Dark patches on display when running on battery

When running on battery, I frequently get dark patches on the display. These appear are on the bottom half of the display, either in the center or one of the corners, and they cause about 1/6 of the screen to be darker than the rest of the display. They are not completely black, just dark.

 

I can temporarily fix this by turning the brightness all the way up, and then back down again. But the patches will come back in 20 minutes or so.

 

I never get these when the computer is plugged into external power.

I am connecting a hp 24w monitor to my hp 15 notebook via HDMI. I have a wide black border around my monitor screen. How do i fix it? https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01775596 provides no help.

The Touchscreen does not work.  I had to change the Hard Drive and Load all the Drivers.  Where is the driver for the Touchscreen?  Help Please

I have zbook g3 studio from last week since I have installed drivers I am having screen issues whenever I put laptop on sleep mode and then open it up screen got disappear . is it hardware fault or software ?

SPECS:

Laptop - OMEN by HP Laptop E9N33EA#AB9

OS - Windows 10 Home 64-bit 

Microprocessor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz

RAM - 16GB

Graphic Card - GeForce GTX 965x / Driver - 390.77

 

Hi so the thing is that recently my laptop when I updated my graphics card driver by nvidia experience, the amount of fps I get on any game lowered severely, being able to play witcher 3 with good graphics with 60fps to a merely 6fps max.

 

So I went back to my older driver, and for the time being everything went back to the same, me being able to play my games. But now even with that driver every game just has low fps, my laptop seems to be ignoring my graphic card and just goes with the integrated graphics, which is kinda annoying. After that I installed the most recent driver and still nothing, so I went and unistalled it plus everything that came with it, and for some reason it worked for the rest of the day, I played PUBG, Witcher 3, League of Legends, without any problem, but has soon I turned off my computer and went to bed, on the next it was the same thing, my games were using the integrated graphics.

 

I went to check the NVIDIA Control Panel and I made sure that the games had the option to use the High-Perfomance NVIDIA Processor but still nothing. Please I need help solving this issue

I have a Probook 450 G2's LCD screen that has gone blank. It boots up fine, but nothing there. Connected an external monitor to VGA port and it's fine. Checked that display wasn't set to display external screen only. I just happened to have another LCD screen that I replaced on another Probook 450 because it had lines through it. No go... still blank. Tried HP suggestion to upgrade graphics driver... nope. Have not tried BIOS yet, but since this came on suddenly, not real convinced its that and didn't want to go through the hassle. Any other thoughts?

I have a HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop - 13-ae051nr. I need to connect HDMI port to to HDMI port on  overhead projector. With HDMI cable to HP Spectre x360 laptop and HDMI port on projector port, the project displays blank screen. Please assist with dialogue of how to correct issue. 

 

Additionally, using USB-C on same laptop, I wish to purchase USB-C cable to connect to projector vga port (should the HDMI projector not be available). Please provide what cable should I purchase to display laptop screen contents simotaneously to projector. Thank you.

Recently updated my graphics drivers via the installed AMD app and now my graphics card shows an error and not functioning correctly.  Code 43 on both the R5 and R8 slots in device manager.  One says AMD Radeon(TM) R5 Graphics the other is AMD Radeon(TM) R8 M445DX.  i have unisnstalled them individually and reinstalled old drivers to no avail.  Currently showing a driver date of 10/26/17 on both and both with Code 43.  

 

AMD A10-9600P RADEON R5, 10 COMPUTE CORES 4C+6G

12GB RAM

 

Im lost and a little ticked off about it.  Cant even roll back the drivers.

Hei,

I have Stylus active pen which is Hewlett-Packard, it was working good on my old PC "Spectre x360 4040no"

Now I have got a new PC which is "Pavilion x360 ba009" but the active pen doesn't work anymore, is it compitable problem? Or is there anyway to get it working?

In case "no". So which active pens do work on my new PC "Pavilion ba009" ?

Purchessed this pc in hope to use with art work. Employee that sold it said it was conpatable with active pens but i have had no luck infinding one that is compatible. even knowing it says its a pen and touch .. 10 poin touch ..what ever that means any ways hopfully some one can point me in right direction..

