On visiting the HP partner store for replacement, they said the whole lid is to be replaced which is half the price of laptop itself.
Also please let me know where this replacement screen can be bought from.
Thank you in advance
Hi All,
I recently purchased a HP USB-C to DP Adapter (N9K78UT) which works well when trying to plug my laptop to a HP screen.
Unfortunately it does not recognize any other monitor (tried on a NEC TV, NEC Screen) or any beamer (tried on a SONY and PANSONIC beamers).
I tried updating all possible drivers (USB and Video Card) no luck so far.
Any clue?
Thanks a lot,
BEn
Hello I am looking for a touch screen replacement for HP ENVY 15-u171nz. Apparently there are TYPE 1 and TYPE 2 for this same touch screen. TYPE 1 is easy to find, TYPE 2 is what I have and I can't find a replacement. YOur help is very appreciated!

How to enable touch pad gesture controls in HP 542 TU laptop?
When I unplug the laptop or plug it back in, the brightness changes accordingly.
When I unplug the laptop it goes from maximum brightness to a lower brightness. The power settings is on its maximum and it still doesn't go to maximum brightness (like when the laptop it is plug in).
When I try to change the brightness of it, it will not allow me because it's showing that I'm already at the maximum brightness. (Which I'm not).
I would like to make it so that plugging or unplugging the battery is not a trigger that adjusts the screen brightness at all. The screen brightness should only change when I adjust it myself. How this might be accomplished?
I wish to control the delay in blanking out the screen. so I go to the control panel, then to Power Option, then to choose when to turn off the display. The screen then shows at the top "Change settings for the plan: Balanced, and there are two options: On battery, and Plugged in.
Irrespective of what settings I put, the screen goes blank after about one minute. Even when I set the settings to "never", exactly the same happens.
Can anybody advise what is wrong and how to sort it out? Any advice would be most appreciated.
I'm trying to find a stylus that is compatible with my notebook. Does anyone know if the HP Active Pen (model#1FH00UT#ABA) is compatible? I really don't want to spend the money on something that doesn't work.
Thanks!
I keep trying to get to these great answers & all I get is:
Hello,
I started my Laptop today and my Clickpad is not working anymore, what could it be?
I'm sure that it can't be broken from the inside...
Laptop Information:
HP ProBook 450 G4 (Windows 10 - 64 Bit)
Product Nr. Z2Z77ES#ABD
Mouse/Clickpad is the Synaptics SMBus Clickpad.
I already uninstalled the drivers and installed it again a couple of times but nothing is working - what could it be?
Thank you for helping me!
Hello,
I'm a user from South Korea.
As I checked some reviewes on my Envy 13,
I found a interesting review from Netherlands.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Envy-13-ab021nd.195340.0.html
(you can get to the site from this link)
According to this review, Envy 13 has a RGBW panel instead of a normal RGB panel.
He claims that the laptop doesn't show you real QHD+ display, because W pixels provide you no colours.
That means this Envy 13 display has really weird resolution.
To check the display, I took photos from my laptop & Iphone 6s
First photo is from my Envy 13 and the other is from my Iphone 6S
As you can see, my laptop does not have actual RGB patterns. (mixed with W pixels)
I've never seen these kinds of RGBW pattern, even in panels from LG(M+), which provides RGBW 4K panels.
The portion of W pixels is seemingly huge. I'm really disappointed.
This causes big loss of the display definition.
It seems that the ratio of R/G/B pixels to W pixels on the display is 1:1.
The half of panel is filed up with W pixels! (If we caculate real RGB pixels, we only can get 1600x900 resolution)
I know that RGBW panel is controversial.
In my opinion, HP shouldn't call it "QHD+ display", and this RGBW pattern of display must be informed to the users.
I expect you further information and replys.
Thanks
A very simple question that we cannot find anything on - which painting stylus pens work with ths touchscreen? Are there active painting pens available? A verified list of which ones do work? HELP.
I have a HP-15 f233wm with a bad touchpad (right/left) button board that I want to repair. I have a replacement part, now I just need a guide to show disassembly of the laptop to get to the button board. Any help is appreciated!
Hey,
A month ago, I bought a new HP laptop (model HP Pavilion 15-ck093nd) and unfortunately I am experiencing problems when playing games on this laptop. When playing games like League of Legends, which this laptop should be able to run, the laptop is performing adequately when it is not charging. However, when the laptop is plugged in and charging, I experience significant drops in my FPS.
I have searched the forums for similar problems and found those. None of the proposed solutions have worked for me. I have played around with different battery settings (high performance and the games on the lowest settings), I have updated the drivers, updated the BIOS, checked whether the adapter output (19.5 V, 3.33 A, 65 W) and laptop input ( 19.5 V, 3.33 A) match (they do), and ran multiple troubleshooters.
I was hoping anyone could provide further advice on how to solve this issue, as it is a significant problem for me.
Specifics for my laptop:
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Microprocessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz
System BIOS: F.03
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce MX150
Version: 23.21.13.8792 (06/10/2017)
Hello...
My touchpad starts clicking lots of times just by touching it one single time so I can't use it, that happens even with the pointing stick and even with the keys that are around the touchpad, I tried the static thing but is not working, somebody knows what could it be?
I have just taken this out of the box and just finished updates. From the very beginning, the touchpad has not been working. I went to device control panel for the mouse and it does not show anything past the hardware tab. Don't know what to do. I am inclined to believe that this is a hardware problem right out of the box.
Just noticed a 1 inch pink line approx 2-3 pixles thick horizontally on my screen , mainly visiable with black backround ,Here is an image.
Clearly a screen defect but who should i go to as this product is less than 3 months old ?
Should i take this back to pc world or contact hp direct ?
Thankyou for any assistance
My Webcam works, but only with Skype, not other apps such as Zoom.us or Google Hangouts. It used to work with these apps and I am guessing it stopped during a Windows 10 update. The camera light is on, but there is no picture, it's black.
Under 'Imaging Devices' I've tried un & re-installing drivers (Webcam Fixed & ArcSoft that I was told HP installs for multiple apps).
Found no help via Microsoft or HP to solve (Zoom.us guy tried for a couple hours to no avail).
I've tried starting only one app as suggested, but didn't work.
Anyone else have issues with HP Webcam only working with one app AND found a fix?
I've been working on this months before asking for assistance. Thank you.
My laptop has NVIDIA GT630M and I am trying to use two monitors along with my laptop display. But both the monitors are being duplicated and not extended. I have tried to close the laptop lid then I cannot see the multiple displays option.
I think GT630M doesn't support 3 displays (laptop display and dual monitors). Laptop also has Intel HD Graphics 4000 (not sure if it makes any difference). I am not sure what are my options here. I don't want to buy another laptop (an upgrade is fine but I highly doubt it will be easy) just for the sake of 3 displays support. Can someone please help me here? Thanks.
I have a very similar issue with an HP 13-4102DX laptop. Since the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Windows crashes every time I enable the Intel 5500 HD drivers but with them disabled it does not crash.
Did you ever solve your issue?
