I just got a refurbished HP laptop. Right out of the box the battery was dead. Now, whenever I unplug the AC adapter (After a few seconds) the computer screen starts glitching then goes blank. Then it restarts. I also got a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD. That was on AC power though, and only happened once. The computer will go into sleep mode while plugged in, but will restart attempting to go into sleep mode while unplugged. Please help me. I really need this pc.

Windows 10 64bit graphics drivers for HP G6-2302ax

0
0

I have bought the HP G6-2302ax back in 2014. It came pre-installed with Windows 8 64bit OS. Drivers for the laptop was available at HP support page of this model. in 2015, The laptop was upgraded to Windows 8.1 64bit. Fortunatately, HP provided the compatible drivers the new OS in their device support page.

Due to recent Ransomware attacks on old Microsoft OS installed computers, I had to upgrade this laptop to latest version of Windows 10 64bit to get all the security updates from Microsoft. Now, the problem is HP is not backing this laptop with Windows 10 64bit compatible drivers in their device support page. Though Microsoft has provided drivers for all of the components of this laptop, the drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 7420G + Radeon HD 7670M dual graphics driver and IDT Advanced Audio driver are not provided.

I would really appreciate if I'm provided the above-mentioned drivers (download links), so that I can run Windows 10 64bit flawlessly on my HP G6-2302ax.

Thank you.

Screen resolution problems on new HP Spectre x360

Apps (including browsers) working on my new PC seem to have trouble detecting my 1920x1080 screen resolution. The settings menu assures me I am on the maximum Full HD resolution; if I do a 'print screen', it yields an image that's 1920px across and 1080px down; and if I watch a video on YouTube or Vimeo and manually crank up the quality to 1080p, things look good. In short, my computer is capable of playing Full HD, as per the laptop specs. However, when I run any browser-based screen resolution test it tells me my screen is detected as being 1280x720. I've tried at least five different websites on two different browsers - Chrome and Edge. Indeed, this is the kind of quality I am getting when I ordinarily play videos. The quality I am getting on BBC iPlayer is good, but certainly not Full HD and - most problematically - my own HD videos look for all the world to be playing at 720p, despite (the same files) looking absolutely gorgeous when played on my (admittedly much larger full HD TV). I am deeply confused. I have spent more than an hour today chatting with a HP customer service rep who took remote control of my system, reinstalled graphics drivers and did a winsock reset. Nothing has changed. My computer is clearly capable of playing HD, but I cannot get certain apps (including native video players on my system) to display HD properly.

Other evidence that something is amiss is the look of certain buttons and dialogues. The three buttons in the top right corner of Chrome (minimise, expand, shut down) look like they belong on a machine from the early 2000s, and the dialogue box I conducted the HP Support chat today on was the same.

Despite all this, I still have a nagging doubt: are my eyes deceiving me, and is this just the way a 13-inch laptop screen 'does' HD? As things stand, HP is coming to collect back the laptop on Thursday with a view to giving me a replacement and I just don't know for sure whether there is anything wrong. But I have no doubt that the kind of quality I am getting when I go into Vimeo or YouTube and manually crank up the quality to 1080p is BETTER than when I play my (1080p) videos files off my desktop using, say, VLC or Windows Media Player. And I know for sure that when I play the same video file on my 42-inch HD TV and my new 13-inch HD laptop, the quality is worlds apart.

Thanks.

Very Slow after updating to windows 10 after updating the AMD Video Card

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Product No.A6N99EA#A2N Just updated to windows 10 which went very smooth. During the overall upgrade process I was prompted to update my video driver which I did. My Video Card: AMD RADEON HD6700M Current version is 15.201.1062.1151 Before the update no problems. After the update the pc is having long delays (BLACK SCREEN) at cold boot time and waking up after sleeping. Eventually it does boot and all is well after windows comes up. At boot time the windows 10 circle is rotating for a short time then I get a black screen for about 1.5 minutes then I see my mouse then a rotating circle again for maybe 10 seconds and then I get the windows 10 splash screen. All is fine after the splash screen. Same thing happens during wake up procedure.

