Can't get a picture from TV using HDMI. Sound is fine, but no picture, and in the display settings it dousn't show a second screen, Have tried updating the drivers in Device Manager but still nothing. Not the HDMI cable as it works from iPad. Read somewhere that Bios might need updating but don't know whether it's this (or how to fix).

HP 540 Laptop when power up no display. I have connected an external monitor to the laptop and press FN+F4 key together and the external monitor still does not display anything. When switch on the power LED is on and the cap lock light comes and then goes off . The wireless light remain on all the time.
Is there other testing I should do to check further for this symtoms

Hp Envy 15-3000 Windows 10 drivers graphics and audio
Dear all,
I recently upgraded my laptop from a single hdd to a dual drive system by replacing the optical drive. The new drive is an ssd which makes the laptop extremely fast.
However, similar to my previous installs, I am encountering issues with the graphics and audio drivers but this time round I cannot manage to fix it. My laptop has dual graphics with an AMD Radeon 66xx/67xx series.
The graphics driver does not allow the laptop to boot in under 15 seconds. The laptop just stays on a black screen for about 2 minutes after the first windows 10 loading icon before the login screen is shown. Moreover, during usage the screen flickers to a black screen with a failed driver notification.
In some way this is affecting the audio driver which results in no audio at all. Can anyone help please?

Use of Kickstand in Tablet mode
The kickstand is very useful --- except that it seems to deactivate all tablet functions unless it is folded in and not used. This renders it useless which doesn't make any sense. Does anyone know if this is a major flaw, or if someone actually designed it this way --- which wouldn't make much sense.

Laptop powers down when lid is closed
I have a HP ZBook 15 G3 attached to a Targus dock with USB-C, when closing the lid of the laptop it powers down both externally connected monitors. As you can see from image below "When I close the lid" is set to "Do nothing".
Please advise on how to keep laptop awake when closing lid.

Display is flickering with black and white vertical lines...looks like a bar code.
I have update Windows 10, Norton and my display drivers. The flickering occurs in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and even on the start up screen.

Screen flickers when wake up out of sleeping mode
Every time when i want to wake up my laptop out of sleeping mode , the screen flickers and it is black on the screen. I think dat the computer is running normally because i hear it when i typ in my password. But the screen doesn't show me anything.
I read somewhere that i have to close and open the laptop , as a result of that i sometimes get my normal screen back.
I want this problem to completely dissappear.

Wiring diagram needed
My case has broken at the left hinge. It was fixed by HP under warranty, but the fix didn't last, so I decided to fix it myself. Lots of broken plastic in the area, but got it cleaned up and JB welded all the breaks and added reinforcements. Seems to be good as I temporarilly attachd the display and it open and closes as it should and the case is holding together.
Now the problem: There are 2 black wires from the display that connect to the motherboard. They are numbered 1, and 2, and to make sure I got them back where they belong I marked one with a red sharpie ( I didnt see the numbers on them until after they were disconnected ). For some reason, ( distractions ) I must have neglected to mark the connector that the red marked lead goes to. Can someone here tell me which lead goes where? I don't want to have gone to all this work and wind up blowing something up. Also, please tell me how the connectors work. I can't seem to figure out how to put them together.

HP ENVY x360 can no longer connect to wireless display after Windows 10 update
After updating Windows 10 to i think 1703 Wireless displays no longer connected when they were previously fine. I updated all drivers still no go. I uninstalled wireless adapters and reinstalled, did the same for miracast, still no go. Updated to latest Windows build 1709 and still nothing is working. It sees the wireless display, tries connecting, takes a while and then says couldn't connect. Others in the building are able to connect to the TV without an issue.

I have the 13.3 inch notebook, been trying to use the usb-c to hdmi adapter that came with the notebook with the model
831118-001 KSC0012 - the max i get out of the adapter is 2k ..
When i bought the notebook they told me this would do 4k output via the adapter, i am guessing not?

My notebook base flexes and causes my screen to freeze and distorts the picture.
The problem started when I would use my notebook on my lap or on an unlevel serface. This would cause the screen to freeze and distort. It continued to worsen until I could not use my computer without having to wiggle the screen back and forth for the picture to work momentarily. I noticed prior that a screw had fallen out of the back. On a hunch, I then took the back off and tightened all the screws and put it back together. This helped for a while. I continue to have intermitent screen distortions and freezes if I move the screen the wrong way or put too much pressure while typing. What I am realizing is there is an inherent flaw in the design to where there is a degree of flex at the base i.e. around the hindges where there are connection points and other essential components. I am concerned If i continue to use my computer (which I require for school) I will do irreversable damage. Please advise at your earliest convenience.

LCD Inverter heating up
Hi,
My laptop was showing blank screen when powered on but I could see a flicker. So I replaced the LCD cable but the problem remained the same. Then I ordered an LCD inverter from ebay and installed it. The item discription is as follows:
New HP Pavilion DV8 DV8-1000 DV8-1093CA LCD Inverter for Dual Lamps Panel
This Inverter is getting very much hot and I don't know the reason. Also the display worked fine for 3 days then I had to restart it the second time then it gave display. From yesterday it is not giving any display. The display works fine on external monitor and the motherboard is also new as I replaced that also few months back. I don't think that it is the LCD because when it's working the display is perfect. Can you please help me in identifying the problem. Thanks for your time.

My niece's screen was all lines and when you touched the edge of the screen it went off. I identified that the screen needed to be replaced. I ordered an exact replacement screen of the screen and when it arrived I fitted it with no problems.
When I turned it on there was no picture on the screen. I went back and checked I'd connected the cable right and it was. I attached the laptop to an external monitor and duplicated the screen and was it still working. That led me to shine a torch on the laptop screen and there was a faint picture but it was too dark to see.
I tried adjusting the brightness but that didn't help. I'm guessing the backlight is broken and that's why the picture is so bad. I removed the keyboard and checked all the connectors on the board and they were all in place.
I'm wondering has a fuse blown or is there something I'm missing. I checked online for info and tried most of it out but have reached a dead end. I really want to fix this for my niece and I'm hoping it's something simple. Or if it needs something done to it can it be explained. I'm open to all suggestions.

hid-compliant touchscreen driver download?
I have a HP Pav11t-n000 x360 and the hid-compliant touchscreen driver for that has disappeared since the last windows update. It's not a hidden device, it's gone. Where do I go to download the driver I need?
