I just recently bought an HP Envy m6-k022dx, and I am unable to adjust the screen brightness using the keys on my laptop. All of the other keys work. I'm running Windows 8, and the product number is E0L06UA#ABA.

hp pavillion g6 laptop
hi,ive a hp pavillion g6 laptop,im trying to upgrade to the windows 8.1 but it says the screen resolution is to low for this app to run,when i go to the screen resolution its currently on 1280x720 and underneath it says 'your resolution is lower than 1024x768.Some applications might not fit and applications might not open. In the resolution drop down box 1280x720 is the highest there is ! How can i resolve this please.

What does up to 3053mb in video graphics mean?
I would like to know what this means: AMD Radeon HD 8610G graphics with up to 3053MB total graphics memory
I currently have 16gb of Ram. From what I've read it uses a portion of that ram up to 3gb to function, how I can set more ram to it? (I read that you have to do it from the BIOS, but all of the options are locked in the BIOS)
Are there any laptops that have all/most parts upgradeable?
Is this a generally 'good' graphics card to play the latest games with?

too cold?
I transported my laptop recently and I don't know if the laptop case was lying down with the laptop upside down or if it got too cold. It did warm up before I turned it on but since then the screen has flashing red and turquoise - the colours black and white, especially, are all wrong. Is there something that can be done to fix this?
HELP! I love my Pavilion and don't want to have to trash and replace it. Thanks.

Hi guys,
Looks like mine has bitten the dust.
I think its the common video chip failure.
I'm pi$$ed of with HP letting us down over this know fault.
The machine was my 'standby', so didn't get a lot of use.
I have just put in 2 new HHD's, 2 Memories & Battery, so i'd rather not dump it.
I know that some guys in the States can usually fix this,,,, if only they would reply to their messages.
Is there anyone in the UK that carries out this fix ?
Are M.Boards still available, either new or used ones, from reputable sellers ?

How to switch on Dual GPU
Hi guys! I'm new here and bought a notebook for maybe a week ago and I have some questions. I found out that my computer haves two GPU's and it is one integrated and one dedicated (dedicated is better) how do I switch to my dedicated one? I have High Perfomance on Battery and also in the Catalyst Control Center and I don't see no difference. I tryed to disable my Integrated graphics on Device manager and the dedicated didn't work (error 43). So how to disable integrated and use the dedicated? The game's I tryed on was Grid 2 and NFS The Run and Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

power shuts off immediatly after first gpu reflow
i have a hp pavilion dv6000 that had the black screen issue with it. so i watched a bunch of videos on how to try and fix the issue and i tried all of them accept the reflow and none of them worked . sooooo i went ahead and did the reflow and put my laptop all back together ,and i turned it on, and it came on for 1 second and shut right back off . so i have no idea if the reflow even worked yet . does anyone now what might be the problem with it ?

monitor goes black
I have a hp pavilion dv7 and when I turn the power on it will boot up and show the windows logo but when windows boots up fully the screen will go black. I put an hdmi cord into the laptop and have it displayed on my tv. Everything works fine when I have it through my tv. I tried to switch it back to the laptop screen display and it says that "another display not detected". Any ideas on what to do?

Colour Saturation
I have a new HP Envy TouchSmart 17 Notebook PC 17-j103ea running Windows 8.1 and just added an HP Pavillion 22xi screen as my old BenQ E2220HD looked washed out. While the new HP screen is a bit better and I can get brightness and contrast correct, it needs a condiderable increase in colour saturation - which was the main problem on the BenQ. I have tried connecting both with HDMI-HDMI and HDMI-DVI. The latter is slightly better.
I need good colour as I am a semi-professional photographer.
I bought an HP monitor to go with the HP laptop as I expected them to be fully compatible on standard configuration.
The photo shows the significant difference in saturation.
How do I make this usable? Is the new laptop faulty or is it a design fault? Do I need to return both devices as unfit for purpose and replace with a different brand?

Black Screen
Hello,
My laptop won't boot up to windows or bios. It's still have power button LED light but does't have Caps Lock LED light. Properly what can I do?

HP envy rove adding monitors
Hi
I hadnt realised that there was no video output other than intel widi on this machine - you should never assume.
I like to use two monitors and have been trying to find out if it is possible to have a wireless adapter on each monitor or even an adapter which supports two monitors.
So far the only information I have found which seems relevant is from 2011 and than intel widi only pairs with one display at a time. Software and harware changes so quickly things are likely to have changed.
Ideally I would like to use either two monitors or use the Envy screen and another monitor- I use spreadsheets a lot.

HP Pavilion 17-e027sf windows 7 brightness problem
Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion 17-e027sf. I didn't like windows 8 so I installed windows 7 instead. I followed the link below to get the drivers for windows 7 since the laptop is designed for windows 8.
All the drivers worked flawlessly but I have two problems. First the brightness menu is not showing in my laptop. I reinstalled the driver of the Generic Pnp monitor as suggested by other forums but that didn't work Some say it some be some issue with me motherboard driver. My screen brightness is stuck on maximum brightness and it is annoying So can you help me with that ? Second problem is that the hotkeys on keyboard (volume up, volume down, brightness up,....) are not working. Does a driver exist for windows 7 ?

i buy 15-e053se laptop just 2 month ago and i choose this model for the Graphics card AMD8670m
but the problem that ALL games are working under Intel HD 4000
like battlefield 3 and TOTAL need for speed rivals even after i put in
AMD Catalyst Center this games to work under High Performance
Intel and AMD cards are updated
Bios are updated and there is no option to choose between cards

Laptop Won't Boot - flAshes "Press ESC for Startup Menu"
After looking over these forums and seeing nothing helpful, I tried calling HP support.
I got a very surly call center employee (couldn't tell if it was in the Phillipines or India) who had a thick accent and spoke very quickly - very difficult to follow. I was offered a choice of extending my laptop warranty for a year fdor $90, or simply having my problem addressed over the phone for $60 on a refundable basis. According to mny understanding of US law, I asked (repreatedl) to speak to a representative here in the US. She refused and got even more surly - I hung up.
So - I employed my Google fu skills and eventually found a Win 7 Recovery System Disk (CD) advertised for $8 (www.mgwotech.com/win7). It took several days to arrive but it only took me one attempt from the Startup Menu (telling the laptop to boot from the CDROM drive) and I was able to boot the PC. I was then able to download CCleaner (which I highly recommend) and do registry repair, clear caches, etc. After which I rebooted (which is now lightning fast) and created a system restore point.
Hopefully this info will be helpful to others.