All windows updates are current and I simply followed the download procedure when I was initially prompted to do the driver update. I have checked for updates several times from AMD but I always get the current driver is up to date message. These black screens are so long it is very unacceptable. HP support site is no help for they just point me to windows 10 and manufacturer of the device, card, whatever. I have uninstalled the entire update and reinstalled at least twice with exactly the same results.

The black screens make me think the system is waiting for a response from the video card and finally times out.  That's the way if feels. I have tried disabling the AMD services in the startup process but that didn't change a thing.

What can I do to stop getting the black screens and get back to a clean prompt boot?

Any help would be most welcome!!

I have a cracked screen. Please can anyone suggest where i can repair my laptop screen.

I live in Ontario, Canada. I have tried BEST BUY (Geek squard) and after a month they claimed they couldn't find the parts needed.

I would be grateful if someone can share with me  where and how they got their screen replaced. How the crack appeared on my screen still remains a mystery.

Using HP Notebook as a second screen

Is it possible to use my Notebook as a second screen for an All-In-One Lenovo desktop?

The Lenovo is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. It has a DisplayPort and 4 USB 2.0 ports.

The HP Notebook is running Windows 10 (64-bit) and has 1 HDMI, 3 USB 2.0.

I tried using a cord with DisplayPort end and HDMI end and that didn't work. I also bought an active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and used a standard HDMI cord and that didn't work as well.

Both computers aren't detecting each other.

Do both computers need to run the same OS? Do I need a special cord or adapter?

HP Envy HDMI external monitor not connecting/working

0

I wish to use this laptop as a business desk unit with 2 x external monitors.

I was told that the HP 3005pr USB3 Port Replicator USB 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1) Type-A would allow me to do this. No success other than for extra USB ports, it will not charge the Envy.

I have since been told that the Envy will not support 2 monitors. Is this correct?

I have tried connecting 1 x BenQ GW2270 HDMI monitor directly to the HDMI port of the Envy (3 different HDMI cables) and I cannot get any reaction from the monitor.

I spoke with HP Customer Service without much success, he thought the Envy HDMI port was not working.....

Can anyone assist me with this issue or was I badly advised and have purchased the wrong/incompatable equipment?

With Intel® HD Graphics 620. One HDMI and one USB C 3.1 port

Want to connect two monitors. One using the HDMI port and the one using the USB c port which I was made to understand can carry video.

The USB c port with various types of adapters (HDMI, Display port) does not recognise the display unit.

Any help how we can overcome?

Not working HDMI external monitor after BIOS update

0

Dear Support,

I have HP 250 G4 Notebook T6P47EA#AKC and everything was fine until 2017. July 03.

On that day the "HP Support Assistant" made 3 update.

- SP73250 (Realtek)

- SP79320 (Cyberlink)

and a "HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)"

It was absolute automaticly.

That is okay, BUT after this update the external monitor (via HDMI cable) does not work anymore.

I tried, with other HDMI cable, does not help.

I tried with the other HDMI port on the external monitor, does not help.

I read the forum, and I found many very useful article.

I tried delete the video card driver, and restart the notebook. It does not help.

I tried the firmware option (F2 menu before booting), and I resored an older BIOS version. -- As I remember the original version was F.10 Rev.A  --- After the recovering, with this old BIOS the external monitor worked again!!!

I was happy, but I  would like use my Notebook with the current BIOS, so I updated again to the F.22 Rev.A, but that was my big mistake!!!

The external monitor does not work AGAIN.

I tried with one earlier BIOS with the F.21 Rev.A version, but still does not work, and so, and so ...

Now I have tried all previous BIOS version what I found on the support site:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-250-g4-notebook-pc/7609933

But neither help. (except the F.11 Rev.A -- it cannot update to this)

How can I use again the HDMI external monitor?

So please help, what I have to do.

Best regards,

Bence
