I tried all the tips I saw in this forum nothing helps.I tested it with HPtest   and the codes I got are:

Mouse/touchpad pointer test failure ID : PUSEXH-76192K-XD7V7G-G21503

Audio playback test failure ID: PUSEXH -76192K-XD7V7G-21RV03

Thank you.

The Cyberlink Power CD/DVD Drive on my HP Envy dv7 notebook,  still play CD'S but won't play DVD'S,  Thenever I Try

I get this message from Cyberlink prompting me to pay £45.00 for an upgrade,  I don't understand why I need to pay

more money for a product that was installed by HP when I first bought the product,  in effect Cyberlink is asking me

to pay again for a product that I previously paid for,  the Laptop is an old one,  everything except the dvd drive performs

exceptionally well,   I'm inclined not to purchase this upgrade, for fear that in the future Cyberlink will Require me to

pay more money for any future upgrades,  I think Cyberlink should be more honest with customers,  and let them

know just how long their products will last, before it become obsolete;   any suggestions on how to get around this??

How do I reinstall drivers to get touchscreen working

My touch screen has stopped working and HID drivers have disappeared in device manager. I have checked hidden drivers etc and they are not there, I have fully checked to see if the HID compliant touchscreen driver is anywhere else in the device manger, but it is not.

I have tried uninstalling, updating display drivers, monitor drivers and drivers relating that are currently in the device manager, however upon restarting they come back the same and toucscreen does not help.

I have tried recovery but it does not come back.

I have read many posts

The touch screen works perfectly fine in the diagnostics program.  but will not work once system started. It seams that when windows is loaded it changes the drivers.

I have used the HP site and windows system checkers and these have not helped.

Have also used Driver Toolkit to see if this helps to no avail.

Photo of device manager drivers which return if I remove and restart. Apologies for it being sideways..

Hope what I have posted makes sense.

Help to rectify this without removing the battery and clearing the bios etc.. would be appreciated.

fine vertical lines throughout display

Hi,

I am having this issue of vertical lines throughout the screen, even when I use the BIOS settings screen, this issue is existing since 4-5 months.

I have factory reset the laptop multiple times, and upgraded the BIOS too, but the lines still persist.

I have upgraded and downgraded the graphics drivers for both the - intel graphics card and nvidia graphics card, but the lines are still visible.

I ahve contacted HP support in India - online and I visited the service centre too, but they were unable to help me resolve this issue!

My laptop is a HP Pavilion DV5-t, 15.6 inch touch screen laptop.

Can you please suggest, if the display is to be replaced? If so, how much would it cost in the US? Can I purchase the display unit in India, as I travel frequently to India?

No signal from HP Elitebook G2 to HP ZR2740w, tried many displayport cables and drivers with no luck

Hi, I can't get my laptop (HP Elitebook G2) to work with my monitor (HP ZR2740w) via displayport cable. I've tried 3 different (new) cables. The laptop's displayport output works with my other monitors, and my monitor's displayport input works with my desktop. So none of those are at fault. All of the 3 displayport cables work properly too.

But for some reason, I just can't get the picture from the Elitebook to show up in ZR2740w, the monitor's screen just remains black whatever I try. I've tried uninstalling and installing different drivers, tried ATI driver setups and everything I can think of with no luck. You'd think that two HP products would work together fine but after countless hours, I'm unable to get the picture from the HP laptop to the HP monitor.

If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it, otherwise I'm forced to replace the monitor with something that actually works. Thanks!

External screen turns off when laptop closed

I use an external monitor.  Normally when I close the laptop, the external monitor adjusts to its resolution and works fine. But all of a sudden, now when it close the laptop the display turns off entirely. How do I fix this? Can't find anything in HP or Windows 10 Support covering this issue.

Possible solution to HP Envy --> Program-screens are very very small

It seems like the previous thread about this issue is locked, so I'm posting a new thread because I found a solution for myself, which I wanted to share with others in case it helps them too.

There is a post on 'Superuser.com' by a guy called Laurence MacNeill.  It wouldn't let me post on that forum until I had earned 50 points (and I'm not sure how long that takes), so I wasn't able to thank the man for the grief he has spared me, but may God bless him.

He says the following (the option of 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' was called 'Overide DPI scalling behaviour' instead for me.  I don't have Windows 8, but Windows 10, so this is not specific ally for 8):

I have noticed that if I do the following, it fixes the problem for me. This problem was NOT fixed for me by upgrading to Windows 8.1. I still had apps that displayed incorrectly, and even one app that flat-out detected the screen-resolution incorrectly (it kept telling me I had the resolution set to 1536x864, when it was actually set to 1920x1080.)

Find the .exe file for the program that's giving you trouble (usually somewhere in the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)" folder.

Right click on said .exe file. Select Properties from the right-click menu.

On the Properties window, click the Compatibility tab.

On that window, you'll see an option that says "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Make sure that is CHECKED. Then click OK.

Reboot after you've done this to all the .exe files you want to change.

Problem solved!

Hope this helps someone.

how to connect 2 external monitors to HP Envy

I had a 3 years old Spectre working very satisfactorily with two external monitors, I just changed it for a HP envy 13 but cannot get the monitors working properly - I use them for work. I have tried two different USB hubs, and plugging in direct but its very flaky. I wish I had never bought the Envy and maybe should have b ought a Mac, but I have so how do i make it work well?  Do I need a proper dock, if so which one, do i need to upgrade something else? I am not a techie - so keep it simple please?

How can I update the graphics driver? If I download the driver from the Intel site, it says that my device is not validated for it, and I should download it from the manufacturer.

Lost screen connection through USB-C Tavel Hub

I have got 2 brand new HP screens connected to a brand new HP laptop. As there is only one HDMI port, the second is connected through the VGA-port of a  HP USB-C Tavel Hub .

It is quite annoying to repeatedly find the second screen deactivated, notifying 'no signal', when starting the machine or when returning after a break. So far the only thing I found to get it working again is to temporarily unplug the USB connector from the machine.

I do not think this is supposed to be. I might move to using another HDMI cable on the hub in the future. But in the meantime: what is going on? Is the hub simply broken? Is there some setting?

Keyboard not responding

I bought this laptop 7 months ago, and today I was using it all day with no problems. When I opened it back up in the evening, the keyboard wouldn't work when trying to type in my password. I used the on screen keyboard to log in, and the keyboard still wasn't working. I restarted my computer, it did a Windows 10 update. The keyboard still didn't work. Then I tried restarting and pressing the esc key repeatedly which did nothing. Then I uninstall edit the keyboard from device manager and this also did nothing after a restart. Is there anything I should try, or will this need replacing? No food or liquid or anything was spilt on the keyboard so unsure what made it stop working.

Screen brightness change fn keys not working

The hotkey fix and the bios update also did not work for my Zbook Studio G3. The hotfix made the audio hotkeys work, but the display backlight and the keyboard backlight hotkeys still don't work. Can you explain the how to set the keyboard driver to  "Standard PS/2 keyboard"?

Tablet mode does not engage.

Tablet does not autmatically work, I can only manually turn tablet mode on and manually rotate my screen. To make matters worse keyboard and touch pad stay active. None of the walk throughs on any of the forums have helped. Has done nothing but waste my time. These problems occured litterally after I had warrenty work done and right as my warranty expired. Contemplating on just getting rid of my HP all together.

Yes, I have reinstalled/ updated drivers.

Yes, I have checked the Tablet mode settings.

Yes, I have done a factory reset.

Yes, I updated my bios.
