For the past few months my laptop screen has been broken and ive been using a dvi to hdmi (or is it hdmi dvi? Laptop is hdmi, desktop monitor is dvi) cord to use said laptop. Since I figured out how to get it working the first time, any issues have been fixed in a minute or two.
But the day before yesterday let the battery on my laptop run out (somewhat common when I leave the house for longer than an hour or two) and when I tried to start the screen sharing again it wouldn't work.
My laptop screen is totally busted (rarely can I see tiny bits of what's on the screen) so I dont know what's actually showing up.
Ive tried pressing F4 (the screen share button) and using the arrow keys tel select the options I know are there (but can't properly see. Can see when the little menu thing pops up a bit), tried holding it down, and holding the fn and f4 keys down together, and closing the lid right when I turn it on.
Im thinking the fault is with my laptop or the cord. Maybe even the dvI port on my monitor since the vga one works when I use it for my Xbox.
I can't afford to have it fixed (either by me or in a shop) so if I can't get it to work Im SoL
