External Monitor on Elite x2 - Will not work with Duplicate scre

Product Name: Elite x2

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I plug an external adapter into the USB-C socket i.e. a USB-C to VGA adaptor and try to have the Notebook and a projector running with duplicate screen option - It will not work.

I can get it to go into the extend option ar the external screen (projector) only - but it will not work on Duplicate - it will change mode and will only show on the notebook internal screen, nothing shows on the external (projector).

Can anyone help?

I am trying to find an active stylus that will work on my laptop, product number W0U47AV. I bought a Bamboo Ink which did not work, and then I bought Hp Pen 1MR94AA#ABL. The HP Pen did not work, even though the sales rep said it would. Do you think it could be a software issue?

The screen on my fairly new (~May 2017) Spectre consistently flickers badly and often goes completely black. It seems worse if I adjust the tilt of the screen, switch to tablet mode, or connect/disconnect USB-C devices. It's reached the point where the laptop is frequently unusable and is extremely frustrating.

I've confirmed, via the HP Support Assistant, that I am current on drivers, BIOS, etc. I've reinstalled the display drivers (essentially the same version overwritten) multiple times, followed by reboot, etc. I've run the full set of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tools - all successful.

There are no problems when the laptop is closed and I'm running an external monitor - it's only with the internal screen, both in stand-alone mode and if open with an additional external monitor connected.

While I've wanted to avoid this, I've reached the point where I feel that I've exhausted all options - I've searched rigorously through the forums here (and have seen many others with similar problems) with no luck, so I'm at my wits end.

Hello. My notebook dose not want to turn on. Fans start but no image and lcd is black. Model is pavilion 15 white with black lcd frame. Caps lock is blinking 3 times slow then 2 times fast or maybe the other way around. 2 times fast 3 times slow. What dose this code mean? I reseated ram memory, unplug the battery from motherboard.. reconected a lot of flex cables nothing works.

I just bought a very nice monitor (28" UHD), which works well with other laptops (with 60 Hz on the resolution 3840x2160).

However the HP Elitebook 820 G3 (bought in May 2016) only offers me max. 30 Hz frequency which also leads to some flickering and color problems. According to HP (https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c04913012#AbT3) this laptop should easily provide the desired functionality.

I downloaded and ran several driver updates from HP support pages: sp75105, sp75855, sp78116, sp78724, sp80323 and sp81158 but without any change on this matter... The monitor is directly connected using displayport.

Can anybody or HP support please let me know how to fix this issue?

When waking from sleep, there is no blinking light to indicate scan is ready, and it acts dead! The onlt way to gain access is to put in the Windows password.

Hello. Pls i really need help

I have a hp probook 4540s and was operation on windows 8 with both intel and amd drivers working fine.

I had my complete set of drivers cd for both Win 7 and 8, as it came with the laptop.

But then i upgraded to windows 10 and everything set to run with high performance on my amd catalyst manager crashes.

uninstalled both drivers, updated that of intel from the device manager, and downloaded an amd catalyst driver for the hp support site, for my laptop on windows 10.

Now amd is installed but my Total Available Graphics Memory is still low at 1792

and Dedicated Video Memory at 32 mb

which should have been 5000 and something for Total graphics memory and 1000 and something for the dedicated memory, if the amd driver was working properly.

PLEASE PLEASE.

i really need your help urgently.

i usually run my 3dsmax and games on high performance in amd. but now i can't

or can rather, but with them crashing.

I really dont know what to do anymore

Dear All,

I am using my HP Spectre 360 with a large monitor (with the screen of the laptop off).

Here is what I would like to do: since I am not using the screen of the laptop when connected to the large monitor, then i would like to use the laptop with the screen folded behind the keyboard (as in the tablet mode position). However, if I fold the screen as in tablet mode, then the keyboard doesn't work.

Is there a way to have the screen of the laptop in tablet mode position (screen folded behing the keyboard even though the use is not a tablet use but here the laptop is used with a large monitor) and use the keyboard of the laptop?

Hi!

I use my notebook as a desktop PC - with an external display connected to HDMI-port. The screens layout is specified as "Use only screen 2", i.e. only external display. When I do this setting the built-in display is disabled, as I want. However, this setting is retained only until the notebook restarts / hibernates.
After the restarting, the image appears first on the built-in display, then switches to the external display (the built-in display turns off), the welcome screen is displayed only on the external display, but after I log in, the built-in display turns on and the desktop expands to it (the external display remains main) until I again manually turn it off.
How can I get the screen settings to be saved?

