Hey!

 

I have that HP DV7 6031eo laptop and it ran Win 7 Home Premium. But when Win 8 came out in here Finland I decided to upgrade my system. At first (maybe for a year) everything was perfectly fine, but now  my computer is facing problems with that ATI Radeon 6650. Problems started after upgrading to 8.1 and updating those 6650´s drivers. Most of times my computer gets BSOD when I try to start my computer, and then error code is something like "atikmdag.sys". I have tried to unistall and reinstall those drivers (and beta versions) many times and from many different sources, but result is the same. When I even try install Catalyst software and other pieces to my computer, my computer gets BSOD again with error code "SYSTEM-THREAD-EXCEPTION-NOT HANDLED - (AtihdWB6.sys)". I have also reinstalled even Win 7 and Win 8 couple times - no result. But now somehow I got my computer to work at least that much I can write here. Now I see that my ATI RADEON 6650 isn´t showing in my computer anymore. It shows only some ATI RADEON 4200 Mobility, which is pretty unknown for me. I would appreciate if someone could tell how I get my computer to run properly with ATI RADEON 6650 without those lags.

I am unable to watch videos on my HP Pavilion notebook due to constant buffering/freezing/cutting activity.  Any suggestions about how to view a video from start to finish without interruption?

 

Its a brand new laptop, and it was doing this from the beginning. Regardless of which video player i use, vlc, mpc player, PotPlayer.

 

Out of the 100 days i played videos on my laptop, I only had one clean day in which I was able to watch a movie without interference/freezing.

 

I am refering to video from my hard drive, but the online streaming video has a natural streaming problem

I have an HP Envy dv7 laptop running windows 8.1 I forgot my windows password so I made a 3rd party password reset disk. I changed the bios to legacy and disabled secure boot to boot from dvd drive. The disk wouldn't load so I set the bios back to the original settings. Now I hear the chime that windows has loaded but there is a black screen. Anyone run into this problem before? Thank you in advance for any help.

I was looking to update the drivers for this video card in order to support new updates and fixes for PC games that are currently on the market.  However, for whatever reason I can't do this through Radeon itself and it requires me to use the updates via HP's website.  The only problem here, is that HP hasn't updated the video card driver downloads for the Radeon HD 6770M for this computer since 11-18-2011.  Is there a way to get the newest driver for this video card installed?  If not I find this to be very ridiculous.  Can HP update it or at least point me in the right direction to fix this issue?  I find it strange that I'm required to download an update for a Radeon video card ONLY by doing it through HP's site which hasn't updated the file since 2011.  Thanks for your time

I have an HP 2000-2b44dx that I bought in July. Today when I turned it on the screen was black. The hard drive works, as I can faintly see the screen. I've taken the battery out, unplugged it, and had it turned off for several hours. Any recommendations?

Hello,

I have a HP Pavillion dv7 3173nr. I've had it for about 4 years now. I am currently having the problem involving the screen not coming out when i turn on the laptop.

Problems somewhat started a year ago, my screen would go conpletely white when the screen was in a certain position. Annoying, but i put off plans to get it fixed or looked at because i couldn't be bothered at the time. Still, the computer was usable.

Now it seems my computer screen doesn't want to turn on at all. The computer starts up; i hear the fan, lights blinking, caps lock light on, but no image. Not even a faint one, just completely black as if it was turned off. I tried hooking up my HDMI to the TV, and i would get a picture, however i would get a blank image, or (when turning it on) the HP startup screen but it seems as though the HP logo is cut off by some kind of black bar, and it will remain on this screen indefinately.

I am worried about this, any help would be greatly appreciated.


I also posted this in the Lockups/freezes section because i wasn't sure where it properly goes so sorry about that.

Hi, I have an envy 17 j103el with Win 8.

I cannot upgrade the nvidia 750m driver, neither with the original nvidia driver, nor with the driver downloaded from the HP support page.

The problem is that after a little while, during the upgrade process, a BSOD is displayed saying there's a problem: VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR.

I have even tried to upgrade the Direct X.

Anyone can help?

Hi,

 

I'm having difficulty connecting my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j004sa Notebook to an AOC monitor (e2450swh) by HDMI.

I have checked the cable and he monitor on another laptop and they are both fine.

