Since there is no F7 key, etc. on my HP Pavilion laptop, I don't know how to use the "fn" key to work with another key to do a spell check, etc. Is there a list of functions when using the fn key?

HP Pavilion dm4-1165dx Display Blank
The display on the HP Pavilion dm4-1165dx is blank. It actually is a mix of blue and black with some lines going horizontally and vertically. I hooked up an external moniitor and the external monitor works so I ran all the windows and HP updates rebooted and ran the HP Support Assistant and it came back that everything was okay. Now what??

dm4-1160us Screen flickers and then turns black.
My dm4-1160us display flickers and turns black. Have to reboot several times to get the display to work. The screen blacks out occasionally when I turn on the computer and doesn't seem to fit a pattern when it will or will not stay on. It usally works after I run a diagnostic or restore. Once the display stays on for over a few minutes, it then work fine for the rest of the session.

hdmi output
hi, Im having the same problem, the HDMI output of mi DM4 1063cl is not working, I connect my Desktop with HDMI cable it has AMD integrayed graphics and it works great in FULL HD, but my laptop does not give me any response trough HDMI, it has intel 4000 Graphics and does not have many options to configure the output, all I can do is use VGA cable but only give's me 1366x768 and everything looks way to big on screen. got this laptop as a gift. it comes with a Core i5 Quad, and 4 GB of RAM, Integrated Intel 4000 Graphics. can anyone help me?? I have like a month trying to solve this.

projector screen
I have an HP with Windows 8 I am not able to see anything but my desktop screen when I plug up my projector to it. It doesn't matter what website I go to. I am able to see a powerpoint if I open one?

Win 8.1 Black screen on resume, no Brightness control (Resolved ... sorta)
HP Pavilion DV6 3131TX.
After trolling websites and forums, updating this driver and that including ÄMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series, nothing worked.
Win 8.1 Black screen on resume, no Brightness control.
Worked perfectly under Win 8. This Win 8.1 was a clean install BTW.
So I started to experiment with a Macro to refresh the display drivers on resume, ie disable/enable display drivers in Device Mananger.
Before I started Macro Recording I took myself through a trial run, and low and behold, disabling the AMD driver mentioned above, all functionality returned.
I then re-enabled the AMD driver and instantly (almost) got a black screen.
So, another reboot then went in and permanently disabled the AMD driver. All good.
Go figure.

windows 8.1 low memory when playng full screen games
hi i just brought an hp pavilion g7-2270us laptop 2 months ago updated everything including 8.1 update the problem is everytime i try to play games fullscreen and even small screen depending on the game i get a message that my memory is low and i need to stop the game or my computer will crash and sometime the game does crash. i have intel hd graphics 4000 6gb and 750 harddrive i have not downloaded much more than what came with the computer and i don't know or understand exactly what the task manger is doing so if anyone else is having this problem and has a solution please post because i love my games and i would like to get back to enjoying them without any issues, God bless

cannot set full hd resolution in envy 15
I've bought a envy 15 j092nr (Product number: E0K19UA#ABA) that has as specifications a 1920x1080 display. I tried to set this resolution but the maximum resolution windows 8 lets me select is 1366x768. I have all the updates from windows, hp (including BIOS), intel graphics card, chipset and nvidia drivers. But I'm still unable to set a larger resolution.
I tried disabling NVidia graphic adaptor, then disabling intel hd graphics adaptor and nothing changes.
Contacted HP support and they've done the same as me, tried to (re)update all drivers. They want me to send the computer so they can do a hardware test. But I've bought it two days and I don't want to wait for 9 business days for a solution in this way, before that I would go to where I bought it and ask for a refund.
Does anyone know what can be happening or have heard about somethig similar? I wasn't able to find a similar post.

1117-sh GPU fail
Hello!
I have a pavilion 1117-sh notebook with the fallowing graphics card:
AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
AMD Radeon HD 6470
It seems like the card is not working.
I have watched some online stream and the screen gone to pieces.
I rebooted everything worked fine except the browsers (Chrome, IE). They were all black, with the standard widows frame on top if it.
I have reinstalled the whole laptop, installed the video card driver, and the Cataclyst Center says that there is no compatible video card, or no driver installed. It's installed, I see it in the device manager, with the yellow exclamation mark. Sometimes I got blue screen of death with "BAD_POOL_CALLER"
My warranty expired, so my question would be, where should I bring my laptop to get repaired?
How much would this cost? I simple estimation would be enough based on I need to replace the GPU.
I tried to search for this graphics card's price, but no success.

I tried the all solutions for this problem but none worked. Therefore, I decided to re-install my original Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. After installation, while Switchable Graphic Mode is Fixed, my Laptop keep freezing. I looked for this problem on the HP Forum but no solution worked even though I updated Bios, Chipset and so on.

My screen blacked out on me
Hey I'm not quite sure what happened but now my screen won't come back on despite the power coming on and off. I don't have a removable battery which is what everything I've read has told me to do, so I'm at a loss as to how to fix.

Secondary screen on Pavillion laptop running Win 8.1
I have attached an external screen (Benq senseye) to my Pavillion laptop without problems but...
How do I swap sides for the external screen attached to my Pavillion laptop running Windows 8.1 ?
By default it expects the external screen to be located to the right of the laptop, which is good for right handed people but for left handed it is not :-)
In previous HP laptops running XP and Vista there was an option to select sides for the external screen but in Win 8.1 it does not appear to be one or I cannot find it :-(
is this a Win 8.1 or an HP "feature" ?

BSOD on HP Pavilion dm4 1160us graphics-related

Whenever i am playing games (it has only occured while playing until now), in about 5 to 10 minutes a Blue Screen containing the following information appears:

I have a dv6586se laptop running Vista 32bit. The webcam was working fine, but after reloading the computer, it doesn't recognize the webcam at all. I can't even find it in the Device Manager. What can I do to get it working again?

HP 2000-2b43DX Notebook PC Webcam Wont Work
I have a HP 2000-2b43DX Notebook PC laptop, and have experienced problems with the integrated webcam in it. It worked before, but for the past couple months it hasn't worked. I have the latest version of cyberlink youcam, yet when I open it, I get a window saying "no webcam detected. if you are using an integrated webcam, make sure it's switched on."
Also, whenever I open the camera app from the start screen, it prompts me to connect a camera. I've been through countless forum posts, and uninstalled, downloaded, and installed countless different drivers to help the issue...
