Last night my laptop turn off due to low battery, so i charged it and turned it on. After i turned it on, the screen's backlight lit up and the fan spinned but there was no start up screen. I figured that my laptop was running because i could hear my apps running. I tried searching other forums and tried the 30-60 seconds method but it didn't work. Please help me

When the computer turns on the face unlock 'eye' shows up and starts looking but the normal 2 red lights and one white light near the camera don't turn on anymore, and it cannot find my face. The camera app also doesn't work, the camera will just display a black preview. Maybe a driver issue or maybe even hardware, please help.

Screen blank

About a month or so ago, my screen started just being blank.  I hooked up a monitor to the laptop and this is how I have to use it.    The screen is not damaged whatsoever and nothing happened, it just went black.    I don't know if it is a wire, or I have to replace my screen.  I hope there is a solution.  Thank you.

My computer is awful

Let me start out by saying I'm not sure how to tag this properly because I'm about to drop a whole bunch of problems on you all. I've had this laptop for quite some time now, about 7 years, which I understand in the tech world is a long time, but I don't like to switch technology so I'm trying to stick with it. For about, maybe 2 of those years or so, my computer was unusable because the entire hardrive decided to die, but I finally decided to replace it about 3 years ago, so you'd think it should be a decent computer now. WELL. You'd be wrong.

Here is a list of my current computer issues, and these are just my major problems of the moment:

Around last Feburary or so, my computer just suddenly stopped recognizing that it had a battery. So now it won't turn on unless it's plugged in. If you scroll your mouse over where the battery icon is on the bottom part of the screen, there is a message that pops up that says, "No battery is detected," which is weird because I have a battery in there. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a new battery just to have it say the same thing when I put it in, so I'm not sure what to do there. Also, side note, I have one specific plug that it will just randomly turn off for, sometimes. It doesn't happen with any other outlet, just this one, and nothing else turns off, just my computer. And when it turns off, you can immediately turn it back on, so there's nothing wrong with the outlet. It also seems to only do this when I'm writing papers, so I think it does it out of spite.

I have the hp envy 4500 printer, and for some unknown reason, my computer won't print to it. It finds it, but it won't print. It used to print, but it had it listed as a different printer for some reason.  I needed it for the scanner so I tried to re-add it as what it actually is, and now I not only don't have a scanner, but I don't have a printer either. So that's really fun. And yes, I've tried deleting it, and re-adding it, and turning off and on both my computer and my printer and nothing works. I don't even remember how it got listed as the other printer in the first place but I'd almost rather have that back and at least have a working printer again.

I've been looking through some of these forums and saw that some of you guys have had this problem as well. My computer will not connect to a tv. I've tried multiple different tvs, so it's not the tv. I've been using an HDMI cord, I've done the "project to another screen," I've tried both duplicate screen and extended screen, I've tried making the tv the primary monitor, I've downloaded the Chipset and Graphic Driver thing I saw in another forum. I've followed the entirety of a troubleshooting page. Nothing has worked even in the slightest. So. Not really sure what else I'm supposed to do there.

Whenever I go to watch movies or something, it lags really badly. I mean REALLY badly. I first noticed it when I went to watch netflix one day, and it would go like, slow and skippy. Both with the audio and video. You'd think then, maybe it's just the internet connection. However, it does the same thing if you put in a dvd. So, I'm not exactly sure what the problem there is. But I mean I guess if I can't watch netlix on here, not being able to connect to the tv isn't that big of a deal.

Well. I guess those are the major problems for now. Or at least all of the ones I can think of. I'm sure there are more. For those of you who are reading this that might say, "well okay, why don't you just get a new computer?" I'm not good with change, and for some unknown reason I'm weirdly attached to this piece of crap. Plus I've already put all my favorite stickers on this laptop, so there you go. If anyone out there can fix even one of these problems, that would be really nice. Thanks.

Getting Help on This Site

After relating my recent experience with HP support, I received the message below.

So, I'm having difficulty working out how to have a "positive tone" having bought a defective laptop that the manufacturer refuses to fix.  It seems I also can't point out the (literally) hundreds of identical cases.

What is the point of this site, if HP does nothing to support it's products?  Isn't this exactly the venue to warn prospective customers of the frustration that they can expect?

I'm posting this here because similarly to how HP support chat agents have been noted as routinely ignoring messages, there is no way to reply to this message.  Incredible!

HP Spectre - Problema with external monitor

I have a HP Spectre 13-v000ns and I have connected an external monitor with a USB-C adapter with an HDMI interface. The montior works just fine, until the computer goes to sleep. When waking up the computer the screen is not detected and I have to unplug and plug the USB-c adapter again for it to start working.

I have disabled "USB selective suspend setting" without any exit.

I also have a wireless keyboard connected to the USB adapter (usb dong). After sleeping and waking up the external keyboard works, so the USB adapter is at least working, the problem is that it is not detecting the screen until I unplug and plug the adaptor. Any one with any ideas how to fix the issue?

Touchscreen stopped working Spectre x360

Hi,

The touch screen on my HP Spectre x360 (L6A11EA#ABU) has stopped working.

It doesn't work in bios as well as Windows. I have tried doing a hard reset (hold power down for 15s when off.

The windows 10 My Computer Properties panel says "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display".

I have used a pen and touch screen with this device for 2 years, then this morning, it started out intermittent with the pen, with only touch working (not pen), I rebooted and now neither touch nor pen works.

Thanks

Hello.  I am very tired. At me the broken screen of the laptop, through the VGA cable the external display is connected. But external starts to work only after loading windows. I need the laptop to display the counted external screen as the main one showing the BIOS load. What have I already tried? Disconnecting the loop from the motherboard while the external screen stops working and does not boot even after the operating system is booted, calling hot keys Fn + F4 and others does not help. Disconnecting video cards Radeon and downloading through the processor also does not help. How could the Chinese make this monster? Until you connect the cable from the laptop to the display, he refuses to display the picture ... What can I do, BIOS can update, but I have not yet reached this level to do it in the blind ...

Max resolution from display port in HP Spectre x360 convertible

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing a new monitor and am looking for what would best support my Spectre X360.   It has Intel HD graphics 520 card inside, with 16gb of Ram and it is also an i7 machine.

I know the internal display supports a resolution of 2560x1440, would that be the case for the display port output as well?

Should I look for a native 2560 x 1440 monitor or would it support even higher?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Broken Digitizer

$

I need some help.

I put my laptop into my car and when I arrived  I found that a stone had lodged itself between the keyboard and the screen, subsequently cracking it from the bottom right to the top left of the screen.

The screen works absolutely fine, however the Touchscreen/Digitizer has gone mad and won't respond when I tap on it, or it'll randomly click elsewhere when I don't want it to.

It has been impossible to get hold of anyone to speak to with regards of how to replace the digitizer, all computer shops I've spoken to have said it's too complex for them to do/they don't know how to.

As the laptop itself is now 2 months out of warranty, this is incredibly frustrating as that was the main selling point on why I bought this specific one, and now the main reason I got it, doesn't work and there seems to be no fix or response from HP.

What can I do from here and how can I get my touchscreen back/digitizer replaced?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Harry