 

I have installed the driver for the monitor manually, and have actully had the HP laptop ad the monitor working fine on one occasion, following the proceedure in the HP manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03735710.pdf) of FIRST connecting the HDMI to the laptop, SECOND connecting to the monitor. I duplicated and extended the display fine.

 

The order of connecting them seemed important (after a few attempts failed in a different order)

 

Now I'm trying to connect again, in the correct order, but the monitor is not detecting and input, and the laptop is not detecting any monitor in the control panel. 

 

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

its a black screen and the only thing on it is the mouse cruiser
i have a pavilion it starts up good it goes to the windows logo but right after that it goes to black screen and i can see the mouse but it stays on the black screen
i have tried restoring it to its previous time
then i tried the battery thing where u take the batterie out hold the power button and then put the charger and turn it on that didnt work
not sure what to do

I cant install Ati Drivers Switchable graphic after install Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

fail in step of detection with oficial drivers from HP Page

 

 

i tried install visual c++ 2005 and 2008  libraries 

i tried drivers from ati for radeon 6490m with same result, and i tried in console mode

 

 

i tried in english language

i tried force install of hardware from descompressed folder of drivers

i tried downgrade the bios to F1.3 and later with the latest bios F1.B  (and i see the product number change respect the sticker of back of battery place, but serial its the some)

 

 

Radeon HD 6490m shows up in device manager with generic VGA display driver, the proper driver not is installed and have a exclamation symbol, if i force the driver from directory of extracted SWSETUP, show message it's not proper for your version of windows

Ok i have a 

HP Pavilion dv7-4269wm Entertainment Notebook PC with, ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 6370

yeah copy paste job there, but radeon says I need to go to hp for drivers and the drivers at HP are3 years old........I do not kinow which driver to get form radeon because yeah none really matches the card....

No display from screen or external monitor on power up.   Laptop powers up but no display have fitted new Motherboard but still not working but does power up.   I have tried changing the ram from and old HP laptop still no action.  I have also done the recommended hardware reset by holding down the power button with the battery out.

At my wits end can any one help please

Hi,

For the last couple of days I have been seeing occasionally some horizontal flickering white lines on parts of my screen. The most noticable one is right at the top above the maximised browser window centered. In detail it looks like static lines, white and thin. They are not always there. I cannot be certain but it sometimes appears when I open a window such as browser or documents from the desktop.

I have had this notebook PC for 2 years. The theme used doesnt seem to affect the problem; I have used both 7 aero and windows 7 classic themes but the problem persists every now and then.  There is nothing I can think of that I have downloaded or changed that could have created this problem. I am not too worried about it at present but it can be a bit worrying that sometimes it will happen a lot with a few lines. I can still clearly see the display with the lines present. When taking a screenshot of the problem, the lines do not appear on the screenshot. There have been no physical impacts to the screen or any damage to the laptop itself.

 

Notebook PC specs:

Windows 7 home premium x64,

HP compaq Presario CQ57,

AMD Vision sticker on the product with Duel Core and AMD radeon graphics card (6310 series)

Processor is e-300 apu at 1.3gHz

4.00 gb RAM (3.60gb useable)

3.4 windows experience index

Service pack 1.

My Video/Graphics drivers are updated (AMD)

Running a Microsoft FixIt doesnt find anything.

 

I very rarely play hardcore games. It is mainly simulation (not hard core) but havent played games on it any time soon before the problem started occuring.

 

I have tried to describe the problem as well as possible: Also, I appologise if there are any threads similar to this. Any help would be appricated. I will aim to respond to any replies ASAP. Thanks

Original problem was black screen on start-up. After following fault chart I have replaced motherboard, processor and hard-drive but problem remains. After keeping idle for a long period the start-up screen sometimes appears and have even managed to re-install OS & drivers etc but after switching off its back to black screen. On the occasions I have had video everything appears normal, which gives me hope there is a solution ....

So a while ago I got a Pavilion g7-1270ca with windows 7 (64-bit) and I am looking to update my driver, which is a Radeon HD 6470M. My current version is 8.882.2.0 and I was wondering if there is an update available, so if someone could let me know I would appreciate it.

HP Envy dv7 7333cl machine.  The screen brightness is constantly going from dim to bright.  Cannot find a fix, can't belive this is normal.
