Hi,

 

I am facing wried issue with HP Pavilion dv6-6116tx Entertainment Notebook PC (LZ802PA)  which has dual graphics Intel 3000 /AMD Radeon HD 6490M (1 GB GDDR5). the problem is i clean installed Windows and now whenever i try to install both video drivers. Windows goes into "Blinking Underscore at top left with Black Screen.

 

things i tried.

 

1. Tried all 64bit windows 7 to 10 same error

2. There are two BIOS file listed in Software and driver results tried both same erorr

3. In software and driver there is this AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver but it  doesnt install says "System doesnt meet requirement"

4. If i keep single driver no matter if its Intel or AMD system works only it doesnt if both are installed.

5.have tried to rebuild MBR same issue then also

 

Note :- System boots if both video drivers are installed windows log is also displayed but then insisted of desktop system goes into Blinking Underscore at top left with Black Screen...

Hi all, I have bought this laptop from about 3 weeks and I'm falled in love with it. My version is the HP Spectre x360 with intel i5-8250u, 8GB Ram, 256 GB SSD (model 13-ae000).
I bought this laptop because it comes with the pen, it has a good build quality and a good performance.
The main reason that I need the pen is because I use it to get notes at university but I think that there is some issue (probably need some software improvement) with the digitizer. The pen is the new HP Tilt Pen (Rechargable) and the problems that I found are these:

1) Sometimes, appear random lines that starts 2-3 millimeters distant from where I started writing
2) There is a quite delay between my movements and the lines on the screen (not very important for me)
3) The pen need a quite pressure to initiate to write on the screen

 

I compare the writing with the my surface pro 4 always using the HP Tilt Pen and the problems seem to doesn't exits.
I think that HP should improve the digitizer driver to solve that problems, the first one is very annoying (Or Elan have to do that?).

Anybody has the same problems?

Hello. I turned on my Pavilion dv7 this morning to find out that none of my imported saved videos will play.  I haven't made any changes to the laptop. It's running Windows 10 and any time I try to open a video I get an error massage specifying the file name and below that is says "Class not registered." Please help!

I have an intermintent issue with touch screen or tablet mode function. Sometimes in tablet mode if I swipe down from the top to close an app, the swipe down bar will appearvfor about a second then disappears. Thus, I cannot see the X to close the app. Swiping down from the top after this happens does not work.

 

I have all the latest windows 10 updates for version 1709 and HP support assistant does not detect any issues or updates pending. BIOs hardware diags for touch screen does not detect any issue either.

 

I have removed the touch screen drive in device manager and had it re installed.

 

Any ideas appreciated?

I'm interested in buying a HP Spectre x360-13-ae99nz

I will use it for University and because of that i need to know if i can use it with a active pen.

Everywhere you can read different Things about that and I'm not sure what's true now.

 

Can someone help me out?

I have had my laptop for two years.  Opened it up this morning, and the screen flickers on and off.  And when it goes off, it is a black screen.  I love this computer.  Could there be a loose cable?

Hello, I have found out that my laptop is one of those affected by the issue.

But when I try to download the file directly from the HP website

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05827409

it fails. I have tried multiple times, using multiple browsers, multiple computers, multiple internet connections. Every time, the download fails.

 

How can I patch the computer if the file cannot be downloaded?

Drivers such as my graphics driver, an Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600, doesn't want to update. I know they're updates because my friend has the exact same driver but its 10 versions ahead of me. 3rd party driver updaters find around 20ish drivers that have to be updated but windows and HP can't find anything. Please help, really feeling the effects of old drivers.

I've only had this laptop for about 5 months, and someone brought this to my attention that this isn't normal for most laptops (this is my first time owning a high-end laptop). Pictures taken in a dark room, with the brightness on full. for first and last photo (middle photo taken with brightness as low as it will go).

 

Is this normal, this much backlight bleed? And if not, what can I do? It seems a little much to be IPS glow. This laptop rarely ever leaves my desk, so it hasn't been pushed or bumped around for anything to go wrong. I noticed a bit of light bleed early on, but today tried to watch a movie in the dark and we noticed just how bad the bleeding is.

 

This is an HP ENVY 17m-aeo11dx, the 17.3 inch screen one (I can't find the product name for it in the dropdown so I assigned it as an Ultrabook)

The screen of my laptop is suddenly not showing anything. The red led on mute button was on when it the screen was on. The power led is on . The laptop is charging properly but it's not working

На скриншоте показан диспетчер устройств, в нём вы видите два видеоадаптера, моя проблема в том, что дискретная видеокарта ( AMD Radeon(TM) R8 M445DX) не функционирует должным образом, а работает только интегрированная видеокарта с объёмом памяти всего лишь 384 МБ.
Прошу помочь мне выяснить, почему моя дискретная видеокарты не работает нормально, при отключении интегрированной всё нормально проходит, я запускаю игру например, всё запускается, но везде чёрные текстуры, ужасно зависает, хоть и объём дискретной видеокарты равен 4ГБ, при включении двух видеоадаптеров ноутбук функционирует только с одной, интегрированной видеокартой, а дискретная не работоспособна, хоть и числится в диспетчере устройств.

