Hello,

This is my first time seeking help with a problem so I hope I give the proper information for a solution. I received a message from a game that I frequently play that I need to update my graphic driver. I moved to the AMD site and used the auto detect service. It was found I need to download and install catalyst mobility 64 bit.I choose download and received download complete message. I am giving the intsallation pop up and choose to install C:\AMD\Catalyst_Mobility_64-Bit_Util. After clicking install I get a pop message stating "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. The version of your graphics adapter is not supported. Please contact your notebook manufactorer for a graphics driver update".

Ive visited the HP site and I have not seen any new update provided. Can anyway share information that I need to update my graphic driver properly.

Thank You

Hello, I m stupid enough to have moved the file from one place to another, from its very own folder to my desktop so now it doesnt work. How do I get it to work? is there an .exe file in my computer somewhere, so that I delete and re-install it? I downloaded a new version but it was only for a 30days free trial period (a real one, not like win rar :P ) so help me! please! my model of laptop is compaq CQ58 if that helps in any way.

My laptop was working perfect last summer, then I can some remodeling going on in my house so I tucked it away to avoid from "losing" it. I boot it up this morning and I barely noticed the screen was working, if it wasnt for a dim hp logo at the center. Could someone help me out, idk what to do.

Thanks in advance.

HP Envy Touchsmart 17-j017cl touchscreen clicks screen by itself

Windows 8 64 bit
Product Number: E9G80UA

I recently bought this about 4 months ago and it did fine for a little while. But recently it would do this annoying glitch. The screen would act as if I am pressing the screen somewhere in the middle of it and selecting anything within it's range. This may not seem so bad by the sounds of it, but if you're playing a video or are on a website with links in that area it will either click on a link or stop/play videos. It's very annoying!

Troubleshooting: At first I thought it might be my touchpad, so I made sure I didn't touch it during these times. But it would still do it even if I'm not touching the laptop. So if I were to only use my wireless mouse to go through webpages or whatever, it would still do the phantom clicking.

I then thought maybe it's my wireless mouse, so I disconnected the USB receiver from the laptop and it still does it.

I then tried getting tech support online with HP and they accessed my computer and tried a few things like removing the touchpad driver and whatnot with no results. He eventually told me I would have to send it to them to have it repaired (still in warranty). However, I don't have the time to send my laptop to them for repairs.

My final thought was to disable the touch screen. Which I did by going to device managers and disabling one of the HID options. I had several, so I had to try each one since none were labeled as touch screen, but only as HID compliant device. This has worked so far and it hasn't clicked anywhere yet.

My question is, does anyone know what I need to do to fix the problem? I thought about updating the driver, but I can't find it on the HP site and when I try to update driver through device manager it says that it has the best driver available, which most of the time is BS. I guess I just need to know where I can find the true driver for the touch screen.

I have a HP mini 110 model 3520 and want to use a newish (<2 years) TV as a monitor using the VGA output. when I connect the TV, I get an error message "unsupported video". I have tested the TV with other notebooks and the VGA input on the TV works OK. does anyone have any idea if there is anything different about the VGA output on the HP mini? would a video to HDMI converter work?

thanks

Connect two external monitors to the notebook

Hi,

I received an issue for which i'm not able to find a solution. Please help.

"Product Name: HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook CTO 15t-4000

Problem Description: I'm trying to use 3 monitors with my HP Spectre XT TouchSmart notebook - 2 external monitors and the built-in screen. I'm connecting to one monitor with a HDMI-DVI adapter and the other with a MiniDisplay-DVI adapter (although I also have a MiniDisplay-VGA). The monitors are identical Dell P2214H 22" wide aspect screens. The laptop specifications (Intel Core i7-3517U processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics card) and Intel FAQ (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm) suggest that it should be possible. When I extend the desktop to the 3rd screen in Windows display settings, I receive a message that says "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings." If I try instead to go through the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, no option to extend to the 3rd monitor appears.

Duplicating or extending the display to a 2nd monitor works fine, regardless of whether that monitor is connected through the HDMI or the Mini DisplayPort port (ruling out the possibility that the built-in screen shares a bus with one of the external display ports). Additionally, I am able to have the display output to both external monitors instead of the built-in monitor."

Thanks

Just as the subject title states, I have "fuzzy" vertical columns on my screen.  If you look at the screen, it is divided evenly into four vertical columns.  There are thin white lines, flashing randomly in these columns.  Sometimes just one colum, sometimes all four, sometimes two, etc.  Sometimes none.  These lines/columns are superimposed over whatever content is being displayed on the screen.  Any ideas/suggestions?

Monitor Problems

For the past couple of weeks my laptop has been randomly detecting a second monitor. I have NEVER tried hooking it up to an external monitor. Usually my laptop recognizes the monitor as a generic non-pnp monitor. When it detects the monitor it makes a sound as if I am plugging a USB drive in and my screen shrinks. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics driver and disabling and uninstalling the second monitor. This did start happening a few days after I installed APB Reloaded but I uninstalled the game and it still did it. I restored my PC back to when I didn't have a problem but that didn't work. Yesterday, I removed everything that I did to my computer by resetting it to its factory settings but the problems still occurs. I'm wondering if you guys think it's most likely a hardware problem. I think it could be something with the port. Thanks in advance.
