My desktop video display is slow especially when I open folders and when playing movies. I thought that my drives could be outdated and for this I uninstalled the Windows 10 and downgraded to Windows 7 starter and the problem was solved. Though this helped I really want to use windows 10 for it is the software I have after losing the other one and subsequent crashing of the same.

I have several times mailed hp about this issue to HP SUPPORT & MR TUFAIL KHAN but i am not getting any response please help..
1)I Have a problem with my laptop under warranty.
2)My problem was that the laptop left side hinge was stuck or too tight.
3)Tight hinges led to laptop left side LCD come apart while opening my laptop.
4)when i saw that i let my laptop remain closed and immediately called HP Customer service on 19/06/17 and they appointed an engineer for the visit.
5) engineer visited my residence on 21/06/17.6)He examine the laptop and saw my laptop left bottom case coming off due to tight hinges and immediately put the blame on me saying it is damaged.7)hinges screws connected to lcd case came off while opening such was the extent of tightness of hinges.8) As the hinge's are the internal part of a laptop and it got stuck how can it be my fault ?? how could i damage the hinges if it is not under my reach??9)my Laptop doesn't have a single bump or damaged physically(refer the attachments) damage to hinges are a very dumb possibility.10)main thing is that the hinges are of very substandard quality doe to which it got stuck..and my right side hinges also making noise while opening.11) even there is problem with hinges which is the integral part of laptop which has worn off ,HP ia not willing to replace/repair the spare parts.12)IQOR who is HP representative has a very poor response to customer issue..service person took couple of photographs send whats app to his IQOR boss and immediately Closed my case saying the laptop is damaged ..what a joke?? customer is a very least priority for them I thought.13)I dont know weather Its IQOR or HP has this bad customer service.14)How can a case can be closed if customer is not satisfied or agrees with his fault??14)But as i have purchased it from HP and i simply purchased this laptop because HP was offering 3 years extended warranty and that to paying some amount for the extended warranty i am not getting my issues resolved ..very disappointed..15)i need to get a prompt reply and resolve my issue on priority bases.16 )I have also attached IQOR service receipt where he has written Hinges issue any ways i didn't sign the receipt as he written that laptop is damaged, but just attached for your reference . Now I am in India and I am facing some issues which I think are related to the disply screen.Some vertical lines shown above the display & i could't solve it manually. So is there any way that I can transfer laptop warranty to India so that I can get it repaired at the HP service center here in India?

I would like to use a 4th monitor with my ProBook 640 G1 and docking station. The dock has vga, dvi and dp ports on it. The laptop has a vga and a dp port on it. I have tried many different configurations, but I am unable to get a 4th monitor working with either the VGA or the DP port. Is there a hack, trick, tip or configuration that will allow the on board DP port to be utilized to drive a 4th monitor?
My screen used to auto rotate whenever I flipped my laptop into tablet mode, turned it around etc. but recently the display became locked. I found the "rotation lock" button but it is grayed-over and unable to be selected. When I went into the control panel, the option there is also gray and does not allow for it to be clicked on or changed. What do I do in order to fix this issue?
I have been having difficulty watching videos on youtube and for school. Tried all browsers and they are all affected. I read through an online forum there was an issue with a recent update to Windows 10 that caused the problem. It distorts the image so it extremely large for the viewing box. Reszing the screen doesn't help, changing the display doesn't help. I've tried downloading drivers for the video card and I can't seem to get that to fix it. I've also cleared the cash on my browsers.

Just purchased an HP Active Stylus that is supposed to work with Windows Ink. It does nothing. I don't see any way to pair it with my computer. Don't even know if I need to. Instructions that came with the pen are useless. This is my 2nd pen. I tried a Bamboo and it didn't work either. Anyone have an answer for me. HP help is useless as well. I'm trying to use it on my new x360 M6 HP Envy.
My computer monitor stopped working. How do I test it to see if it's any good, or is there something as simple as an on/off switch somewhere? Also, in the front of the base is a flashing blue light that's shaped like a lightning bolt.

