I have the same problem with my HP Envy laptop.  After windows update and reboot, the screen is black with just the mouse cursor.  I can control-alt-delete and bring up menus to reboot.

 

After going into the recovery screen on reboot, I can restore to a previous version of Windows.  The problem is that the windows update keeps happening and this issue persists.  This is very annoying.  There needs to be a permanent fix for this.

 

In the meanwhile, I keep creating multiple restore points in fear of not being able to recover.

Once switching on power button it displays screen for few seconds with users name, thereafter, it goes blank for a long time before the screen comes back to use.

Hello,

 

I'm trying to connect my 22CWA monitor to my Dell Latitude E5440.  It is not being detected when connected with HDMI or VGA cables.

 

The only software the HP support site has for the monitor is the HP PC Hardware diagnostic UEFI.

 

Is this a driver problem?  Where can i get an updated driver?

 

Any help much appreciated

I have upgraded to Windows 10 x64 and I was using dual monitors.

 

One of the monitor has stopped working and when I chekced in the device manager, one of the 2 display adaptors has got an exclaimation mark beside it and says:

 

 

 

 

I tried to update the driver but it was usefull.

 

Can you give me a hand with this issue?

Dear,

 

I purchased a new probook g430 g4 last week and I'm having trouble with my klick pad/touch pad.

I can't seem to activate the middle mouse button making browsing the web very annoying.  I tried the two drivers on the support site of HP and neither work.  Without installing the new drivers, I was able to get into a very basic Synaptics configuration screen without support for the middle mouse button.  After installing the new drivers, I can't even find the Synaptics configuration sceen.  The taskbad icon refers to microsoft mouse and touchpad settings where the settings for 3 finger or 4 finger click can only be configured for microsoft action (cortana or action center).

 

My feelings is that I don't have the correct drivers eventhough they come from the website of HP.  Any knows where I can find the correct drivers?

Hi HP! I have beautifull HP Omen, whitch I really like. After upgrading Windows my NVIDIA stop work. I install last BIOS, and last drivers from https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-omen-15-5100-notebook-pc/7771339/model/8375788/drivers?sku=N0K44EA and they doesn't work.

Also I try install the latest drivers from NVIDIA site, and it doesen't work too.

How I can return my GTX 960m to work?

Today when I was using Android Studio , suddenly the screen started turning pink, and within nearly 10seconds it turned pink except the topmost portion of the screen, which is white still now. I tried by restarting the PC , tried disconnecting the

battery and reconnecting it but its just same as previous. I am using windows 10 pro, 64-bit and I have the latest updates installed from windows update. Please help me.

I can not connect my HP Elite Display S24Ouj with only USBc to HP Spectre Notebook Sno CND6446G42.

Monitor is black but see that USBC is connected. Monitor drivers updated but not acceped by Windows (I think)

Hello everyone,
 
I need help with my Pavilion 17 f-000 series laptop. Ever since I changed my hard drive to a SSD, the laptop has two issues I do not understand. 
I changed my hard drive due to some hardware reserved memory and speed issues, which are more or less resolved now (I am referring to this thread)
 
Problem 1. Laptop does not turn on: 
Now, the Pavilion 17 f-000 series laptop does not always start when I push the power button. Strangely, it sometimes does jump on normally, but then there are times when nothing happens for hours. No matter how often I push the power button, how hard I press it, nothing happens. Then, a few hours later (without moving or touching the laptop at all), I push the button and the laptop starts without any issues. And everything else also works just fine!
I noted that this mostly (but I think not always only) happens after I put the laptop into sleep mode/hybernation or when the laptop put itself into this mode due to a low battery or no attention. 
Please note, I have all most recent HP drivers installed. 
 
Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
 
 
Problem 2 (blurry display):
After I installed Windows 10 and all the HP drivers on the new SDD, the laptop's display/screen sometimes functions oddly. When I scroll on websites or in office documents, the laptop always takes some time until it shows the text/pictures sharply. I.e., when I scroll down, the display always is blurry for a short time.
 
What is this? How I can solve this issue?

Hi

ive got a hp probook 450 G3 i7 thats got a resolution problem so i plug my 22inch screen in it comes up with " input signal out of range change settings to 1680X1050 which its not available on my laptop so the screen goes to sleep .can any 1 help me.

Trying to attach a projector via usb c to VGA adapter .... nothing

Then tried to read just  memory stick via a usb c 4 port hub... still nothing

Its as if this port is only a charging port as it keeps saying connect hp power adapter when plugging in the VGA adapter

 

Any help wil be appriciated

Good day!

 

I need help on FPS dropping issue, just bought my laptop Sept-03-17

 

During my game experience especially when we are clashing (DOTA 2, DIABLO 3) or every 3-5mins the framerates is dropping to 10fps. Althought it is not a gaming laptop but it should run smoothly in a minimum setup. I got core i3-5005u 4gb ram no videocard but i never experience fps drop issue. I thought upgrading to i7-7500u 12gb ram 4gb nvidia 940mx could give me better gaming but i was wrong.  

 

I already reset on factory reset.

Drivers updated (Graphics, Chipset and BIOS) via HP Support Assistant and also in Device Manager,

I adjusted the NVIDIA to performance mode and set as default graphic,

I also set the power on performance mode

 

When the AC adapter is plugged, my laptop got too much laggy

 

I also run PC Bench Mark, during the GPU testing fps is also dropping

 

Is it hardware issue?

No one I talked with  nor HP's heldesk nor Windiw's helpdesk could get the computer work on Windows 10 after a update they forced on me, so I had to go back to Windows 7 (32-bit). After that everyting workes fine, exept that I can not use the HDMI-cable anymore. When I try the TV responds "No Signal".

Hi, I recently started having issue with my laptop. I got my new motherboard and due to which the graphic card driver is not installing. I tried to install Intel HD Graphics 4000 in my laptop which was onboard graphics but it didn't worked, it starts crashing as soon as I restarted my pc. A black screen occurs and after that half pixalated screen shows up and the latptop restarts itself. The process is continuously until I format my laptop to windows 7 Ultimate back. The same issue was in Windows 8 which was pre installed in this laptop and same issue happens with Windows 10. Is there any solution to installed on board graphics or discrete graphics (AMD Radeon HD 8670M).

The touchpad on my laptop is disabled and there is also a icon in the taskbar that confirms this, but I don't know how to enable it again..

The cover to my backspace bar popped of and I cannot get it to lock into place for anything. There are 2 moveable bars and I am not sure which way they should be turned or now everything locks together. I have looked at several youtube videos but can't find one with this particular situation. Can someone advise please? Thanks

I received my new HP Envy 13-ad011na today. After turning it on and setting it all up, I have noticed that the touch screen doesn't work. Is this something which I need to set up? Or is there an issue with my screen?
