I have a laptop and recently the letter "t" was sticking and repeating making it difficult to type. Now the letter "d" is doing the same thing. Nothing has been spilled on the keyboard and there is no dust underneath. The laptop is 5 years old never have been dropped or abused in any way. I noticed that when I shut the lid down and reopen it to start the computer the screen is black until I moved the lid back and forth until I find that spot that keeps the screen on. Would it be advisable to have my laptop fixed or just buy a new one? If I have it fixed what would be the apx cost range.

x360 docking station - External Monitors
The user connections his x360 laptop with the HP USB C Docking station.
When he turns on the docking station, the montiors should turn, but they dont, he needs to open up the lid of the laptop and enter in the bitlocker password; when he closes the lid, the screens turn on.
Any way around this? So he wont have to always lift up the lid

Screen problems
Hi guys,
I have a peculiar problem and I cannot find the reason for this. It used to go back and forth to normal to where it is now after the problems with battery arised. When my computer was not connected to a power source and system would shut down automatically and after restarting my screen had this problem but if I manually turn it off, it used to come back to normal. Now my screen is permanantly displayed in this manner. I will try my best to explain the situation and I will add a pic to help understand.
My screen only shows up 80% of the way. The rest of the screen is blacked out. Another thing is that the top of my screen also comes on the bottom of the screen. Please help in any way possible. I have tried the display options but no help.

Problem with digital pen for HP Envy x360
I have a HP Envy x360 15-bp002nb and I cannot get a digital pen to work with it. Both pens I purchased were on the Compatability List on support.hp.com. I currently have HP Pen (Microsoft) - 1CP24AV / Y0C43AV , SPS: 920241-001 / 910942-001. Per the instructions of both pens, I turned on the Envy, put the battery in the pen and tapped it on the screen. No response, nadda. I also tried a new battery and clicking the buttons, with no luck. Is there a setting that I need to change somewhere? Was I misinformed that the Envy is compatible with a digital pen?

The video card drivers are not correctly installed
Hello! I broke the hard drive. I bought a new one and installed it in the laptop.
There was a problem installing the driver for the video card. Install the wrong drivers for the video card, namely: should be for the AMD video card 7690 m. And the AMD utility installs 6700 series ...
Checked AIDA64 - all right, it costs 7690m. But the driver is not installed either.
I disassembled the laptop and looked at the chip of the video card - it really is 6 series. What to do now?
How do I put the normal driver? Where to get them and how did it work before?

Display, Graphics, & Keyboard Issues
I have several issues with my laptop. I tried downloading and installing all the drivers from HP again, but nothing changed other than my keyboard buttons for brightness and display (F2, F3, and F4) stopped working. Problems I need help with.
1. Keyboard buttons for brightness and display (F2, F3, and F4) stopped working.
2. HDMI output is not working. Cable is snug, but "Detect" does nothing and "Identify" only causes a "1" to pop up on the screen dispite a monitor being hooked up.
3. The BlueRay will not work. It will still read CDs and play DVDs, but it just stopped working for bluerays.
4. I should have an integrated, switchable 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 switchable graphics [HDMI, VGA] - For Dual Core Processors. It does not register and AMD catalist doesn't recognize anything and the computer properties also doesn't recognize the card.

Windows10 fail with videodrivers
Hi! How to install videodrivers on Windows 10 on my notebook?
Windows10 incorrectly identifies the graphics card. My card is radeon hd6470m, windows identifies as radeon hd 7400 series
Deleting drivers are does not help. After deleting Win10 automatically install this driver, again (hd7400), then windows call to me, that drivers are does not work. LoL!
Drivers from AMD site also does not help
All the ways I know, like editing a "policy group", editing the "registry" - DO NOT HELP

Integrated Cam is not working properly
My integrated camera is not working with the Facebook Messenger or any other video chatting site. Although it works properly on Skype Messenger and Omegle website. Today, I installed YouCam software from HP website. When it opens a warning message appears that ' YouCam can not connect to the HP Vision Camera". I don't understand why it happened? Also when I open the camera, weather or health and tips app from windows start menu, it opens and stops rapidly. Please assist me to get out of this.

Differences on Two omen models
Hi,there is too very similar models of this laptop. W250na and W102na. My question is about The differences. one has a i7 6700hq other one has a i7 7700hq. Other difference that I can see from th pictures is that the W250na has a streamlined look towards the bottom. My biggest question is is there any other differences? Mainly the screen are the displays identical? The 1080p versions are they both the same IPS 330nit panel? Thanks

How can i fix my graphics memory?
my hp elitebook 8440p has a total available graphic memory of 2967MB and a dedicated video memory of 64 when i use the intel basic adapter and when i switch to the microsoft basic display adapter my dedicated video memory becomes 0, how can i fix it. I tought it was a graphic inclined PC for art, gaming and stuff.

Extended monitor only supports 1 additional monitor?
Hi
I am trying to add 2 monitors to my HP Pavilion - 15-au183sa laptop but it only is able to detect 1 monitor
the video card is: Intel HD Graphics 620 card
I am using an HDMI splitter to connect the 2 external monitors, however the laptop only detects 1 external and so the end result is that my laptop is one screen and both external monitors are cloned and the 2nd screen
I assume that I will need to install a new video card for this?

HDMI output inverted colours
Hi,
After opening the Intel graphics settings window, to doubble check my screen resolution, the colours on my secondary screen went all crazy... It everything that's supposed to be blue magenta, and yellow is green...
I have conected the monitor to another PC, and it worked just fine on that one.
How can i troubleshoot/repare or reset my HDMI port?

HP Elite Book 840 G4 - Brightness Function Keys don't work
Hello,
I have searched your forum and see other people have had help with similar issues, so hoping you experts can help me also 
I have the above model of laptop which I reinstalled with Windows 10 Enterprise. The installation was pretty hassle free and Windows Device Manager reported no issues with any drivers it sourced via Windows update. However, my audio and function keys did not work properly. I solved the audio issue by installing the driver from the HP support page. I then went through all the remaining drivers on the page, installing anything relevant.
I installed the HP hotkey support driver and some of the keys sprung back into action but not the brightness keys (F5 & F6).
I tried the advice on a similar thread checking the 'Generic P n P monitor' hadnt been disabled during the Graphics card driver install but it was enabled.
I also had a look for the 'HP System Event Utility' other people had mentioned fixed this issue for them but this download doesnt seem to be available for the model above.
Can anyone help with this issue? Or suggest something that may work in my case ?

I'm looking to buy a laptop to play football manger in 3d. My current HP with Iris graphics is not suitable.
Is the Radeon r7 in the HP15-ba044na dedicated or shared? what model number is it also please? Will the quad core amd processor allow shared graphics to run this in 3d if the graphics are integrated?

Brightness problems
My computer keeps turning the brightness down about every two minute. It makes the symbol in the corner and turn the brightness down to the lowest, like what would happen if someone taps the f2 button. It is not because of a setting, and it began to do it for some months ago. It is 1 year old. What should I do about it?

Trackpad Sensitivity
My trackpad is WAY too sensitive that the mouse cursor jumps all over the place while typing. This is a work laptop and it's extremely frustrating and causes a lot of typing errors and misspellings.
Under the control pannel I do NOT have a trackpad or touchpad option.
