Hi,
I got the HP Zbook Studio 840 to use for work a couple of weeks ago.
Got a HP Thunderbolt dock connected to it, and to that dock I got 3x HP Z24n displays connected via daisy-chain.
I thought I had fixed my problem with the IME Firmware update, but today when I got back to work and restarted the laptop (while still connected to the dock) , it would not display an image on any of the monitors.
If I opened the laptop screen (while connected to the dock), that screen was dark aswell.
It was also offline from Teamviewer. so it seems like it does not load windows at all or something.
If I unplug it from the dock and shut it down by holding the power button, then turn it back on; the laptop screen turns on.
If I then connect it to the Dock it might work OK, or the displays will not show up at all, but USB mouse/keybord works...
Connected it to my colleague's dock (he has 840 G3) , and there I got 2/3 screens showing up the first time, my laptop screen was closed.
It detected the third screen, but it was disabled.
Turned off the laptop, closed the screen and connected the dock, turned on the laptop by pressing the power button on the dock, and this time it is working as it should..
I have Thunderbolt security turned off in the bios.
It should not be like this if I Restart.. , my old HP Elitebook 8570p had none of these issues.
If I walk away from the machine, it will turn off the screens to save power, and when I return the screens may or may not come back on when I move the mouse or press a key.
I connected to the PC with Teamviewer and saw in Intel Grapgics Control Panel that no displays where listed, but then I pressed detect and all displays turned on.
All drivers are up to date (as far as I could find on device websites (Intel and others, as they are newer than on the HP website)
I do not have a dedicated GFX card on my laptop, using the one built into the CPU.
Many headaches with this laptop and dock, any help would be much appreciated.
