My laptop got a weird graphical bug since the last bigger Windows 10 update.

After playing a game of League of Legends and quitting to the desktop, the screen starts flickering and drawing colorful lines mostly on the top of the screen (no display issues in-game, only after quit). The fps drops really low, it can't even follow my cursor on the screen BUT for somewhat reasons this graphical glitch never affects the display of the Start Menu. I tried reinstalling the driver but it didn't solve anything.

OS: Windows 10 Education 64-bit
GPU: Intel HD 620

I have a major problem with my gaming laptop. It's that it can't game. The performance of the GTX 960M 2GB card is less than half of it's performance at almost all times.

I've seen reviews of other's with this laptop who have gotten scores around 3,700 area (link to reviewers score). Though mine at best is this...

 

 

That is only for the first 10 minutes of activity for the gpu. Than it grinds to a major hault like this...

 

In GPU-Z it's performance cap reason seems to be for the fact that it is always thermal throttling.  I even have a cooling pad underneath this laptop and it still seems to thermal throttle.

 

I can't even play a game like skyrim on medium to high settings at 60fps with only the performance monitor open. Instead I'm always hovering around 15-30 fps (This screenshot was taken while ingame in the character creation portion of skyrim). The pink in PerfCap Reason stands for thermal throttling.

The biggest problem about all of this is that I purchased this laptop for college about a year and a half ago and I finally get a chance to play some games on it and the performance is aweful and it's out of warranty.

Also for the fact it's near impossible for me to check to see if theres dust inside the fans or vents because taking it apart could posibbly do permeant damage to the bottom rubber grips that hide the screws and are mounted by glue. Which if they are damaged I can't put them back on causing for even more constructed airflow (for even worse thermals).

It would be really nice if you would allow me to have my laptop fixed or replaced for free as I'm still a college student without any money to pay towards the extra warranty or any repair charges. But with it being out of warranty since May 2017 there's nothing you could do is there?

Also just incase, Yes in the nvidia settings the preferred graphics is set to the high performance NVIDIA processor and the power profile is set to High Performance.

Edit: Wrong photo for the comparsion. Still just as bad performance though.

I have a strange issue ... something I've never seen or dealt with before.  My computer shuts down randomly if I stop using it for two minutes.  All of my settings are set for either 15/20/30 minutes before it goes to sleep or shuts down.  However, if I turn away from my computer for a moment, and turn back around, it's going to sleep.  If I have certain programs up this doesn't happen ... but the majority of the time, it just goes into sleep mode.  I haven't timed it, but I know it's only about 1 minute.  It's gotten to the point where I'll have to move the mouse every 15-20 seconds just to make sure it doesn't go to sleep.

Today I am seeing a thick, black, vertical  line down my computer monitor at random times. It doesn't stay and only lasts for a few seconds, but it's very annoying and I don't know why it's just started happening. I ran my program that is supposed to check for driver updates and didn't find anything related to graphics. I also ran the update checker on HP Support Assistant and found no updates whatsoever. Suggestions?

About 15 minutes after I power up chromebook and am using it, the touchpad stops responding.

 

Sometimes I can see the mouse cursor on screen, but cannot move it with touchpad.  Sometimes the mouse cursor vanishes.

 

If I plug in a USB wired mouse, I can use that. However, I want to be able to use the touchpad. ChromeOs version is Version 62.0.3202.97 

 

Restart does not help to fix this, only power off for at least 30minutes, and then power up again.

My HP Laptop keeps freezing. It's says chrome OS display screen or exendting internet display and it's logo looks like a computer or tv, I hope you no what i'm talking about it's so annoying. It goes away when i reset settings. I don't want to do that everytime, because it makes me start over on my games. Please help. Email is Bcarlin1_17@independence.k12.ia.us (If you can help).

hello, 

i have a problem with my webcam. I am not able to access my webcam in HP630 notebook PC. I have installed the cyberlink youcam software. but while opening it says "you do not have a compatible VGA hardware or driver to run cyberlink youcam". 

Where can i find Webcam driver for windows 7 64bit OS.

i am not able to find it in HP support.

After installing AMD Radeon HD 6490M (1 GB GDDR5) graphics driver windows won't start and shows blank screen.

 

I tried to check Hardware and found that AMD Radeon HD 6490M (1 GB GDDR5) showing negative value of Graphics Memory size. 

 

Not I am stuck, Please suggest what to do. 

 

I tried all versions and brands of drivers and OS also. But same Issue every where. 

 

Any suggestion other than changing GPU card. Can it be repaired at home?

When I open any video files(in Films and TV app or VLC)  or PDFs(in Adobe Acrobat) it take more than half a minute to open that file.

When I right click on ANY file to select the option 'Open with' and when the cursor is on that option (i.e. just hovering over) my laptop gets hanged always for more than a minute. Please give solution to this problem.

I reside in India. I was gifted this laptop (HP Spectre x360t i7 8th generation) by a friend who purchased it in the USA. On opening the laptop, I noticed that the hinges of this laptop are crooked and the fan creates a constant whirring noise. There is also a small but noticeable dent on the base of the laptop. Another issue is probably a design issue near the grill just above the keyboard. I called up the HP support and they said that this version of laptop isn't yet available in my country. I want to exchange/return this laptop in India itself with the same configuration. Please help.

good day

i have been using a hdmi cable to connect my tv to my laptop today i unplugged it to use my xbox and when i plugged the hdmi cable back in it does not detect my screen

Windows 10 clean installed and now touchscreen does not work.

 

• Installed all updates
• Installed all drivers from support page (including BIOS) apart from those with errors
• No HID touchscreen showing in device manager
• No tablet PC settings
• Driver for graphics will not install - from the support page (SoftPaq NUMBER:  SP72369) for this laptop error shows "computer does not meet minimum requirements"
• Under diagnosis the touchscreen works fine but there seems to be not driver in windows 10

Please help as needed for eldery user who needs the touchscreen, virus means no restore is available.

 

Please can I have working driver fro windows 10.

i recently bought a new HP computer 

HP All-in-One - 22-b231in i want to adjust the web camera settings. I need to lower the angle so that persons sitting in front of the computer can be fully covered when I am chatting with someone on skype. Need advise on how to do this. Thanks RN1929

Hi, It's been a few months since I bought this laptop and I’m not satisfied with it, there are several points that are not good enough, I'm gonna go with the two main problems. first is the cooling mechanism ,which is weak, the system over heats and lags. Then is the graphics which isn't doing well, I had tried many different games to see if it's going to give a satisfying experience, but, none were as good as they should have been, and nearly all are laging, there are serveral situations in which the graphic doesn't switch to AMD Radeon(TM) R7 M440 and it'll use theIntel(R) HD Graphics 620.

The current AMD Radeon(TM) R7 M440 version is 16.200.1029.0, and, Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 version is 21.20.16.4550.

And about the cooling system can it be improved?

What shall I do with the graphics? I'd appreciate your help.
