Hp Care Pack

Hi,

I recently purchased a second hand envy 13, over the last few days i have noticed blotches on the screen.

These blotches are more visible on a black background its like the backlight is bleeding throug.

My question is if i purchase the Hp Care Pack and Extend the laptop Warranty would a screen replacement be covered?

I will attach photos so you can see my exact problem.

Thanks in advance

Ashley

how many monitors can EliteBook 840 G3 handle

Is there a limit to the number of monitors an HP EliteBook 840 G3 and HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station can handle. It looks like 2. Could be 2 external monitors with notebook monitor closed, or could be 1 external monitor with notebook screen active. But not 2 external with notebook screen active for a total of 3.

I was wondering if i can replace my broken screen with any different type of screen even if its not touch screen? i can't afford to buy the same exact model screen because its very expensive. So is there ANY screen that can work in my laptop even if it wasn't hp?

thank you.

Need to change drivers to factory version. How can I do that?

I updated some drivers with DriverBooster 5. When finished, the TV that was connected by HDMI went black. I tried everythinig for 4 hours: other TV, other HDMI cable, all sources of input from the TV, other computer. Anyway, I did it "just in case" since there's no reason to think that the physical integrity of the cable, the computer port or the TV port could be compromised. It is definitely a software issue as it was at the moment DriverBooster was used that it stopped working so it must have been a driver malfunction that started at that precise step.

I searched online for thousands of recommendations and nothing worked... from the silly "duplicate or extend display" or "change your resolution" to the more complex devicemanager driver management or, finally, system restore (once I realized there was no other solution). Unfortunately the latter didn't work either. After system restoring to the exact point before the update there was no improvement, so I tried updating drivers with Windows Update and manually from DeviceManager but, however, it's still malfunctioning. I contacted Intel and they took remote access of my computer to install their drivers for my graphic card (Intel HD 520) but it still didn't work.

The Intel support team recommended me installing the drivers that came with my model in the factory settings through HP website as those are the only ones fully checked that will definitely work. How can I download such an specific set of drivers?

HP Envy - connecting external display

Hi,

I am strugling with connecting external display/tv to my HP Envy. As there is no HDMI port on board, I purchased USB-C to HDMI adapter (i-tec C31AHDMIPD: https://i-tec.cz/pl/produkt/c31ahdmipd-7/ ).  Envy do not recognize any external display/tv i have neither on Win10 not Linux

If I understand correctly my Envy model support Alternative DisplayPort mode in order to transfer video via USB-C (specification). So does purchased. In the internet I am unable to find any information what adapter I can use with my Envy.

Please point me any equipment  that let me take video out of my Envy (HP official one or not), I do not want to buy many adapters to test ony by one.

okay so i have the Hp Pro Tablet Active Pen which works with my laptop but not perfectly. it stops working sometimes and i have to wait for it to work again, and in all honesty, i dont know if its the pen or the computer. but i wanted to find a better pen so i ordered the Hp Active Pen which, from the research i did, i was let to believe it would work. after i got it, i learned that it isnt compatable. then i found that the Active Stylus would work and then i found that it wouldnt. so what i am asking is, can someone make a comprehensive list of ALL (not just hp brand) pens that would work with my laptop because im so tired of being lied to and unlied to and confused. also, does the x on the hp compatability page mean compatable or non compatable? please update that so that i can know becasue even if i look at the list i dont know what the x is supposed to mean.

HDMI port stopped working - can no longer plug in a second monitor. No device shows up in sound devices when HDMI is plugged in, which makes me think it might be a hardware problem.

Everything (graphics card driver, operating system) is up to date.

Please help!

Hp Pavilion Dv7 amd display Adapter missing

Hi all

So my laptop was working perfectly until a couple of day ago, my laptop was giving the BSOD because of my AMD graphics Card.

I fixed that problem by rolling back the drivers but for some reason i decided to uninstall the DEVICE (not Driver please don't get confused) and now it doesnt want to pop up in the display adapters.

I really had no idea what i was doing until it was done.

Ive reformatted the laptop to check if it would bring it back ... no luck.

Ive tried resetting the BIOS ... no Luck.

Ive reinstalled the drivers for the AMD card ... no Luck.

Ive also tried to open the laptop and try disconnect the card and reconnect it like a CPU chip but of course its built into the motherboard.

I would really appreciate any help in this matter, this laptop is great for what i need and id hate to trash it for this one little hiccup of mine

Thanks

Feedback For laptop I recently Purchased

Hello,

I am a student at Montana State University and for my Interaction Design class, we were tasked with contacting a company/service that we thought possible improvements could be made to improve a products Design Aesthetics. I recently bought a HP laptop that had a touch screen enabled on it, and was intially really impressed with the "smart" design and the emotion that I got. After some time however, the screen became cracked, which provided me with a problem. Since the screen was cracked, it acted like someone was always touching the screen at different parts. This meant I could not sign into my account from the homescreen log-in page to turn the touch screen off, so the laptop had no usability.

A possible improvement that would make the laptop a lot more effective and efficient would be to have an external button on the laptop that could turn the touch screen on and off. This would have solved my problem, and for users who were in a situation where they did not want the touch screen on, would be a responsive solution for them to do quickly do so.

With that being said, I did truly enjoy the laptop before the screen became cracked, and would have no problem buying another HP as long as it was not touch screen. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I would really appreciate any response to this suggestion from an HP associate.

Thanks, Collin Feight

DAMAGED LAPTOP SCREEN NOT UNDER WARRANTY

Hi All,

Seek some advice and letting off steam too.

Just bought laptop <4mths ago from Harvey Norman - North Ryde - together with Product Care Replacement.

Screen cracked and damaged (used by a high school goer - no surprise there). Thought that it was represented by the sales person that Product Care Replacement covers wear and tear including damaged screen. It doesn't. It seems I have to specifically purchase something called Accidental Damage Protection - which Harvey Norman DOES NOT provide.

Neither does HP manufacturer warranty cover.

Was reading on a US forum that it was covered without charge by HP USA, after the owner kicked up some fuss.

Any chance of the same here in Australia, NSW?

Regards

Hello,

I am using a HP Zenbook 15G3 mobile workstation. Recently I found after turning it on the screen is flickering with horizontal lines scrolling through the display. When I connect to an external screen this problem disappears. Below I put a link of a video showing the problem which I just explained.

Could you please help me to figure out the problem and suggest some possible solution?

Request for guidance on gaming laptop displays

$

I'd like to share an experience and ask for guidance on HP laptop screens, specifically in gaming laptops.
I recently purchased a HP Omen 17-an020nb notebook, and unfortunately I'm having to return it.
The screen is disappointing, there is a distracting ghosting and motion blur (slow response time), which makes this model unfit for gaming.

I've been using HP laptops for about 12 years now, both professionally and at home, and it's the first time I've felt let down by a product. I'd love to buy a HP gaming laptop but I don't trust that I will get the quality that I've come to expect.

I'd like to ask some help by answering a few questions?
Maybe this will help me find a solution...

-Are there any other models in the Omen 17 series that have a better display panel?
-Can a display panel be replaced by a better one?
-Is it possible to look up display panel specs beforehand, before buying? Most resellers do not take back opened packages.

Any other info is appreciated as well.
