I have a HP Pavilion G7 where the screen goes black after about one minut.
When I boot the computer, everything goes fine until the Windows logo comes up on the screen, but before I get to the log-in screen, it goes almost completly black!
I can attach an external screen and view things from there, but the screen on the laptop computer it self stays black.
Any suggestion?
I have been checking HPs website daily, looking for an updated display driver for the Spectre x360. Is HP working on the release of the wddm 2.2 driver?
It's been my one month when I mistakenly in overjoyed purchased HP Pavilion p010ax with Dual graphics i.e.
8610g 768mb integrated and R7 m260 2 GB dedicated.Since I am a student, I waited for this laptop for so long and did an internship to pile up money to get this.
Unfortunately, soon enough I found that games are not running on r7 dedicated.Eventually, games don't even recognize it.Then I went on Internet searched different forums, tried several tweaking, changed the charger , installed every possible driver available on the internet, but failed.
I know many users of this crap combo graphics are having same issue but it seems no one ever could find solution.Similarly both AMD and HP never really tried to provide solution for this fault.Instead on asking them on forums they replied with same old pre compiled messages....and I also know that this post will also going to fade in smoke.In the end I really feel sad to waste my energy and money on this graphics. I wish HP/AMD would have ever looked into this......HP/AMD really has to improve its customer support.....
All sadness apart,lets try one more time through this post as I mentioned earlier about my obsession to buy this laptop and then to figure out the problem for the past month. Please take this post seriously and please dont refer me to other forums as I have searched them all.
First thing first Laptop specs:
AMD 5745m 2.1 GHz with radeon **bleep** graphics 8610g 768mb
AMD R7 m260m 2GB didicated.
8MB L2 cache
8GB ram
1 TB hard

Tweaked all Configure settings and Catalyst settings to High performance................
While taking out my laptop out of my bag, it just slipped through my hand and hit the floor from a height of less than a foot and it's screen got cracked. I brought this laptop around 9-10months ago and I don't know if my limited warranty covers it or not. If no, what should I to get it repaired and how much of total expense should I expect?
My touchpad's drivers have needed to be re-installed over and over again. Now, it's in a state of half-broken. I will attach a screenshot to show - the settings window shows only this text in the frame where the settings are set:
"Can't reach this page" and then "make sure the web address ..." is correct. I have re-installed as i said, which leaves me right back at this point. System restore is not an option. The file i used for drivers is "sp51647.exe". My touhcpad is a Synaptics ClickPad V 8.1.
does anyone have any advice? i cannot use any of the functionality except the basic left clicking. help!

Any solutions. I bought and envy x360 and returned it because I couldn’t turn off the right click zone. My work laptop is an elite book x360 and the touchpad is by a different manufacturer and I was able to turn off the horrible feature. Saw the Envy come up again with the right price, but unless I can turn off right click zone and only use two finger click I don’t want it.
I think its a pixel issue or something but it wont go away. It shows very prominently on dark backgrounds. I have tried lightly tapping it along with restarting the laptop and reinstalling graphics drivers but its still there, in the same place all the time. My device is under warranty but i dont even know how to contact hp when their phone service is offline I'd just love to get it sorted I can't watch films or play games without being distracted.

My photographs all display as washed out, including those I have edited in an over-the-top manner.
However, other websites imagery look very good!
I have checked the AMD Radeon settings, but cannot work out which section therein is the one to adjust, if that is possible.
Perhaps it needs to be corrected within the PC's BIOS settings.
Any help will be much appreciated.

After installing windows 10 last year the characters, alphabet words, numbers in PC and in MS word or notepad are not sharp, they are kind of blur.
All the drivers are updated.Window is also updated till today. Need driver for graphics to resolve the problem.

So, every so often, my display will cut out and come back, and it may do this 6-7 times in the span of about 15 seconds or maybe once or twice in a minute. Whenever it does happen my mouse pointer is always reset at the center of my screen. Please help, this is getting rather annoying.

