Hello,

 

I've searched quite extensively on this forum for solutions to my problem. I used to have a first generation Spectre x360 and my Dell stylus worked fine. But since I've upgraded to a newer version of the Spectre x360 (ae001nd) since yesterday, I seem te have lost the ability to use it.

 

I'm not 100% sure if the stylus is compatible with this new spectre, but I believe this to be the case. I've already updated a lot of drivers, but still to no avail. (bios, chipset, HP pen control)

 

Who has the solution to this problem?

I'm searching for an Active Pen/Stylus for my pc. I've found that the only one which works on my spectre is the model J4R51AA, but I live in Italy and I can't find it anywhere, only in hpshop usa. Can someone tell me if the hp shop usa ships also in Italy? Otherwise, there is an alternative pen that I can buy?

On my laptop the applications do not see my discrete Radeon R5 m430 video card.Help me solve the problem.
P.S.Installed the latest drivers from the HP website

1. When I bought the laptop, mouse pad/buttons were working perfectly well.

2. After recent updates in windows 10, synaptics touch pad doesn't work. Tried 2 drivers and older drivers (https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-ac100-notebook-pc-series/8499326/model/8667045). When I go to devices, sometimes I get unrecognized device. I tried uninstalling it and installing synaptics drivers. Once it worked, but the keyboard stopped working (even at this  point, tapping for clucking wasnt working). Tried hard reset. Tried uninstalling the device, reinstalling the device. Tried uninstalling it and not installing the driver, hoping that the generic driver will get installed. It doesnt work.  I had to remove my password during these experiments, since without warning the keyboard will go off from devices when I install synaptics driver, and I had to use onscreen keyboard which was also difficult since the USB mouse I am using would double click when I single click. That issue is there all the time now. Two issues with usb mouse - left button gets stuck and I need to press multiple times to get it released, and when I click once with left button it becomes a double click. It is not a physical key defect, since I can go to mouse test pages and test my mouse buttons. There it works perfectly, when I test it for clicks. One click, it says one click. Getting stuck happens when I use it in windows, web pages, explorer etc. It is very painful. Tried hardware diagnostics from HP. There the mouse buttons work correctly and pass the test. I think this has to do with Windows 10. I may have to throw windows 10 away, and install windows 7 or XP I guess. I always use thinkpad, and for once I shfted to HP and my life is miserable now!

 

At present, my synaptics doesnt work, and in device manger I have synaptics smbus touchpad below mouse with a yellow marker. Update driver doesnt work, it says latest driver already installed. I have tried the  sunaptics drivers from hp site, but nithing works. As I mentioned, it worked two days back for one day, but the keyboard disappeared. I tested the synaptics touchpad keys, and it was found ok, no lockups, except tap for clicking wasn't working.

 

Is there something I can do before I  throw away windows 10? I am almost sure if I install a different OS it will would work fine. The problems started 2 months back when windows updated itself. With newer updates, it isnt becoming better.

Hi I have a presentation next week and the hinge of my Elitebook 2540p is wobbling.

Does anyone know if the screen and camera will continue to work if the hinge breaks?

Debating whether or not to get it seen to before the presentation!

Any one have any experience of this?

No matter how I change my sleep mode settings, my laptop goes to sleep after about 5 mins. Plugged in or not. I even set a screen saver mode to 30 mins. Still annoyingly goes to sleep if I stop working for 5 mins.

Yesterday, when I was using my computer, a gray layer began to appear on my screen. It is a transparent layer, and everything below it does feel slightly distorted. Whenever I try to screenshot this layer, the picture doesn't show it, so it is probably something that has to do with the screen itself. I managed to click a photo of the screen from my phone below:

This is really a big problem on these beautiful Pavalion DV7 machines!

 

 

I am really not happy that there is no proper support of these machines to keep them going.

 

Bios is so old and more and more problems are being experienced.  Catalyst Control System problems has never been resolved!