I have tried and tried to get my camera to open on my Envy X360 laptop by rolling back/reinstalling drivers, trying new software etc but as soon as i restart or turn on my laptop, the camera fails to launch again. Please could someone help me out here as i cant seem to find a real solution after searching multiple threads.

Hello,

I noticed that display of my notebook is blinking frequently after upgrading to windows 10.

My problem is started when I upgraded to windows 10 last year but at the beginning, I faced this issue while I am reading the E-Books I thought the problem is with Chrome. So I ignored it but nowadays the problem is increasing and my display is blinking even if I am simply surfing the web.

I performed clean install 2 times with windows 10 but the problem isn't fixed. I have installed Linux kali as my secondary OS but the display is working fine for several hours.

I have up to date graphics driver, Windows, and Chrome both are up to date.

Please provide some help

This is probaly the wrong section but I've been at this for 4 days now and have tried everything I can think of. A few days ago all of my games suddenly began to flicker to a black screen. Then after a few mintues of this they would freeze, close down, then I would get the message

"Appliction has ben blocked from accessing Graphics hardware"

I have no idea what this means and google/youtube has been useless. My drivers are all updated, and so is the steam cilent and the games (it does this with minecraft and Yugioh go pro as well). My laptop can run these games smoothly. And I have found that with Stardew Valley changing the screen resolution does help a bit. But the freeze/closing still happens.

My laptop's screen has begun showing me this odd green checkerboard like.. thing that sometimes appears as black, and sometimes while browsing the text on the screen becomes... blurry? Like when a printer jams and the words come out all over eacother and fuzzy. And finally, my internet browser has begun to freeze as well. Not closing just freezing.

I have McAfee anti-virus, microsoft office 2016, Fallout Shelter downloaded from google, a gameboy emulator (that works fine tested on 3 games) and a few files for school including powerpoints and textbooks, but nothing crazy.

I think it might be my GPU, but I got this laptop less than a year ago. In fact it's still under warrenty.

Thanks in advance! And if it is my GPU... should I just get a new laptop or replace it?

This is a brand new laptop (17-x027cl), I can't get the cd/dvd player to operate. I put a disc in, I hear the motor turning it, then, the motor stops turning it. Nothing further happens.

i was some troubleshoot but this problem not solved.

1. keyboard mouse driver uninstall lettest driver from hp website upgrade

2. chipset driver upgrade

3. msconfig & easy access keyboars&mouse filter disable etc

4. bois default & lettest bios update

5. hp troubleshoot process was access

6. Bios diagnostic i dont run (but i have no keyboard sorry after try it)

7. windows 10 update

8. this system orignal hp recovery intalled

8. some etc..

Please help me this problem solve

Hello.

The screen on my HP Envy TouchSmart 15 Notebook, model 15-j144na has cracked and is not covered by warranty.

Please advise if I can purchase screen to replace myself? Is there a vendor who supplies official HP parts rather than copies?

1) Bluetooth mouse freezes often while touchpad continues to work.

2) Bluetooth mouse moves and scrolls via the scroll wheel but will not click/select

Mouse is an HP W2Q00AA

Operating system is Windows 10 64bit

Tried deleating the driver for the bluetooth mouse and rebooting twice per the instructions in another question response but no improvement.

Help greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm new to this community. I found something weird to my pretty brand new Spectre 13 (kaby-lake) (bought date 12nd of July).

Since couple of days, when I'm turning on my Spectre, the HP logo appears, the circle of dots are spinning and just a blink of eye before it loads Windows logon screen, during the last moment of HP logo appearing, the scrren gets (I don't know how to accurately describe it) distorted.

And it only happens when I turn Spectre on, only on that one milisecond. I don't know is this something to be worry about and if it needs to be send back or it will be allright?

Secondly, yesterday I was browsering the web, and than the right part of the screen (about 1/5 od length) turned darker much more darker than the rest of the screen. I was shocked but adjusting the brightness manages to fully recover the flat-rate brightness. But like teh first problem I'm wondering is this is just some software artecacts and I have nothing to be worry about or is my Spectre faulty?

In real life it's less visible than on the picture I attached.

Is this a common problem?