Yesterday I re-installed Windows 10 Home 64 bit on my x360 laptop - so I have version 1709.
Prior to the re-install the touch-screen was working fine but now I am missing the HID-Compliant Touch Screen in Device Manager - I have run HP Assistant and SoftPaqDownload Manager - HP and Microsoft apps seem to be telling me everything is fine...but the screen doesn't respond to touch.
Does anyone have a specific link to a file that will enable me to add the right device driver to Window 10 Home 64 bit to make it recognise the touch screen?
I don't need links to the HP Driver Support page or the Microsoft Support page - I have downloaded and run everything either of them offer. On the off-chance that it might be a graphics driver issue I eventually managed to update that by searching to the folder with the inf file in it...despite the fact the softpaq (SP72369) itself said the minimum requirements were not met and refused to run.
When I turn my laptop on the laptop is working As yo can hear the fans and the lights go on but the screen won’t turn on and just remains black. Is there anything that I can do or will I just need to purchase a new laptop?
Hello. I have been using this HP Envy Laptop for about a year now and never had any problems until Windows 10 showed up on my computer. I don't know if that's the source of this or any other problem; in any event, I have been having more and more visual/video issues lately and at this point I can no longer just make do.
The main problem is that no videos - neither DVDs/Blu-rays inserted/plugged into the computer nor videos downloaded from the Internet - will play in anything (that includes Windows Media Player, VLC, and Cyberlink). The only exception is that videos downloaded from the Internet will play in Windows Media Player. Nothing else plays in anything. And videos that will play in Windows Media Player will not play in anything else.
I have something called Aiseesoft to play Blu-rays and the same thing happens when I try to watch a Blu-ray in Aiseesoft as happens when I try to watch a DVD in VLC: The tracker sticks and doesn't count, the screen is black, and I just hear the audio track. With Aiseesoft, I can actually skip around on the video track and hear the audio at different points, but absolutely no video.
My Skype also won't show me video. If I'm talking to someone on Skype, my software and camera obviously work, because they can see and hear me but I can only hear them, I can never see them. The video chat window is just a white square.
Despite this, I've experienced almost no streaming issues. Stuff like Netflix works perfectly. However, within the last couple of days, some Youtube videos have started refusing to load. At one time, I'll try one and watch it with no problems. Then, two hours later, I'll try to watch the same video and it won't work. And vice-versa. That was the last straw. I was dealing with only being able to watch streaming-based videos; the recent Youtube issue might be unrelated, but now having streaming issues on top of everything else was the straw that broke this camel's back.
If anybody has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Unfortunately, I'm only a few steps above being technologically retarded, so if you have any suggestions for me, please break them down to their clearest and most explicit steps. For the record, I have something called NVidia and initially found recommendations via Google to try uninstalling and reinstalling that. I tried and it either didn't work or it wasn't the problem.
Any help that anyone can provide will be much appreciated.

okay i have the same problem for 2 years .
from 2 years i upgraded to windows 10 , then i installed windows 7 again due to some issues , while i downloading drivers i've noticed that the graphic driver's name changed from AMD Radeon HD 6490M into AMD Radeon HD 7600M , and actualy it didn't work , i uninstalled that driver and the graphics worked correctly in Intel HD Graphics 3000 , but it made the cpu slower , so i downloaded the AMD driver from HP website and while installing at about 40% or 50% the screen begain to flash then a black screen with a white underscore appears i've waited for 2 hours for it but no changes happend so i restarted the pc and the windows load but every thing was zoomed , i opened Driver manger and i've noticed that in the section of graphics the both of (Intel HD 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6490M) have error and as i remember it was error code 51 .
so i uninstalled it again and used the intel one only and it worked , from about one year i've formated the pc completely and installed windows 7 again and i've tried the driver again i thought it will be deffrent and actualy nothing changed the same cancer the same errors , and from about 5 months i formated it again and searched for that error ony every single forum that describe my problem but no one wrote the solution .
today i searched again and found that my device have the graphic card AMD Radeon HD 6490M not ((AMD Radeon HD 7600M)) so i searched for that driver , i havnt found it on AMD site (it was written that they deleted it from thier site) or even in HP site i've found only 7600M , i think 7600M is for a higher version of my pc but not mine .
but when i searched for AMD Radeon HD 6490M and downloaded it from a site (i think it didn't download correctly because i've found problem while extracting the .zip ) so when it was installing i did't faced any flashs or crash or any black screen but when i read the log i've found written that the driver was failed , amd control succeed , amd gaming control succeed , and i checked device manger and it was written (standard vga adapter) instead of AMD Radeon HD 6490M .
please help me that problem annoy me when i use photoshop or after effect or my c++ ide and any program need a good cpu and gpu
