Black screen help

When I turn on the PC, normal noise, such as the fan, is heard. But the screen stays black right away. I tried several times to do all that was described in the base of the HP support. Push the ignition key, download the electrons. At first it started, working normally. The next day, the problem was reappeared. Sometimes it turned off slowly, With pixels on the screen emitting a deafening sound. I connected the PC to the outside screen but did not read anything. I tried disassembling the video card, but nothing happens. Downloading electrons, but nothing happens anymore.

Display Adapter Fails to Start - Intel HD Graphics 4000

I recently updated to a newer build of Windows 10 build 15063 and since doing so my display adapter fails to start and is left with Code 43. I am using the most recent driver available for the Intel HD Graphics 4000 (10.18.10.4653). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, i have updated the driver manually and online and I have run the HP assiatnt and Intel Driver Utility. Each time it successfully installs the driver however it faisl to start and I revert back to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Everything runs fine except for a square patch I receuve on my laptop, fuzziness on text and shadows and I cannot connect to any external monitor.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions or have seen this? I cannot rol back to a previous version of Windows 10 as it is not there. I have tried reparing and reinstalling Windows 10 and that did not suffice. I also talked to a Microsoft agent who remote controlled my device, tried everything I already did, and said they needed to escalate this to a higher level technician whom wasn;t available until 1000pm the next day.

Device I am on is a HP  Elitebook Folio 9470m, running WIndows 10 Pro 64-Bit. Anyhelp or guidance would be appreciated.

Black Screen on Turning On Screen

Hi folks,

I'm hoping to find a solution to this issue. I feel like I've looked everywhere and tried everything with no luck.

The issue I'm having started after the Windows 10 Creators update. Ever since then, when I close the lid on my laptop and the screen turns off, when I open it again, it doesn't display anything but the cursor. The cursor displays correctly, changing to a hand when over links, etc. and I can still interact with things, I just can't see anything.

No amount of opening and closing the laptop lid fixes the issue. It can only be resolved by a hard restart.

I tried updating display drivers.
I tried changing power settings, disabling quick start.
I tried changing registry keys.
I tried a fresh Windows install via the Reset recovery option.
I tried the fancy key combinations, Win + P and Win + Ctrl + Shift + B.

This issue is completely independent of Sleep and Hibernate. It can start from Sleep and Hibernate just fine, it's just the turning off of the screen that's the issue. However, if I start from Sleep or Hibernate after the display has already stopped working as per above, then the display won't come back on at all.

I know that the Pavilion dv7 is an old (probably unsupported) laptop, but it's a good laptop and has served me well.

Details:
HP Pavilion dv7-3008TX
Windows 10 Home (x64)
i7-820QM
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GT 230M

Power Options:
Power Button - Hibernate
Sleep Button - Hibernate
Close Lid - Do nothing (Turns off display).
Fast Start-Up Disabled

Anyone know if there's an actual solution to this bug?

Cheers

USB-C to HDMI

Good morning,

I've a HP ENVY 13-ab008na with installed the official windows 10 and linux in dual boot.

I've tryed to use a second external monitor using a usb-c/hdmi adapter borrowed from a colleague (he has a mac), but I couldn't make it work on either windows nor linux.

So here are the questions:

Is the usb-c on this laptop enabled for video?

What features do I have to look for in my new adapter?

Thanks

Touch screen went autonomous & crazy after windows update

Hi,

I updated windows a couple of days ago. After this I realized the touchscreen became unusable, i.e.: the cursor was jumping away from the point it was before and jumped to the upper part of the screen in the right third area of it. Then white bubble appeared there, than this was walking down to the bottom of the screen, appearing and disappearing a couple of time meantime, meanwhile the cursor jumped here and there on the screen, opening windows on its own, marking areas in text on the screen, if I tried to move it to the desired position by mouse or touchpad, it did not reamained ther, just jumped back to the top... so it was a nightmare and a totally unusable PC at that time.