Не функционирующий дискретный видеоадаптер.

I have a HP Pavilion x360 13-u062na for which I want to use a stylus pen. IT is running Windows 10 Home (1709) and I have a HP Active Pen with App Launch HP Active Pen.

 

Now, if you look at my forum logs, I have not got very far with this, but this is what I have learnt from other people.

 

Within Windows 10 in the settings, when I select the Pen and  Windows Ink section within, I should see

 

 

but what I see is

 

In the system about settings, I am told that this laptops pen and touch options are "touch support with 10 touch points"

 

 

At my local PC shop, where I purchased this laptop, a Microsoft support engineer told me that all pens should work, but the bluetooth elemet is just for the active button. 

 

So to my question, why can I not use this pen?

 

Am I missing software, drivers (oh the pen does appear in device manager under bluetooth, but not anywhere else), is the certified Microsoft engineer from PC World wrong, should I revert to an earlier Windows 10 edition, Should I upgrade to Windows 10 pro, does this laptop simply not support pens?

HP laptop has been working fine for 2 years and then suddenly touchscreen has stopped.  I did an extensive scan and it showed up touchscreen not working as I couldnt open/remove the squares when touched.  Any help appreciated, but please try and keep it simple.  Thank you

Hi there,

I've recently bought this laptop and am very pleased with it, however I've just bought a USB-C to HDMI converter and it doesn't work (technically its a port extender, and the USB / LAN connections on it work fine, so it's just the HDMI that doesn't).

 

I've since read up on these forums and it seems that the HP laptops don't support DP Alt mode on their USB-C connectors (although they do support it over normal USB A as I have a similar adapter that works fine).

 

There is nowhere that actually says whether DP Alt is supported in the sales literature, and since that is one of the primary uses for USB-C I'm surprised it isn't. Is there a way this can be flagged up so that it is made clearer in sales literature (or even better, can we raise it so the engineers can implement it in a future update ?)

I've just got a new HP Spectre 13 - to replace my Macbook Pro.  Using an HDMI - USB C adapter, I'm trying to view the screen on my HP monitor.  Everytime I close the laptop lid, it puts the laptop to sleep and I get no output on my monitor.  HOw do I override this so I can see on the monitor screen whilst the laptop lid is down? (apologies if this is a really basic question, but I have only just moved onto PC having been on Mac for years)

The other day the screen came on near white with pastel shades. I thought it was due to walking in zero F degree weather for five minutes.  So I let it warm up. No change. But now it appears to be a electrical connection in the notebook flip top. 

 

When I squeeze the right and left sides or smack the screen case back the image corrects itself. Eventual I am able to get it to work. Then at random times it happens again.

 

I found the information on how to replace the screen. 

 

Now is it a bad screen or the connection to the screen? 

 

All help regarding this issue is appreciated.

Hola, hace poco atualize los drivers y luego de que se reiniciara el ordena el táctil no iba.

 

Estube mirando las soluciones de HP y ninguna dio resultado, excepto una que consistia en entrar a la UEFI de HP y probar la pantalla táctil, en las dos pruebas que realize el táctil funciona bien pero cuando enciendo el ordena con normalidad el táctil no funciona. v:

New here. Need a recommendation. Display is priority.

I'm replacing my HP8510W that is about six years old. 

Hobby photography.  Primary  Camera is Canon Eos M2.

Honestly havent any interest in desktop tower and monitor.

No gaming whatsoever.  Very little video in fact.

Hobby CAD using Trimble Sketchup. 

Mostly interested in the best color and brightness I can get

in a 700 to 1000 dollar laptop.

 

Roughly these are my minimum goals

 

15.6 1920x1080 ips screen with min of 275 nits measured and reasonably good color

Touch screen not needed.   Matte preferred. 

 

Standard clamshell laptop.  No flip,  spin,  xtransforming, etc, needed.  All black is a plus!

 

Internal Graphics are OK

 

7th gen i5 

 

256 SSD

 

8gb memory

 

solidly built (usually this means business/educational class from what i understand)

 

All else... aesthetics,  connectivity, ports, optical drive, keyboard quality lighting or layout,  mousepad ergonomics,

etc, are not important as long as they make the machine at least serviceable.

 

I'm finding all of this in a variety of 15.6 laptop brands but what generally nixes the package is poor display performance.  Usually brightness.   Sometimes really bad color.   Occasionally both.

 

Hp does not make it very easy to search laptops by priority.  Unless I've missed it somewhere.   Just a sidebar like you find on amazon, etc, to search ALL laptops.  Start with 15.6 size.  Then resolution.  Then processor.  Etc. 

 

Any suggestions please?