Hi, I'm trying to set up two monitors so that I can use different applications on different screens at the same time.  The latitude has 1 HDMI port, and two USB ports.  I bought a splitter, hoping this would solve the problem.  I'm able to extend the desktop onto both monitors, but the laptop will doesn't seem to recognize them as two seperate video outputs.  I guess this makes sense, but I hadn't thought about it that way.  Looking for alternatives at this point, any recommendations?

 

Is the latitude even capable of recognizing two outputs?  Could I just buy a USB to HDMI converter for the second output/monitor?  I hate to keep buying equipment for no reason.  I use a docking station at work, but this is fairly expensive to buy for my house when working from home.

I need a replacement touchscreen display for my HP Pavilion 15-au023cl (ENERGY STAR) monitor. The screen is 15 inches long. This is what my research has shown me so far:

1. The HP Parts store only sells the 23-inch screens
2. All of the links to resellers that HP provides (https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Part_Resellers.aspx?mscssid=684E97101A804C1C83EE259CB914B2E1&geo_code=NA) either only sell to resellers instead of the general public or I absolutely cannot find the part I need or navigate the website. 
3. The HP website informed me after I put in my product info that I would be charged a fee if I contact HP Support by phone because my product is out of warranty.
4. I tried buying from a third-party on Amazon and what arrived did not work.

Any help would be appreciated. I am really just looking for a link to an authorized resellers website where I can purchase the 15.6 inch touchscreen.

Hello HP Community. I see that this is a great community and you solve a lot of questions!

 

When I got my hp envy 4 b8t60LA·ABM i immediatly downgraded it from windows 8 to windows 7 (a friend found all the drivers). This was back in 2013.

 

Now, I had some os problems and had to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate.

 

I was able to update many of the drivers thanks to the HP page but i can't seem to find the keyboard driver so i can make my brightness brighter. Volume, mute and wireless buttons work. Also the button so I can swifly choose to change to an external monitor doesn't work. An the monitor it detects it's the generic one. I must admit, there wasn't a driver for windows 7 for that, I downloaded a Windows 8 driver.

Hi there.

 

I purchased this notebook about two months ago, if that.  And although I picked 32 bit for OS, I"m not sure if it's 32 or 64, but it may not make a difference in my need for help.

 

I work on CAT software on my PC, computer-aided software, to edit court documents and transcripts.  It is crucial for my touchpad to not go flying everywhere on my screen, which is pretty much what it does when I'm editing for my job.  I've been researching the forums and asking questions, and I see I'm not the only one that is very unhappy with this issue of a sensitive touchpad that seemingly cannot be manipulated to be less sensitive enough.  I have the sensitivity slide bar all the way to max.  That bar might be under smart sense.  I can't remember now.  I can't even tell that it makes a difference.  I don't see where I have palm check as an option. That's the main problem, is that this touchpad is way too big, IMO, and my palm is resting on the right and making the cursor fly around when I don't even realize it's happening.  This can't happen in my line of work.   Am I missing it somewhere?  Please, is there any way at all to make this touchpad less sensitive?  I am just about to get ready to try and tape a piece of paper over the top of the pad and see if it will prevent this sensitivity issue from happening.  Why wouldn't HP have more of a choice on this subject? I have to say that after two HPs, this will be my last if I can't get this right.  I paid way to much money for this to be happening.  So now that I've vented - and thank you for listening - please, I await your response.

Hi, 

My laptop's touch screen doesn't work after updates. 

I did look into all touble shooting and found that my computer has touch screen driver missing. 

I tried to update the driver but they can't find it at all. 

 

picuture 1.  you can see touch screen is not under human interface deivces. but rather under other device

 

 

 

 

 

Picture 2:  I kinnda figure that 3 drivers under oter devices are related to my touch screen  and I assume that "eGalax touch EXC3000...

I do not get a clear image on my laptop, the picture is vague .
The screen resolution is set to 1920x1080 (as recomemded). The newest driver is installed, all updates for the operating system are also installed. Whatever somehow work, I'm forced to increase the size of text and applications on the screen to 125%.
It would be desirable to receive the answer from the manufacturer why so occurs and how to eliminate malfunction.