Certainly I spent days with digging after this, found different advices, how to get rid of this. I removed and reinstalled the original MS touchpad (!) driver -as it was suggested- this did not help. I updated this driver to the one from HP Support site of my PC - also did not help. Only thing that really helped so far was: to disable the touchscreen. When I did this, the PC operated normally, albeit I lost the touchscreen functionality. I can not play around the touchscreen driver, regarding I do not find that to my PC on the HP site. Though I read that the touchscreen driver 10.0.14393.351 -what I also have- causes similar problems on other manufacturers other models as well. That guy downgraded the touchscreen driver to 10.0.10240.16384 and than the touchscreen worked well.

I can not do this, because no touchscreen drivers on HP site to my model. (At least I did not find).

Please advice: what should I do to get back the total functionality of my beloved HP PC Smiley Happy

Thx in advance

my tablet turns off after 30 automatically. i checked the battery configuration and i made sure i never turns off, so it's not that. then it charges whenever it wants. Once its fully charged it will read: plugged but not charging so then i have to wait until its fully discharged in order to charge it again. its madness and its driving me crazy. i read that maybe it has to do with teh BIOS, but its seems that the only way to update it is by restarting the computer and pressing F10several times. the problem is that i spelt coffee over the keyboard sometime ago and it wont work. the onscreen keyboard doesnt have the fkeys. HELP!!! I 've been searching to find another keyboard online without any luck. by far, the worst investmentof my life.

Can't get into "photo-taking mode" anymore :(

Hello,

I know the Camera HP Photosmart M547 is very old but I want to give it to a child because he will still have fun with it so I really need your help.

My problem is that I can't get into the video- or photo-taking mode so the camera remains in Photo Inspectation mode and I want to know if it's a hardware issue of the mode-switch or a software problem I can solve.

Thank you very much!!

Ghost stain at bottom left of screen

When we turn the laptop on, a green smudge appears at the bottom left hand side of the screen. This has been there for the last 2 - 3 weeks.

It appears to be located behind the glass screen but not on the background to the screen (ie between the glass screen and the cursor).

Recently, the smudge apperars to be expanding and looks like somebody has wiped it vertically upwards with a cloth or a tissue.

Could you explain the cause of the stain, how to remove it and if not possible what is medium term impact on the laptop.

Thank you

Touchpad stopped working on HP 255 G5 Notebook

Suddenly the touchpad stopped working. I've been searching a lot on this forum and no solution works.

I've tried the double tap on the upper-left corner, but it didn't work. Additionally there's no button in the upper-left touchpad corner, nor light, nor Fn+key.

I've tried a complete reboot (not win 10 hibernation) through "shutdown /s /t 0" but it didn't work.

It might be useful to know that just before it happened IoBit driver booster prompted me to fix goldeneye ransomware vulnerability (I think it's about modifying win firewall) and I clicked ok. The process was very long, so I left the computer working and when I got back it was hibernated. When it woke up the touchpad was not working, the synaptic icon was not in the tray, and the control panel was showing some traces of touchpad that now are absent. For example clicking Start -> Settings -> Bluetooth, printers, mouse -> Mouse and touchpad, was showing some settings about touchpad, but now, after reboot there is nothing.

It might also help to know that I've a dual boot and the touchpad is not working under linux (mint) neither. So my suspects are about some BIOS settings (I use legacy mode). What should I do?

Can a driver update change BIOS settings? Does it have anything to do with firmware?

HP vs19e monitor goes black after start-up. Tried it on a different computer, same problem.

Hi for some reason i can't find the Nvidia drivers for my 15-ax203na that i've just bought and i need to reinstall them as the Nvidia Control Panel won't work, stating "you are not current using a display attached to nvidia gpu" though i was using it fine before.

On the actual support / drivers page for the 15-ax203na it actually has an AMD driver instead of Nvidia so i'm unable to download and install it, please help, thank you.
