So this problem has been going on for a while now. I used to be able to just leave my laptops on and use them when I need them. However, with this one, lately I cannot because when the display is off for an extended period, the laptop freezes and requires a reboot with the power button and no other keys or buttons will get a reaction. I at first thought it was only when the lid was closed and the laptop was idle, but then I left the lid open and came back several hours later and it was frozen. I also recently was using it to watch videos via HDMI and the laptop froze while being used this time (the lid was still closed). I do not know what to do to rectify this issue but it is a pain to deal with, especially as my laptop takes a good 3 minutes to start up, sometimes longer. If anyone has any ideas/tips other than the typical troubleshooting (common sense) tips, I'd much appreciate it!

aw011nt graphic card problem
Hi,
About three months ago i bought hp aw011nt and hoped the graphic card can handle 3d cad programs like autodesk fusion 360.I installed windows 10 64 bit and downloaded drivers from hp site.All the cad programs now only work from r5 gpu and when i change graphichs card to r7 gpu from amd catalyst control center programs either freeze or black out the screen or even restart the pc.So i tried the driver from amd site itself and the same results again.I updated my bios and pretty much tried everything there is.So my question is whats the point on selling laptop that has two gpu's if i can only use the one that performs poorly?

Radeon Inbuilt Graphics
Hi,
i'am usning HP Pavilion DV6 6165tx since 5years, no doubt very good PC great experience with it but from few months i am facing a problem "when i trying to insall Radeon Graphics Driver on it after formatting my PC, it stuck and stop responding and a sound generates from speaker", it continue till i restart PC and while loading windows again it stuck and this problem continue...... this is because of driver of redeon, when i unistall its installed driver form safemode it starts working.... i've updated driver also and tried with different O.S. but issue remains same.. i also tried with driver that come with HP recovery media. this machine is having two inbuilt graphics so i using onboard graphics and unable to use dedicated graphics which results slow performence. Please help me out....

What pen works with an Envy x360 model 15-bq-100
I've been trying to find a pen that works with this model. I saw this pen in the HP store: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pen and the specs indicate it should be compatible with any notebook that supports Windows Ink and Microsoft Pen Protocol, which should include my particular model Envy x360. The compatibility section even mentions HP ENVY explicitly. However, I read the reviews, and one reviewer said that this pen doesn't work with his Envy x360. How can I find out if this pen is compatible with my model x360? The specs for the pen mention N-trig technology. Is that the brand of digitizer used in my model x360? Or is it Wacom?

Flickering screen when disconnected from power
When I disconnect my notebook from power and let it run on battery the screen flickers 5-10 times every time I switch between the programs. For example, I open photoshop, the screen flickers 5 times, then stops. A switch to another program, the screen flickers, then stops.
It doesn't happen when it is connected to power.
1. Video Intel Drivers have been updated to the latest version.
2. If I go to Intel HD Graphics in Control Panel > click on Power and disable everything here, then the flickering stops
For obvious reasons I don' want to have it disables.
Please let me know what can be done.
The flickering is annoying and I'm contemplating returning the laptop while I still can.

Hello Community!
I'm having a problem with the g42-215br notebook in the last few days, after retiring it from where it was stored and proceeding with an OS reinstallation.
I installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit to use the internet, but after installing Drivers I noticed that the video started to blink constantly (Flickering?).
I figured it might be a driver incompatibility with the OS, so I traded for several drivers, less upgraded to the most up-to-date possible. Nothing worked.
I notice that when using the Standart VGA Driver, a screen does not blink once, I have no problems, just get and use ... But as a screen not available at maximum resolution, look for a solution on HP forums, now nothing.
The problem is not Flat, because it does not depend on the positioning of the screen or the difference when moving a screen.
With some drivers, I noticed something less flashing, but still blinking.
My last *steps* were to run Ubuntu on the machine to see if presentations, to my surprise, nothing, just using. However, as a machine and share with more lazy users, it does not stop with Linux.
The final test that is in progress and installing Windows 7 Home Basic to make sure the problem is not incompatible, but is available.
Does anyone have this kind of problem with the G42-215br or series notebook?

Keyboard will lock (5 long and 3 short) with any static electricity, any jostling or inactivity
This problem is new-ish, had the laptop for over a year and now this happens almost daily. The screen will flicker and the keyboard will disable with 5 long and 3 short flashes in CapLock when:
Any static electricity charge that occurs when touching laptop
Picking up the laptop from the left side of the case
Leaving laptop on yet unused in a secure location for any extended period of time.
At first I was hard booting it, because the screensaver kicked in and I could not regain control. Since I don't use it in public, I disabled the screensaver and added the touch keyboard to the task bar so I can get at it.
I will usually restart the laptop, as this fault temporarily kills internet connectivity.
Very frustrating symptoms. Disappointed in the design. Up to now my biggest peeve was that HP didn't spend the 4 cents to add an LED to the num lock key.
Any suggestions on what is needed here? Better grounding? A new keyboard?

