Whenever I try screen sharing in Skype the other party sees a totally black screen with only the mouse showing. I have 2 HP laptops, a Pavillion and an older Elitebook. They both exhibit the same symptom. I also have another (non HP) laptop which works perfectly, as well as a non HP desktop. The problem is only in the HP laptops. Amny suggestion? Thanks!

WIn 10 Creator's Update messes up display adapter resolution
When I install the Windows 10 Creator's Update my laptop's display adapter stops. The laptop monitor does not display the correct resolution and any attached vga monitors are not correctly identified and display a clone of the laptop display.

XP-Pen Graphics tablet for photo retouching
I have come to the conclusion that trying to do highly detailed retouching (like removing ink lines from a face) with a trackball is insane . I think I need a graphics tablet. Could I get by with one of the low end "Star" tablets XP-Pen sells or should I spring for a small XP-Pen Star05 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MAZ5FDL ? Or are there other, cheaper manufacturers I might consider?
I will be using the tablet for some types of retouching work only, not drawing or anything else.

Problems to disable automatic brightness in Notebook HP - 15-ac089nl (ENERGY STAR)
Hi, I have a problem concerning the deactivation of the automatic brightness of my HP Notebook - 15-ac089nl (ENERGY STAR). It happens that when the image changes in the screen the brightness of the screen changes automatically (increases or decreases) while remaining in the same percentage. I tried to deactivate the automatic brightness as indicated in other forums but in the settings there is no "automatic brightness" item, you can only adjust the level simply. do you have any solution?

HP Elitebook 8440p BIOS
Hi! My HP Elitebook 8440p shows no display on startup. I tried to look up for the latest BIOS version from the HP support website and I could not find any drivers compatible with my OS to download. My PC runs on windows 10 64 bit. Could anybody help me find the right BIOS version to install without damaging the motherboard. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Green pixels appear and disappear randomly
Sometimes when I'm watching a video online (youtube for example), the image gets disturbed for a second to a few seconds. (screenshot below). The image normally restores after a few seconds, but I still don't think this is supposed to happen anyway.
Does anyone know what causes this problem and how I solve it?

cracked screen on spectre

I have noticed on this forum that there are 16 pages of comments regarding the screen cracking ineplicably near the camera. This has happened to me and I am being quoted £450 to repair. I can catagorically confirm that it was not damaged by me and am amazed that HP have not recalled the products. It is quite clearly a fault with the screen. Can anyone offer advice as to whom I contact.

Touchpad not working
The touchpad is not working on a Probook 450 G4. I have tried updating the driver, rolling back the driver, uninstalling the device and scanning for hardware changes downlaoding the latest driver from HP's website, and I have applied the factory default settings in the bios. Are there any other things I could try, or am I down to the problem being a hardware issue?

HP Truevision HD Not working
I had a Windows update, following which the Truevision HD does not work.
I have tried all the suggested fixes:
1. Downloaded Cyberlink YouCam.
after this the You Cam said it could not connect to the Cam.
2, Downloaded the UEFI check, and ran it.
It say the Cam is working ok.
Devices says it is working fine, but I can not get it to work.
FIrst issue was using Zoom, when it kept coming up with Privacy Issues; I can't recreate that as it was when I was using Zoom live.
No idea what to do next.

When I close the lid
I've added an external monitor and keyboad and set my power options to do nothing when I clos the lid. The monitor still shuts off when I close the lid. Is there any other setting that would prevent this?

Problem in gamming

I Bought a notebook very recently and I'm having issues with playing any game.
Specs:
Intel I7-7500U @ 2.70GHz
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 2GB
OS Windows 10 64x Home Edition
I've tried games like Dawn of War II, NFS SHIFT, NFS RIVALS, Fifa 15. All of them with every possible settings, low, med and high. Happens all the time. It begins with very good fps than it drops drastically about 10 seconds and go back up again. This appens every minute.
I've already gone to NVIDIA control panel to verify if everything is ok.
I've already go to advanced system settings in Windows and turn off every visual effects.
I've already tried a clean Boot.
I've tried uninstall the drivers with DDU and install it again from HP.
I've tried uninstall the BIOS a install it again.
I've tried looking for the main foruns for the games I play, and try every single solution that they presented me. Nothing works, the problem persists.
Can anyone help me please?

Fix for HP 1012 x2 G1 Rear Camera Failure
Hopefully this helps someone. I discovered a work around since HP is dragging behind in driver patches.
Step 1) Download and install latest Intel Serial IO drivers. The ones on the 1012 driver page did not work for me. I ended up using one off of a Dell machine. This version is one minor revision higher than HPs.

Step 2) Download the CAB file here from Microsoft Update. This CAB contains a higher driver revision for the Skycam than HP is offering at the moment.

Step 3)Download the SkyCam Download from HP official website and extract its contents.

Run the Setup.exe as administrator, reboot, enjoy!

My keboard doesn't work when using the Bamboo Ink Stylus

I have a bamboo ink stylus which works fine. But when it is active the keyboard, both real and the touchscreen doesn't work properly. any key pressed or touched will load random apps. this is that same in tablet mode. The only way out of this is to reboot. Everything else including the stylus works fine.
