GRAPHICS DRIVERS NOT SUPPORTED

After spending over 1 hour on hold to HP complaints i though it would write my issues down here. So i'm having some annoying issues with one of your computers that i recently purchased. All issues that i would not expect out of a laptop that retails for $3700, OMEN by HP - 17-w106tx. This computer is specifically billed as a gaming PC and features a GTX1070. The computer is only 1 month old and does not have any viruses or malware. 1: The compuiter will not support current graphics drivers from NVIDIA and instead I am required to use a driver that is now 4 months old. Recently the HP support assistant required me to update my driver and when i did this it caused my games to crash and become unplayable, if i install current drivers from Geforce experience I experience the same issues. Sorting this issue out is very time consuming and frustrating having to repeatedly download and install drivers until one eventually works. The driver that does work is the one found on the HP website, which in itself is confusing as I would have thought that this would be the same as the one recommended by HP support assistant but it isnt. I think it is incredibly lazy for a manufacturer to sell a very expensive gaming computer that then forces you to rely on old drivers to play games. 2. When waking up from sleep the screen will not illuminate sometimes and will require me to do a hard reset to turn the screen back on. 3. When waking from sleep the computer will bug out and spend 1-2 minutes being completely unusable and randomly inputting commands without the keyboard or mousepad being touched. EG the start menu will continuously open and close, windows will minimise and maximise, videos that were paused will start and stop randomly. No actual inputs will have any effect and the computer will just randomly do its own thing. Sometimes this requires another hard reset to get it back to normal. 4. When using an external display sometmes chrome browsers will crash and become completely unresponsive, this mainly happens with facebook. I would have been happy to speak to someone on the phone about this but after the first hour of being on hold i was hung up on and now i have been on hold for another 15 mins without speaking to a single person either time.

Since then i have been able to record both the black screen and when it bugs out. HP support have still not responded to me. Today I installed the recommended driver again by HP support assistant and once again it caused my computer to glitch out and make games unplayable. I am also no experiencing random screen cut outs where my monitor flashes black, this is happening on the old and new driver.

i upgraded from windows 7 to 10 and the brightness keys (f2 and f3) are no longer working

Hi all,

 

Just got my new HP Spectre 15 and loving it. 

 

Also got a new LG 4k monitor but having issues displaying 4k on it at 60hz. The monitor definitely supports it as does the Spectre but the only options I have on the intel display settings is to make it 30hz. 

 

Any tips? How can I force video out from the Nvidia card rather than the interl integrated graphics. maybe that is the isse.

hi i am using hp probook 4440s since 2012 i have few question about it bios . its bios looks modern than other systems but i want to find graphics option in bios nut i cant find it .i want to increase graphic memory mean forced to incease .so please help me to finding this option and last sorry for rip english i am from asia

When I plug in HDMI cable (already commected to TV), the TV continues to show "No input" message, and the monitor on the notebook (HP Spectre x360 15'6inch) starts blinking and after a couple of minutes it stops blinking, but there is no data shown on the TV anyway.

I am not able to play any games??

I own a HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook where I bought it in 2013 and brought it to Brazil, where I live.

The notebook had a problem on the screen where I took my tech assistance and found that the LVDS video cable had melted. Where can I find this cable to change.


I need only the video LVDS cable to be able to switch.

i am not able to change my brightness level its on its higest level. i have seen youtube videos for this they told that you should go to disk management and there you should go to display adaptors and upgrade intel hd graphics but i don't find this option although i have installed all the drivers of intel but i am not able to see in the control panel. so pls suggest me what to do.

When i turn on my laptop, it comes up blank not black but colored lines.  Then I connect it to an extenal monitor and it comes up fine on the external monitor.  After about one hour, I can disconnect my laptop from the external monitor and then everything is fine and the display comes up on my laptop without using the external monitor.  

 

Could this be an inverter problem?

I also adjusted the gamma and saturation through the Intel Graphics control panel, but it still doesn't seem quite right. I feel like it's something to do with the colour profile, but I can't find any more info on it. The screen comes under 'generic PnP monitor' in device manager, which I'm not 100% sure is correct, but there's no specific monitor driver available on the HP support site.

Hello, WF here.  I asked the retail assistant what to do when my notebook battery went down to 5%. Advised to completely shut it down, after charging, instead of sleep. I left it shutdown for a week or so only to find the battery completely drained. Even after charging for 20 hours yesterday there is no LED charging light. The notebook will not turn on at all despite holding the power button for 30 seconds.


I can't test and calibrate the battery by pressing the F2 key as suggested by the HP Forum post since the notebook won't turn on. Neither can I use the HP Support Assistant to check the battery.


It is such a pity to see my new notebook like this as the rear camera works excellently and there are folders stored on the 500GB hard drive. Sending my notebook for battery replacement is not an option as there are confidential files on both drives. Could you help?

I  purchased hp 15 ay513tx 2-3 days before. I am getting issue in video playback in windows media player and in almost every video player. it lags and screen becomes grenish many times between video playback. manytimes it freezes during video playback. all drivers are installed with original windows 10. its just 2-3 days that i have purchased it. looks like i have made a mistake that i purchased hp laptop. many of my friends already told mr that hp has such problems but i did not beleived to them because i had hp laptop once but this issue is surprising. i hope that i get answer in this forum.please help its a humble request.....
