I have just bought Elgato Thunderbolt 3 dock for my 8th gen HP Spectre X360 13-ae003na.
Data and video connectivity all works perfectly, but the laptop is not charging at all via Thunderbolt 3 port.
Has the fix to enable charging via 3rd party Thunderbolt 3 dock been found?
I have the problem with HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx recently purchased. The port nearest the screen will not charge the computer or work with Thunderbolt 3 adapters for HDMI or Ethernet. The 2nd port works fine with all of these adapters and also charges the computer.
Does my HP Envy x360 15bp 1xx have Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) , or how can I check that?

Hi, I can't seem to get the fingerprint reader to work on my Elite X2. I can see the synaptics driver installed in the programs and features but I cannot see the fingerprint reader in the device manager. This is a brand new unit but I wasn't able to use it for almost 2 months right out of the box because the battery would not hold charge. HP just repaired it last week by replacing the battery, so this is the first time I'm actually using the tablet PC. Everything seems to be working well except for the fingerprit reader. Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance.
So I just bought this computer as a replacement upgrade for an older verion of the Envy 360. Both of em use the AMD APU, the new one is using the much faster Ryzen APU. Here's the major problem and I would like to return the product because of this..., The new Envy has only 256mb of vram, the old one has 512mb. Because of the that all the content creation software I use, Photohshop, 3dsmax, and Substance Painter, do not fuction well. Photoshop requires a minimum of 512mb to use the gpu enhanced interface. Substance Painter now constanly get's corruped video memory in the display of what I'm working on. 3dsmax viewports have a serious dedgridation in the quality of the display, making it harder to use. Now on my older Envy computer those programs all work without those issues.
Now I know APU's they share there sytem memory with the cpu and gpu, so even though I got an memory upgrade to 16gb, I didn't get any upgrade to vram. The way APU's work is that there's a setting in the bio's that allocates memory to the vram, and after checking I see there's no access to that. I tried support, and I was told I needed to buy a better computer.
No where on the product page of the Envy x360 z15 is the vram mb listed, it only mentions the cash size, and that it's Vega graphics. I feel like I was miss informed.
I bought this computer as an upgrade, but for me it's really a downgrade. I bought the computer on march 23, it was shipped march 31, I recieved it april 6th, now today I want to return it (april 19) but it's telling me it's not eligible for return.
Please help, either improve my vram memory by changing the setting in the bio's or let me return this product as now it's just usless to me. I would even consider store credit.

Im wondering if anyone can help me out. Ive just purchased a HP Envy 360x touchscreen laptop which came with a very basic stylus pen. Unfortunately this pen isnt really up to scratch and tends to lag when being used for fine detail.
I'm a graphic designer and need a top quality pen for my work. Ive searched the internet for any suggestions, but have only come accross contradictions.
Can anyone recommend a high quality artists stylus pen for this machine?

My question - as I bought a hell expensive machine which I wanted to be future proof:
How can I get on an external monitor the resolution of 2560x1440 (which btw my 4 year old Surface Pro can do via Display Port) without "stressing" Intel Graphic Card?
Buy a USB-C (Thunderbolt) to Display Port converter? As also Dell suggests higher/native 2560x1440 resolution only with Display Port...
Any hint/response is truly appreciated!

When we use NB to connect hdmi port with projector, the projector screen in the bottm will sometimes blinking in a few seconds. Although we try to update video card driver, but the situation is still as the same. The hdmi length is 2M. Thanks a lot.

I appreciate all the help and ideas I've received but still have one more issue. Following up on this notebook having download issues with the switchable graphics driver problem. Got this thing to the point where I have ruled out board being bad, I think, and when I download driver, actually have a good picture but, still makes it crash, works in safe mode with networking. Now the only problem is, it says driver is not compatible with Aero, which from what I can tell, it obviousy is. Can't get this to run in Windows normally but, am guessing that there is a setting I need to adjust and/or, if I could run the Expierience, it would fix itself. Have spent many hours on this but, believe I'm making progress. Any ideas or insites would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, my laptop screen goes blank during boot up with the AC adaptor plugged in. It works fine when I am using the battery power. I had tried the fix with installing the Intel chipset driver as proposed by DavidPK in another fix but it tells me that my version is not supported.

Hey all! So my screen flickers, gets lines, goes dark, etc. whenever it is moved or at the wrong angle.This has started within the last month or so, and have tried updating the drivers but nothing has worked yet. Any movement of the screen causes a chance of it going blank with lines, and it only gets fixed if I move more to find the right angle for the screen to go back to normal
I have had my laptop for a little over a year and the problem is just getting worse- I will be in the middle of using my computer and the screen starts to flash between my screen and a black screen. It happens for about a minute and either stops or goes completely black and requires a restart. Can't seem to get in touch with hp at all so I'm hoping someone can help. My windows IS UP TO DATE.

I've bought this laptop(HP 250 G6) and I still don't prefer going on Windows 10 OS since windows 7 is still working brilliant for me. Since HP hasn't made drivers for windows 7, I managed to find few working for everything, but 'switchable graphic' software. Since I'm playing game or two of League of Legends and CS GO, I'd defenetly prefer my dedicated graphic to do the work(radeon 502 2gb ddr5) than Intel HD integrated grahpic. So does someone know or have a link where I can find proper and working switchable graphic software?
P.s I'm new to the HP company and community and sorry for my broken English.

Recently I tried my computer camera and when it opened up all I get is a very dark screen and with two buttons one for the camera and one for the video, although I can't see what I am taking, the camera does work and the picture is clear when I bring it up although my face is not central in the screen it is in the bottom half of the picture.
I cannot see any " Settings button " so I can do no adjustment to the screen regarding size, brightness ect.
I uninstalled the the driver in device manager and after it reinstalled I tried again but no luck I then tried ti uninstall the camera but it would not uninstall I may add I am not computer literate and these I tried after read support forums and thats as far as I dare go on my own.
I also loaded "Cyberlink youcam 5" and that screen works fine and I don't have Skipe so cannot try that and when I purchased the computer it had windows 10 but I did not like this so went back to windows 8.1.
Hope this info helps someone to help me.