I have experienced a not very loud buzzing or some scratching noise couple months ago but the noises were gone. However, the last couple days my laptop makes very annoying loud buzzing sounds for few seconds and the screen also freeze. I thought I maybe have to upgrade my windows but nothing happened.
the sounds only appear while watching whether i use headphones or not. today, my laptop froze and I had to turn it off to work again. this happens around 5 times a day.

I purchased mine and received it today. I am having the same exact problems. The touchpad is responsive to a point but it freezes and jumps and sometimes dissapears.
Why is this happening. Has anyone found any solution? What is HP saying about this error?
I use my laptop on my lap while sitting in a recliner. Sometimes I'll be typing away and hit a certain combination of keys that disables the touchpad. Then I have to attach a USB mouse, go to Control Panel and Touchpad settings to turn the touchpad back on. Does anyone know the keyboard hotkeys to reactivate the touchpad so I don't have to mess around with the mouse?
I have a cracked digitizer on a 11.6" HP Stream x360 - 11-aa053sa.
I cannot find a replacement out there anywhere for this particular model. Is anyone able to help? The warranty ran out at the end of last year and it seems that HP don't want to talk to me!

The screen on my HP Spectre cracked at the bottom left hinge and has spread up towards the top of my screen. It occasionally interferes with my touchscreen but usually my laptop still works ok for now. I would like to get it reparied before it gets any worse.
I was wondering how I can go about getting it repaired but found it difficult to find any information on the HP website. It is no longer under warranty so I understand I would need to pay for the service. Would I send my laptop off to be repaired and where would I send it to? Or are there local repair services I could take it to?
Also how much will it cost? I need to weigh up my options between getting a new laptop and paying for a screen repair.
I bought the laptop when I used to live in the US but I now live in the UK. Will I be able to use a repair service in the UK?

hello. there is an older thread describing the same situation, but there was no solution that would assist in my problem.
i have tried three drivers from the intel site as well as the one for my model no. and OS here on the HP site.
they are all for intel HD graphics 4600.
none would install--the one from HP returns: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".
the intel ones either "the operating system is not supported" or this:
the reason i wanted to update is because certain (simple--not complex) games would freeze.
the only one that i am able to install is the one on my computer.
i have previously had no problem whatsoever installing several different drivers.
i can reinstall the one on the computer over and over, but none of the others will work.
running the compatibilty does not solve the problem. i still get "operating system not supported"
ALL of the drivers are designated for my OS and installed graphics.

I purchased this refurbished monitor from a third party retailer and no USB-C cable is included. I tried several cables but non of them can work perfectly(Either no signals or not charging @60W). Could anyone recommend my a USB-C cable that is sure to work with the monitor? Or can hp sell me an OEM one? I am using that for my macbook pro 2016
Hello, I have an HP 17-x044ds and I am having issues trying to watch any YouTube video that is 1080p60. I am having this issue with both browsers I have tried, but both have their own issue. With Edge, I don't get any bandwidth at all, maybe like 0.4 Mbps to 1.4 Mbps and the video takes forever to load but when it does finally load it plays smooth unlike Chrome.
In Chrome, the video is buffering even though I am getting 14+ Mbps and there is 80 seconds loaded. The video is not smooth, it's jumpy and lags behind the audio with lots of dropped frames, in 0:42 seconds of video there is 723 dropped frames out of 1781 frames. It is not playing at 60 fps like it should be. I turned off hardware decoding and it only seemed to make it worse, it appeared as if the video was in slow motion but the audio was normal.
I don't have this problem on my 2011 Dell Inspiron 15r, I could watch 2-4 videos at the same time with no buffering and no dropped frames.
I just got this computer back from HP repair, the hard drive went out after 70 days and they had to re-flash the BIOS because the updater tool corrupted it. Windows 10 has been reinstalled and updated to the latest version, v1703 (build 15063.447). Some of the drivers from HP say they're not intended for this platform and the all the graphics drivers say they are not compatible with this machine.

tried using skype on my laptop and i noticed all dark colors were showing up purple - this is not just happening in skype but across the board - anything that uses the webcam.
i dont know how to access the webcam software so im not sure how to fix it.
any suggestions?
sorry this is really upsetting cause i just sent my laptop in to HP for some other issues and literally just got it back 2 weeks ago - and the laptop itself is brand new.
