I want to be able to open and close the lid on my Envy x360 without having it affect anything. Secondly, I'd also like to turn off the touch screen.
How do I set the lid so that it has no effect on anything when it is opened or closed?

Laptop display is off (but works on external monitor), then minutes later laptop display works?
I dropped my laptop about 7 inches off the ground onto the carpet. After that, the display is not working correctly. I noticed that you can still BARELY see things on the screen, but it is so dim that it is pretty much impossible. When I connect it to an exteral monitor, the computer is working fine, but the laptop display is still off.
The weird thing is, after about 10 minutes, the laptop display turns completely on and works fine. Any idea what to do? The display seems to go off anytime after I turn the computer back on or when it wakes from sleep.

HP Spectre screen goes black/grey almost every time
I'm facing some troubles with my HP Spectre 13 laptop ever since my first use. Quite often, my laptop screen goes black or grey-ish (it depends on the laptop's mood). It is specially bad when I turn it on. Yet, all the keys and icons still work - it's just the screen, but I can't see anything. Here's an example of what happens (and in this photo something is still visible):
Sometimes it goes back to normal when I press a few keys or, on the contrary, leave it alone. But this is not a rule. I don't like to smack it every 5 seconds for the screen to work for another 5 seconds, before going black again. So, every help is deeply appeciated. Unfortunately, I bought the laptop on a trip to the U.S., and I can't go back for HP to replace the laptop.
I'm deeply frustrated by this problem, since I can't bear to use this laptop with a black screen almost every time. Could it be some loose cable? Thanks beforehand for all the help!

Cracked screen
I bought my HP spectre x360 (old model) around two months ago. Going to bed last night I left my laptop on my desk and when I woke up and opened the laptop it had a crack in the screen, now my desk is in my room so there is no way anything could have happened to it while I slept. I guess I want to know how then, the laptop that cost me thirty thousand Rand ($2300) cracked and whether this is a screen fault. Having seen all the other messages on this forum about old spectres screens miraculously cracking I'm pretty upset and questioning whether I should have moved away from Apple products. The crack is around 8 inches long and stretches from the 'hewlett-packard' at the bottom to just bellow the top let corner.

Touchpad won't work at the time as keyboard when I play games
Whenever I try to play games such as Minecraft I am unable to use my touchpad at the same time as I use the keyboard. This had become incredibly annoying whenever I try to move around in the game. However, I am still able to use the touchpad when I'm not on a game and just browsing online.

am using an HP Pavilion 15 P045tx. The display screen is damaged (Part no.-762513-001). i have searched online and results point to the disply screen of HP Pavilion 15 E015tx (Part no. 719873-001) , which is also the only part available for purchase. The description of both parts is similar however I would like to know if the pinout and other minutiae are compatible

Video/ sound playback issues
Hi, just bought a new HP Spectre x360 laptop and when i try to play a video on youtube or any other site I lose the sound ifter 3 seconds then i get picture flicker followed by a timout message saying attempted to load this page but not responding. I have 200mbs fibre, troubleshooted the audio and other settings on control panel, restarted the machine many times but still no luck, any advice?

HDMI Output in not Working
Hi All,
I have HP Notebook - 15-ay113nt with integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 and AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M340.
My Hdmi connection to BENQ 24 GW2470HE monitor does not work.
I have updated both Graphics Card to the latest driver.
Tried disabling and re-enabling drivers while HDMİ is not connected.
Tried to reboot multiple times.
Below are the drivers I am using for my graphics Cards:
Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 : Driver Date 11/11/2016 and Version 21.20.16.4550
AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M340 : Driver Date 5/17/2017 and Version 22.19.165.512
Monitor works fine with other devices.

HDMI WONT WORK
So 3 months ago I can connect my laptop to a tv through hdmi perfectly but now I dont get why it wont connect anymore. I tried everything, I googled the solutions but still nothing workd. I bought another hdmi and tried resetting my tv still got nothing. It's the hdmi cable that has a problem bc when i connect it to another laptop it works fine. I think there's somthing wrong with my driver. but I dont know what is it pls help. IDK what to do anymore

Cannot install correct driver
Hi,
I am trying to install windows 7 drivers on a laptop I bought (had windows 10) last week. Order number HP 255 G5 (AMD A8-7410 APU with Radeon r5 Graphics. All drivers are working apart from the graphics driver I have tried the HP driver, the amd driverFrom their website), I have even tried the auto-detect driver from AMD and still it reports as standard VGA adapter.

Keyboard issue
Yes i can be on my computer doing things and the when i start typing certain letters diffrent boxes pop up. For example if i hit the letter F file manger comes up or if i hit the letter s the start menu comes up. I have no idea how to fix it. Any help will be greatful.

Cursor on ALPS touchpad jumps on left button click
Hello,
I have had an Elitebook 1040 G3 for 9 months and cannot shake this issue. When I click my left button, the cursor jumps down and to the left occasionally, launching items from my task bar that I then have to close. There is a secondary problem where the left mouse button won't release after being held down for a couple of seconds. It acts as pressed even though it's been released mechanically. I've had HP replace the touch pad twice (the second time with the little flat band cable), replace the mother board, and even send an entire new unit. The new unit displayed the same behavior, so I didn't accept it. Looking for a solution because I like everything else about this notebook. I've installed the newest driver [8.2206.1717.157, sp79005.exe) with no effect. These sporadic issues are extremely frustrating and I want to reach out here before giving up on this unit and on HP in general. Thanks.
