hi recently bought a monitor who can be connected with usb-C port only (asus mb 169c monitor)

I want to connect it to my hp elitebook 840 G3. it should be working the moment i plug it in. but i get the message usb device nog recognized the last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. so when i go to device manager and uninstall and update all the normal things you do when an usb give an error

It doesnt change. if i check the properties of billboard device its says the device cannot start (code 10)

How can i fix it to get my monitor work on this laptop cause i have seen it work on friend his laptop.

can anybody help me out with this problem?

Im getting BSOD when rebooting after windows installs GPU drivers, or i install HP 2011 drivers, And drivers fail to work properly after using AMD auto detect utillity on my old 2011 Laptop.

Ive replaced the failed MOBO in this laptop with an identical one that Came with a a8-3500m Processor in it.

This Laptop Originally had a amd a6-3400m series Processor installed.

Pretty certain the a8-3500m is compatible.

Original Processor AMD a6-3400m AMD A-Series A6-3400M Notebook Processor - NotebookCheck.net Tech

Replacement Processor (Came with MOBO) AMD a8-3500m AMD A-Series A8-3500M Notebook Processor - NotebookCheck.net Tech

MOBO comes with Integrated Graphics Radeon HD 6750m

Laptop is HP dv6-6135dx.

Is runing Windows 7 home

Ive been at this for days and hav reinstalled uninstalled all different versions many times.

i believe the original processor is faulty in some way and would like to understand this driver issue.

Screen remains black. My power button is on along with the caps blinking slowly. What is wrong with my laptop?!

The actual screen itself isnt damaged. Im not sure how or why but my screen flashes white in and out. I can log in and open applications and what not but what i found strange is the flashing overlays the windows that are open, or underlays, idk someone help i would send a video of it but im not sure how on this website

Hi there,

 

I just updated to the new Windows 10 v.1709 and I was also updated the AMD driver. Now I am experiencing loss of features. Most importantly, the SLEEP power option  (it's gone ) and also the ability to control color, brightness and contrast via theAMD Catalyst Control Center.   I understand that Hp or Amd are not required to maintain drivers for older laptops but could any one tell me how to adjust the colors, brightness and contrast of my laptop. (ENVY 17 1190ca) .

I tried to re-instal the driver that was before the update but there is screen jitter which is very annoying. Maybe someone with a similar model has found a driver that works.

I have the same problem. Probably, your other respondent has given up because life’s too short. However, I’m still trying, so:

Obviously, this pen is not on the HP Bluetooth list - if it were I would not have this problem.

The problem I and others are having - and are not getting answers to - is: how to use the pen shipped with the computer which is silver with two buttons and a battery.

The pen /stylus / digitiser / active digitiser or whatever it is came with it in the box of my HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bp0xx and presumably the pen has a use.

It does not help that my product and serial numbers are not recognised by the drop down menus on this online support page and keep bouncing out till I try something close (please don't respond to that issue here: the issue is the pen, please). It also does not help that online support is "unavailable at this time" when "this time” is a business morning in the country where the product was purchased.

What also does not help is HP support phone Australia (not really in Australia but somewhere far, far away - where people have limited knowledge of English, computing and HP products).

Anyone out there ever seen this pen before? It sometimes responds when it touches the touch screen but how do even know if it's on and the battery is working? Is it paired? What do those buttons do?

Hi,

 

When I choose to use the handwriting setting on the touchscreen keyboard and try to write with my pen or my finger, it doesn't work. 

 

When on the normal keyboard mode, it works fine. How can I resolve please?

Hello,

 

I hope someone recognises this issue. When streaming online video's, after a few minutes the streaming sessions stops. This doesn't happen with Netflix, but it happens with many other online streaming video's. Mostly the session stops after about 3 minutes.

 

Some streaming video's provide the option to stream in higher of lower quality. When clicking on this option, the video continues playing. When it does not have this option, the only way to continue watching the video is rebooting the complete website.

 

Is there some settings I can change in order to prevent this from happening again?

So when i plug in my laptop and i try to play Forza Horizon 3 on my laptop it runs smoothly 45fps+ but when i try to play the game when it's unplugged it gets less then 20fps. and that's with every game that the performance of the laptop goes down when i play it unplugged...

 

Is there a solution for this?

My Spectre X2 Pinch to Zoom stopped working on my screen.  I use it all the time.  I think it happened after a recent Windows 10 Major Oct 2017 Update that added 3D stuff and other items.  Probably a driver issue???  Any ideas.  The I can touch the screen and scroll and tap on items and that works but there is no zoom by pinching.

Screen flips upside down over and over, when I touch TouchPad. I try the control, ALT, arrow up, but next time I touch the pad it happens again. It's a new refurbished from Amazon.

Hello. I am having touble projecting my laptop onto a TV for presentation purposes. I use a cable from the TV to Laptop and works perfectly on other HP Probook models we have but my Boss and I have a Elitebook 840 G4. When I do a Function F4 options pop up on the right, one being Duplicate so I should get the my laptop showing on my laptop screen and also the TV. Unfortunately it just shows on the TV. All the other options work ok but they are not what I want. I have followed the set up as many have suggested on the internet with little success! Any ideas anyone? Thanking you in advance.

So I turned on my computer and it such a weird contrast, and the colors were all light, it was kind of blinding. I tried to fix the contrast but nothing changed. All the apps are that way, and it is also like that when I log into the computer. I have no idea how to fix this.

The hinge on my laptop broke .... and crimped the wire feeding the screen when it did.  So I now just have a white screen.  I hooked the computer to an external monitor, restarted the laptop and logged in via the fingerprint reader.  Now the external monitor works but its in "extended" view rather than mirroring the primary laptop screen.

 

Is there a way to toggle the dual screen setting to mirror the primary screen?  Obviously I can't "see" the primary screen at the moment so while the mouse/touchpad is active, I can't see the primary screen to know what  I'm pointing at.
