

A hard restart usually gets it back to normal.  I have used HP Support Assist and the system setting function  to download all recent updates, but the problem persists.   I was assisted remotedly by one of your technicians but the problems still remains.

 

As far as I can tell, my video drivers are also up to date. I have only had this laptop for about 3.5 years or so and only use it for basic functions like Microsoft Office and media storage.  It has never been dropped or damaged.  I NEVER download anything that isn't from a legitimate source and my virus scanner doesn't detect anything.  Can anyone please offer me some advice?  I'm scared to lose what I have on this computer.

Hi, my pen currently works with my device, but I was wondering how to actually pair it by bluetooth so that I can configure the buttons and make sure of them even when my pen is not in contact with the screen.

Clock setting changed to 12 hour format.  That worked on all screens except in the calendar at

the bottom of a photo screen.  On that screen the clock is still 24 hour format and I cannot 

find a way to change it?

HP elite book 8440p drags and plays scratchy videos when using while charging and works well on battery.I have tried to ensure advanced battery settings are same for plugged in and on battery but it has not worked.I have also tried to change the charger but there is no change.please advice.

FWIW, I have exactly the issues as you with my HP notebook w/Radeon graphics after being updated to 1803. I first tried installing updated newer graphics drivers from HP with the same results, and then even tried even newer (April) drivers directly from AMD Radeon without success. The computer will work for some indeterminate period of time even with the failed drivers, but within a day or so it will go to what must be like some weird 16 color/corrupted graphics mode, which rebooting will correct for a while longer. I'm still within the 10 days that Microsoft allows to roll back to the previous release, so I'll be doing that... but this is certainly something that HP needs to investigate.

I own an HP Beats (Red) laptop and while it is not new, it has limited to no use; because we are always having some kind of issue with this laptop.  So, in this sense, it is a new laptop.  Here lately whenever we use the laptop the screen does a lot of flickering, glitching, and the screen gets larger.  Also, upon turning the laptop on the very first thing that pops up is the DVD screen as if we are watching a movie.

Hello. I am looking for an estimate of what a screen and hinge replacement would cost on my laptop.  The screen itself is  cracked and displays nothing but a white screen.  The touch feature is not essential, but I would rather it work than not work.  The right hinge is also broken and is most likely the reason the screen broke.

Good afternoon.
I bought a HP 15-bw540ur laptop 3 days ago. But there is a problem, the operating system defines the video card as 535dx (drivers were downloaded from the manufacturer's website hp.com). Also updated BIOS and it too didn't help. There is also a performance issue. When I bought a laptop, I checked the performance with the one I replaced and the laptop (hp 15-bw540ur) performance should be more powerful. In fact, the performance is much worse and I decided to check the GPU with using GPU-Z. There I saw that the fan speed of the GPU = 0 to GPU Load 0%. Is there a problem? It is impossible to work with a computer and 3d graphics

Hello, I have an issue since I have my new Laptop HP Pavilion 17 ab204ng, if I’m playing games no matter witch one, then many time I switch between game and desktop or other problems the game switch graphics from dedicated to internal and my fps drop like from 200 fps to 40fps and that’s a big problem becouse I’m streaming on twitch and if I’m looking for something on my desktop and switch to my game again I must restart the game every single time.

CPU: I5-7300HQ
GPU: GTX1050 2GB
RAM: 8gb Smasung 2400Mhz Dual Channel

Options tried:

 

1. Clean installing all drivers, rolling back drivers, turning off drivers.
2. forcing the Game to use Nvidia Card in the Nvidia control panel.
3. forcing PhysX to use the Nvidia card.
4. Updating windows updates completely.
5. trying to play in all window types (borderless, fullscreen, windowed) the problem happens mostly in fullscreen mode
6. closing any overclocking or background apps while playing.
7. Windows downgrading there is no problem in windows 7
8. Disabling Full Screen Optimization

My screen changes from warm to cold colors when I'm watching movies on Netflix. It happens both when I'm using the Netflix app and when I'm using Netflix via Internet Explorer. I don't experience the issue when watching videos or movies via YouTube, Facebook or other movie providers, but it's not a problem when I use Netflix on other computers or the TV.

 

I bought the computer like a week ago and it's been like this from the start. How do I fix it?

The right hinge broke and the hinge arm that attaches under the screen has popped out. Computer is 1.5 years old. I see tons of other posts about poor hinge reliablity and design. I'm not a happy camper.

My brightness cannot be adjusted anymore in control panel or by the keyboard buttons. I have read other suggestions about going to the device manager but everything says its enabled and up to date, yet it sitll doesnt work. Thanks!
