Dear community,

I have bought the HP ZBook Studio G4, and am very satisfied with it. There is however one noticable "bug" with the display. On both higher and lower brightness levels, an image persistance effect occurs, very fast. It takes only a few minutes to have a vague inprint of the previously screen. It is especially noticable when you browse for a while, then go to task manager with "ctrl+alt+delete", which makes the screen a uniform colour.

This is not a gamebreaking thing, but as I intend to use this laptop for at least a few years, it could be getting worse over time, or perhaps even result in other display related problems.

For reference I have attached a photo of the display, taken just after I typed this post. The HP logo is clearly visible, same as the taskbars.

Currently, to preserve the screen I keep the brightness as low as possible, as the effect is atleast slightly less noticable, and screen goes to sleep after 3 minutes (on-battery).

I hope someone has experience with this problem, and perhaps knows a fix, otherwise I'd have to contact support I guess. Thanks in advance.

I have a hp envy x360 15' touch screen laptop. It was working just fine but I recently came to India on a trip and all of a sudden the screen went blank and grey. I tried connecting external monitor and the display is perfectly fine on the monitor. The windows updated just last week.

The screen sometimes comes back to display, but again goes dark. Please suggest me something.

Hi, the screen on my laptop has developed a fault where it flickers horizontally across all of the screen.

I have tried plugging in a external desktop screen and that is fine.

I have also tried a whole new screen which included wiring up to the plug of the motherboard and I know it works perfectly, but still I have the screen flickering away.

I'm trying to figure out it is a fault on the motherboard like the graphics chip but if it works fine with an external screen then I don't think it could be that.

Any ideas. Thanks

Yellow tint to screen

Laptop screen is yellowish in color, It is not pure white. Issue persists all the time.

It is very much annoying and strain for eyes. It is a brand new laptop and problem appeared as soon as I opened the laptop. please help here.

Maybe someone kept something heavy on my Pavillion dv2000, as the screen on my laptop is divided into 6 parts, none of which are readable. Actually it is just a collection of flickering rectangles.

occasional screen flickering on brand new HP SPECTRE 15

After I got my new HP SPECTRE X360 15 new computer, I have been having this occassionally flickering/flashing screen issue. Usually it happens a couple times a day and only lasts for a second, but it is quite annoying. Usually only the bottom of the screen flashes, but sometimes the whole screen could twist for a second then back to normal. I checked on-line, and some people said it could be a simple outdated driver issue. I updated all the drivers, but the problem remains.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this? or anyone suffering from the same problem? Thanks!

All Windows updates have been installed.

BIOS is F.41 (updated 8/19/17)

Video resolution 1920 x 1080 60Hz

Driver version 22.20.16.4691 (updated 8/19/17)

Description of the problem:

A few days ago this machine's screen started going black at random times. It happens aftersigning in; the desktop is visible. It happens whether or not a program is running.

The computer returns to normal when I click the mouse. w, after a few minutes, the screen goes black again.

If a program was running it is still visible and functioning as normal.

Any thoughts?

Backlight bleed has suddenly gotten worse.

The screen on my notebook has always had some slight backlight bleeding although it wasn't noticeable unless the screen was totaly black. I haven't had any problems with it up until a few days ago when two new bright patches appeared on the left hand side of the screen. Is this to be expected as the laptop ages or could it be a sign of something worse?

The touchpad on my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC is not working and it appears that I might have pressed something on the laptop to turn it off.

All software is up-to-date and has been re-installed.

Ghost Touches on my HP Pavilion x360

I have had this laptop since Christmas and it just within the last two months has been having issues with ghost touching. I have visual touch on so I can see them. It's a vertical line in the middle of the screen that touches over and over. It basically disables the use of the rest of the computer. There are no scratches or cracks on the screen. It only starts doing it about 20 seconds after OPENING the computer, then stops after about a minute. However, there is still a random touch every now and again after it stops. Can anyone tell me why or possibly how to fix this issue? Thanks so much!