 

Switching gracpics has been a major problem for so long.  Any so many people have been having these problems.

 

Any thing that is branded is starting to fall apart!  What is happening HP?

 

Is your brand also tumbling?

 

I have supported HP products for so many years.  Now I am starting to worry my decisions!

 

Looks like a move away from Microsoft etc is the only way forward.

I have never had this problem before. I have done a complete reinstall of windows and all my drivers are up to date, there is no dust in my laptop and i have extra fans blowing underneath it. Whats up with that?

A couple weeks ago I bought a beautiful HP pavilion x360 13".

And for a week it was like a honey_moon.

But accidently I broke my screen. My mistake.  It's cracked now.

 

Trying to buy a new screen I found :

Display panel kit - For 13.3-inch AG HD USLIM HD TS display panel - Includes eDP cable, bezel, magnets...

 

Okay.

If I buy this stuff as "exchange" it will cost me less.

 

Okay, I saw the sign:

Exchange 2: Please return your defective part to Hewlett-Packard within 3 working days after you receive the replacement part. 

 

The question is - do HP-guys consider my broken screen as defective? Will they accept my broken screen?

Or they call "devective" only new parts?

Hi,

 

Today when I started my computer, it didn't turn on as expected. First of all, it took forever to turn on (like more than 5 minutes). Once it turned on, my desktop display assembles extremely weird, including icon font, also the time display that's normally in the lower right corner is not there anymore. The font for my control panel is also abnormal. Is this a system bug, or does it have anything to do with my computer hardward?

after recent updates to win 10, i noticed my hp start screen was red. this screen has always been black. I noticed while checking the color for personalization, that the color for black was actually red as well. tried all troubleshooting, checked drivers..no issues or updates for display, etc was required. Is this a bug? my os is windows 10 pro and amd dual core.

HI I was wanting to replace the screen on my laptop because it has quite a few dead pixels and the screen I have at the moment is not a touchscreen but I was wondering if I could replace it with a touchscreen instead?

Hello,

 

I would like to use HP Z5000 with 2 laptops running Windows 10

 

I installed on 2 laptops. On ASUS and Surface Pro.

 

However, when I connect it to ASUS and disconnect it from ASUS, it does not connect to Surface Pro again. I have to reinstall it.

 

The same happens when I first connect it to Surface Pro.

 

Can't I use it with 2 devices.Does the mouse restricted to use with only 1 device?

No Sure View/Integrated Privacy Screen on the brand new £1800 HP Spectre x360 Radeon Vega 1TB version - very disappointed. Why is HP marketing these features ? Will there be a firmware upgrade to support this in the future ?

I have recently bought a hp pavilion x360 13-u135TU convertible PC. I have the microsoft ink programme pre-installed in it. I wish to use a stylus. I want to know which type of stylus would work with it. I wish to correct pdf and word documents apart from drawing sketches. Please let me know if you had used a stylus with this machine.

My touchpad was working just fine last night and this morning I turned on my laptop and it just won't budge. Help please? It didn't fall or anything, it was unplugged for the night, I have no idea what could've caused this. External mouse is recognized and works fine though.

I have had a HP stream for about 4 months and it has worked fine. However, there has been a problem of low storage for a while, so we decided to reset the laptop so there would be more storage. There was not enough storage to even reset the computer, so over the span of a week or so we deleted and deleted and deleted, to no avail. We have a 1TB hard drive and have backed everything up on there as well. A few days ago, we ended up deleting everything we could, all the programs that we were able to, and that’s where the main problem has started. We turned the laptop on the next day, and logged in as usual, but nothing loaded past there. There is a blank screen with a mouse on, that works and responds withought flashing, but nothing else. The screen clearly isn’t broken, because pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete brings up a menu, and the task manager works, it’s just the home screen displays nothing but a cursor, and nothing we can do seems to help. We suspect we’ve deleted an important program that helps it run, but we have no clue what, or if that is the case. Hopefully someone knows how to sort this.
