So I got this computer just yesterday, and so far everything about it has been wonderful except for the trackpad. As did many other people, I immediately had a problem where whenever I pressed a key, the touchpad would stop responding for about a second. This was infuriating; fortunately, a bunch of people online have explained how to turn off your Synaptics "Smart Sense" settings, so I did that and it seemed to work. Immediately after, though, I discovered a new, even stranger problem. If I'm moving my mouse and then press (and hold) a key on the keyboard, the mouse freezes for a couple frames, continues moving normally for about a second, and then stops moving altogether. I figured out what's causing it, too: it's the keyboard repeat function, and the fact that any time the computer registers a key press, the trackpad glitches for a split second--when I press and hold down a key, the computer registers a string of key presses, which causes my mouse to glitch continuously. I believe I've turned off all the settings that would cause the mouse to freeze when a key is pressed, and while I've turned "keyboard repeat" down as far as it will go, Windows apparently neglects to give you the option of turning it off entirely (why they refuse to give you that option is anyone's guess).
This seems very much like a "settings" issue, rather than a bug with the computer itself, but I think I've turned off all the settings that might affect this. Does anyone know what I might be missing?
