I just replaced the 0 Drive in my RAID-0 Array on the laptop (I had already repolaced the 1 drive a couple years back) as it was failing. Now, after reinstallation of Windows and all the drivers, the display is simply black. There is some backlighting during boot, and once in a while, the screen willl refresh and show as it should, but then go black again. I am now using my Notebook, but with an external display, so everything about the computer is working fine, except the built in display.
Some syptoms that I did notice, along the way to this end: Nothing on bootup, then a flash of light, then parts of the screen would display parts of information, sometimes fuzzy, and low res, then a blink, then other parts, then a burst of visual static, then the display came on. Now, it doesn't even do that. It just stays black.
I DID instlal the latest drivers for the video drive. and I did attenpt to install the beta drivers, but that resulted in a completely black screen. As that failed, I did roll back to the recovery time before the beta attempt, and things did work again. Till it didn't. I want to point out that this is NOT just in windows, it's also in the boot sequence, and if I try to go onto bios. It's black all the way, not just in windows.