I have a

HP Pavilion 17-g121wm

laptop. Had it around a year now. The screen boots up with colored lines in one half of the screen. While the other half shows the desktop of Windows. It'sl ike the video chip is going bad or bad connection somewhere. What do I do to get this fixed? I usually just toss things like that in the trash and get another one. But this laptop isnt that old and hate to just toss it out after spending so much money on it. I didn't get hardly any use with it. It mainly stayed in standby mode.....

This issue of mine had been taken forward to various team like HP customer support and HP redemption team but never got resolved.

I already had a lot of conversation regarding this issue with them.

This is regarding the HP Amazing Diwali Offer I was supposed to get with the Laptop I purchased.

Redemption code: 90085922
Notebook part/model no: HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab220TX
Notebook serial no: 5CD5327GMJ

The Offers were:

1. Additional 1 Year Onsite Warranty

2. MobiKwik Top-up worth Rs. 2100/-

There wasn't any issue with the first offer but in case of second offer I could redeem only Rs.1050. I had started availing the offer Dec '15 as per the below steps and conditions from HP redemption Cell.

Steps to Redeem:

Once customer’s claim is approved, HP will email MobiKwik voucher code to customer which is valid for 6 months.
Customer tops-up his/her MobiKwik wallet by Rs. 350. Customer needs to enter voucher code while topping up his wallet by Rs. 350.
MobiKwik will put additional Rs. 350 in customer’s wallet, so total amount in wallet will be Rs. 700.
Customer can visit bouquet of e-commerce websites and use Rs. 700/- to make payments.
Customer needs to perform these 4 steps for 6 months and keep getting extra Rs. 350/- from MobiKwik.

Terms and Conditions:

As per Mobikwik, they had discontinued the Promo Code provided by HP, whereas I redeemed only Rs.1050 of the Offer provided by HP.

Then, whenever I contacted HP customer service, there were always some or other issues that came up during conversations. Either they were trying to ignore me or they didn't want to provided the offer they have guaranteed at the time of purchase.

I didn't expect this kind of service from such a reputed or leading brand.

Please take the necessary actions and let me know if you need to any other details for matter.

Touchpad for EliteBook 8750p

Reading the posts, I have concluded that like mine, the touchpad on these elite machines does not work properly. The links and information posted by the support folks are either disabled or not helpful.

When I type a document or an email (and i do a lot of those), the cursor jumps at times and is not stable. Perhaps my hands are too large, or something to do with electrostatic on my personal body. At anty event, HOW CAN WE DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD on EliteBook 8570p. And please do not put a link or a document that is not reachable. Thanks.

Two screens connected to HP UltraSlim Docking Station

Hello,

we are using several Notebooks with the HP UltraSlim Docking Station to which I have connected 2 external 24" Monitors using the VGA and DisplayPort connections. With the Notebook itself this makes 3 screens.

This works like a charm for a Probook 650 G2 and a Probook 650 G3.

Now I received another Probook 650 G3 with the same Docking Station and I don't know why, but I am only able to make work one of the both screens... The other one is recognized too by the system as you can see below.

Unfortunately, I don't have the possibility to change the properties of the second screen. ↓

For example I have plugged in the two screens to the Docking Station by VGA and DisplayPort. The screen connected with DisplayPort isn't getting a signal. When I remove the VGA connection, the second screen works properly. But both together are causing the problems described.

Am I missing something? For the two other Notebooks it worked without problems.

I have an HP 15-aq104na. My laptop seems to have trouble playing back videos (on my harddrive, not streaming). The video is lagging and plays in slow motion without sound. Is there anything I can do to correct this?

How do I get pen stylus to work properly in Adobe Photoshop?

I recently bought HP Envy x360 for Adobe Photoshop use (since I couldn't afford a Mac at this time).

I got a pen that works on the Envy in Tablet mode, however, it doesn't work properly in Photoshop. I can select tools, but I can't draw or do anything on the art board with the pen (nor use my finger to draw).

Can someone tell me how I can get the pen to work in tablet mode to draw please?

PS: I am a PC noob, coming from 20 years of mac usage.