HDMI output stopped working on HP Pavilion
Hi folks.
So I have an HP Pavilion 15 laptop which is only 3 months old and have been plugging it into the TV for streaming video via the HDMI output. Everything was fine to start with but just the other day the TV screen went blank whilst it was streaming, although the sound was still okay. It seemed to recover shortly afterwards. It did this a few times. However, today it doesn't work at all...i.e. no sound and no picture from the TV.
I don't know what to do.
Looking at the display settings, when I plug the HDMI cable in, the display settings change, so the laptop knows another monitor attached. It even has "Panasonic TV" identified as the 2nd monitor. Furthermore, the TV is getting a signal of some sort since the TV display says "1080p / 50 Hz input". In addition, as soon as I plug the HDMI cable in, the onboard laptop speaker disconnects and sound switches over to "Panasonic - TV".
I've tried 3 different HMDI cables and a different TV, so the problem is the computer. I'm worried it's a hardware failure. My 3 months warranty period has just expired. :-(
Anybody have any ideas where to start with this?

HP Stylus/Pen Search for HP Envy 360x convertible 15t
I want to draw on my brand new HP Envy x360 convertible 15T laptop, so I have been looking for a compatible stylus/pen with pressure sensitivity. I asked the sales clerk online in a chat which product would be compatible. They said the HP Active Stylus. So I buy that and receive it in the mail a few days later. Doesn't work at all. I tested the battery and it had a charge, so I called tech support. They said the compatibility was wrong and to return the stylus. I asked what pen/stylus IS compatible with my laptop model, and tech support looked it up and recommended the HP Pen. So I ordered that one and got it in the mail today and it still doesn't work at all. I do not understand at this point. I have tried trouble shooting, and looking online for answers, but I can't find anything that works. What do I do? What stylus/pen actually works with my laptop?

Three days ago i bought a hp pavilion x360 convertible 14-ba002la that came with a stylus pen (an HP stylus so its the same brand as the computer and it works), the problem is when I try to draw on the screen with the HP pen there is no pen pressure, ive already updated all the things on the computer, and when i checked for new drivers for the pen it said that they were updated, when i go to the HP site to find drivers for the pen i cant find any, where can i find the drivers for the HP stylus pens? and if there arent any, how can I get pen pressure to work on my HP convertible? i cant find any answers online because no one seems to be having this problem, please reply

Upgrade LCD on HP 640 g1
Hi, guys. I purchased the laptop 640 g1, but the display quality is too bad for me. Because I want to improve the lcd by replacing it with 1920 * 1080 glossy ips. Can you please tell us what type of 1366 * 768 single-channel or dual-channel cable is used and are there any varieties of lsd cable? My model has a processor i5 4300m without an external video card. Setting Up Touch Screen - HP - ENVY x360 2-in-1
I have just purchased a brandnew Envy X360 2-in-1. The setup went fine, but I cannot get the touch screen to work. It is not working in desktop or tablet mode. I've taken all of the following steps while troubleshooting:
1. Checked driver in Device Manager (Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen). The device was enable and there were no updates.
2. Checked for Windows Updates, there were none to install.
3. Visited tablet PC settings.
- a. Attempted to configure settings by clicking Setup. Was taken to a white screen and told to touch the screen in tablet mode or press enter if in desktop mode. Attempted to do both. While in tablet mode, my touch was not recognized. When pressing enter, the screen was exited and I was brought back to the Tablet PC Settings dialog box.
- b. Attempted to calibrate the display. I went through the process of touching all cross hairs as they appeared, but it took forever and many times I had to touch repeatedly for a minute or two straight as it was not recognizing my touch. Once I made it through all of the calibration process and attempted to use touch screen in both desktop and tablet mode, nothing happened.
Are there any other initial set up steps that must be taken to get the touch screen working? It is supposed to work in both desktop and tablet mode, correct? Also worth noting, my device is properly switching to tablet mode, I just can't do anything in this mode as the screen is untouchable. Backlit keyboard dims and keyboard functionality stops responding when in tablet mode, as expected.

2 finger scrolling stopped working on touchpad after updating to Synaptics driver

Since installing the driver detailed here https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05827409 I patch driver 19.3.31.31 SP81891 under HP Pavilion 15 Laptop (models 15-cc0XX and 15t-cc000) my 2 finger scrolling has stopped working.
Also before installing the driver on my laptop was called ELAN Clickpad version 18.2.13.1, sounds like they are both different click pads?
