I bought my HP ENVY 15 x360, after my configurations, a $1,179 laptop off sale and was expecting a pretty **bleep** good computer for my almost $1,200, but surprise, there is a hot pixel on the screen that makes me quite irritated because I can't look at anything that is sorta dark in that area without having a max brightness, white pixel. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed? Obviously it would be nice if HP would fix this and give me a new display, but I would even be willing to pay to get a new display installed, one that doesnt have a hot pixel anyway. Either way, I expected a pretty **bleep** good display for the money, but again, it has a hot pixel and to be honest, the colors could be way better for a "premium" computer.

Display flickering in BIOS mode

I decided to upgrade my notebook from hdd to ssd, but I installed windows 10 with Legacy support (It was in BIOS on the HDD), and now intel drivers make the display to flicker in windows, if I switch to BIOS mode it flickers also at startup and in BIOS, even with no OS on the drive.

My HP Laptop screen turns grey when desktop loads after turn the laptop on.
When I was searching the net my screen turned grey. It works, but it has no colours, just white and grey. It's very annoying because I bought this laptop last year. My graphic driver is updated. How do I bring back the colours? Please, I need help.

Intermittent backlight fault with screen
My display screen blacksout intermittentently for long periods of time, if I shine a light on the display I can vaguely see the dispaly content but it appears to be a backlight issue?
I've tried all steps in the trouble shooting without success. I have a current warranty but cant find a way to register for a repair.

I have just bought a refurbished HP and cannot get the camera to work on Skype, so I went into the Device Manager, then under Cameras: General: HP Truevision; Driver status: is has the following message: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

Loss of FPS in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
Hi All,
I have a HP Zbook 15 G3 with a Nvidia M1000M.
For the last 10 months I have been playing Playerunknown Battlegrounds on low settings with approx. 40-60 fps. Very recently this has just dropped to a flat 15 fps regardless of lowering in game video settings further. This happened about 6 months ago. What I tried then:
Re-installing Nvidia quadro drivers, re-installing the game.
Nvidia settings: "let the 3d application deceide", "preferred grapcs processor: High-Performance NVIDIA processor".
What proved sucessful was to facory reset the laptop. After doing that and re-installing latest drivers, everything was fine.
No new drivers / apps etc were installed between discrepenies in FPS.
No overheating.
I am at a loss. I could do what I did before but it's a pain re-installing work apps (Autodesk inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD and microsoft 365, and fun apps (Steam and accosiated games).
That's pretty much all I have on this laptop but it's enough to spend a day downloading and installing.
Worth also mentioning I am using the correct power supply (150w).
Any ideas?

External monitor stopped working on Envy 15"
Hello,
I'm experiencing a problem when trying to connect my Envy notebook to my Samsung TV. I connect the two through an HDMI cable and had no problems until now. I don't know exactly what happened but now I am getting no video OR sound from the TV.
- The TV recognizes that the HDMI is connected to a device but says that there is no signal.
- In the Intel Graphics settings, the Samsung TV is identified and shows as if it were working properly.
- The Windows Display settings does not recognize the Samsung TV at all.
- The Windows audio playback devices also does not recognize the Samsung TV.
- When connecting the TV to another computer, through the same HDMI cable, there is no problem.
- I tryed using the HP Support Assistant to update the graphics driver and it didn't help.
- Recently I had a Windows Fall Creator Version upgrade, but I can't remember if that is the time that the problem started.

Home page display occupies only top 1/2 of screen
When I turned on my computer today the home page occupied only the top 1/3 of the screen.
The task bar was directly under it. 1/3 of the way up from the botton was the Start Menu on the left and date time on the right.
When I turned off the computer last night everything was fine.

Hp 250 G5 Hdmi doesn't work on Win 10 pro
There is intel Hd graphics 620 with driver version 22.20.16.4718 and driver date 6/24/2017 on my notebook. I could not find any uptade about my driver.There is also AMD Radeon ™ R5 M330 on my notebook with driver version 23.20.15015.1002 and driver date 12/1/2018. I couldnot connect to TV via hdmi even if i tried with older version of drivers too.

Can I upgrade my graphics drivers on my aw-002la Notebook with AMD provided drivers?
Hello! I was just wondering, my laptop technically has 2 graphics cards, and from my understanding, it uses both while for example, running a game, these graphics cards are the AMD Radeon R5 and AMD Radeon R8 M445DX. Now, I know for a fact that the driver(s?) are out of date, and I wanted to update them, unfortunately, HP Support Assistant does not provide the newest drivers.
I got in contact with an AMD representative and he said I could update my graphics driver with this:

He explained to me that the R8 M445DX graphics card is the result of the R5 and a R7 M440 graphics card working in conjunction.
So, basically, can I update my R7 M440 graphics driver with the link he provided? The tech support person at AMD was not 100% sure that it would work due to how HP handles their products, so I just wanted to make sure, thanks a lot!
Also, if I can actually update the drivers, could someone provide me with an installation guide for Notebooks? If I recall correctly, the installation process is a bit more contrived in comparison to desktop drivers. Thanks again, have a nice day!

Screen goes black
While using my BRAND NEW Spectre the screen randomly goes black for about 10 seconds. I am actively using it (not as a touch, but with the keyboard) and when it comes back nothing is lost or missing.

The color on videos disappears when it's being charged.
The color on videos ( like youtube and netflix) disappears when i plug it in ( to charge) then immeadiately returns when i plug out. What do I do to fix this?

DVD RW drive will not write to a disc, + or -
DVD RW drive will not write to a RW+ or - disc. I tried 4 different brands including one that was not RW. It is listed as a UJ8B1. Under properties is also lists Toshiba MK5061 GSYN. I have never saved to a disc on this computer so don't know if it ever worked. It will play a CD. I am wondering if it is suppose to write? Maybe it is just read but how can I tell. No instructions came with this computer.....

Fingerprint reader not working

I have an HP ENVY Notebook - 13-d015tu, and I recently had to reset my laptop (due to a virus). Now when it started working again, I set up my fingerprint in HP simple pass again. After a few hours when I turned on my laptop again, my pc did not give me an option to login with my biometric. Worried, I tried going online and YouTube, but I couldn't find what was wrong. I tried troubleshooting, going to device manager, HP online, Virtual agent, BIOS environment; but nothing worked. Please help me. It has been working, for so long, and I can't live without it. My PC also has an option of iris, which never worked, but I never cared about it because of my finger scanner. Also, I am positive that the virus on my computer has been removed. Also, I have checked and re-checked, all my things (BIOS, Fingerprint reader, etc) are up to date and have been fully updated.

Need help restoring DVD Player and Audio to Pro Book
Tells me no audio output device is installed for my audio issue. Then said when trying to install Driver for DVD player the original application is not on this computer. Have tried driver update BIOS update, etc. Stuck!

Graphics Driver is severely out of date
The graphics driver for the Intel Hd graphics 4600 card in the computer is hilariously out of date. The version was last updated in 2015. However, HP support assistant, and windows updates detect no changes in driver software, and when attempting to manually install the newest intel drivers, the installer will not complete, citing that the manufacturer (HP) should provide specialized drivers. I would like to know if there is any workaround to installing new drivers, or if there is indeed an updated HP intel graphics driver.
